  1. Gutted mate, didn't know that! :( So if you were aiming for 300, then the 9a block would be fine using ARP head and rod bolts and steel spacer gasket (with abf gasket ends) would be ok?
  2. You not building yours now then? As for the oil temp sensor location isn't that at the back of the block on the right hand side, just below the head?
  3. Had a discussion with vwdeviant yesterday about where to take the oil feed from for the turbo. I thought from the the oil pump, but Jon reckoned that could cause issues. Where would you guys suggest?
  4. Chuffin nora, that's low! I'm surprised you can turn the front wheels. Not a criticism of course I think it looks phat 8) Like you say the only thing that needs sorting is the front bumper, oh and I'd colour code the grill and grill spoiler if it were mine!!
  5. here's one here's another here's another
  6. What history has it got? You've not mentioned it so I'm guessing not a lot. I'd run a mile from that given what you've said about it. If you're considering spending 2k on a 1.8 16v, then I'd expect to see lots of history, with everything working and in good nick. I wouldn't touch it without MOT either. just me 2p's worth....
  7. Yeah, he's always doing things like that! Mic, the VR looks stunning in those photos, and I'll have to agree with dinkus that the second photo is definately the best! Mrs B once told me to get a good photo, always try and get some depth to the picture with something (not the subject matter) in the foreground!
  8. Cool! this isn't likely to produce water in the drivers footwell though is it?
  9. Does the ABF front coolant flange point lower that the standard 9a one? Will have issues with my modded 20v manifold with the standard one methinks. Looking good though Yan, looks very OEM! 8) 8)
  10. I'm guessing it is stuck on with some sort of sealant them? If so will I need to reseal afterwards? I've got some black sealant that I used to stick the trim back on that sat around the top of the passenger side of the screen. Will that do? A "how to" could be quite beneficial!
  11. Can these all be fitted be myself? and I it an easy job?
  12. It does have a distinctive muddy smell to it!
  13. Ah, ok. Would the windscreen seal deteriorate over time? Never had a problem before now.
  14. Re-fitted drivers side carpet and sound deadening following being soaking wet. Replaced blown N/S brake light bulb. Re-fittted under dash trim properly. Fixed clifford valet switch. Re-fitted handsfree kit speaker
  15. Which box are you using as a base then? Standard early 16v?
  16. Good work Dave. How long dot you reackon it should take you to map it with the turbo? You using EGT with MS?
  17. Fookin hell Tom, you've been at the crack again haven't you??
  18. haven't done anything other than bodywork recently - . haven't enquired about a wideband lambda either - curious why you ask? I thought you'd asked me for his email? Of course I might be going completely mad! :?
