Please help a n00b - recommendation for speakers?
KADVR6 replied to Portent's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
yeh you need 6.5 cm speakers, a friend just bought some of these for he's mk4 golf and they are just amazing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Focal-Performance-PC165-6-5-Coaxial-Car-Speakers-/170700387274?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item27be8933ca but depends on your budget. -
bet he's family hate him on xmas day with wrapping skills like that lol
-
cheers guys i'm even more happy with them after seeing them in the sunshine, and abdul you need your eyes testing as there is no blue/green to them. and its good to see that vultering is still very rife on here, had 15 pm's about my AZEV alloys and there not even off the car yet lol
-
why not get the centres powder coated the same as the wheel then.
-
well got the centres powder coated today and they look ace, the camera has not picked up the extra flake that was added to the powder coating but in the flesh it really pops out. gonna look nice when they are fitted, just gotta sort out some spacers for them
-
wont fit and will rub, been there years ago when i bought some audi comps and thought Mmmmm will they fit straight on, the answer was no.
-
have a go in a 540i sport then, you may look at the corrado in a different light then.
-
1.8t sorry but hate that engine, no soul but lots of go if done right, but an s4 v6 twin turbo is a great engine just strap some KO4 turbos on and re-map will see you very happy.
-
depends on what finish your having the alloys done in??
-
well today drove up to meet Andy (C5 OEM) to buy he's BBS RX2's after about two weeks in he's hands lol, got them back and they are currently having the centres powder coated a very bright silver with extra metallic flake so they really shine, then need to sort out some spacers to clear the brembos. Should look ace when fitted pic off Andys for sale post

i had a set of ZW1's ages ago and had them on for about a month, the car just tramlined everywhere and the steering felt a lot less assertive, took the off put the RC's back on and oh what a difference in a very good way. keep the 301's you will regret it in the future.
-
they will polish up nicely mate, i did a set years ago and came up really really well
-
to be honest around town you could easily get 23/25 mpg out of one as at idle they will do about 20mph, i did get 38mpg on the motorway once with the boot full and three fat ass passengers. but you press down on the loud pedal and the thing just flew for a big four door saloon, a mildly tuned vr6 would not have a chance against one in a straight line, and a supercharged vr6 would maybe just about keep up with it up to about 80mph then the 4.4V8 just gets going. I have owned a charged vr6 so its true and not pub talk.
