Thermostat is new and working, both radiator hoses are getting warm. Coolant temp increases regardless off fans. I've now found out the third outlet is for the feed for the original 24v aux pump and it needs to be blocked off. So I'll plug that and see if that sorts it.

Hi all, I've got a 99% complete 24v swap in my VR. I've plumbed it up using the VR6 stat housing, radiator and hose set up. Coolant is circulating back to the coolant reservoir and it's been well bled of any air yet it won't cool down. I've got two spal fans on my rad, they cool it adequately enough however the coolant doesn't then go from the rad back round the engine. The only difference in the plumbing on this compared to the original VR is the the VR has to outlets on the front of the block that both go to the oil cooler. This 24v lump has 3 outlets so I've joined two together for now. I think this could be causing the issue. Keen to hear any feedback.

After a scraper seal for passenger side, managed to buy a new drivers one but can't find the passenger one anywhere. Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Afternoon all, I've finally saved up enough money for a turbo kit for my VR just wondering if anyone was running a turbo kit from BBM. If so what are they like? Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Hi all I need to drill out a snapped screw and retap the holes on the black plastic part of the spoiler assembly. How do I go about disconnecting the hose/pipe from it? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Afternoon all, I'm after a speedline center cap for a stock VR6 wheel. Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Hi all I'm looking at putting my MK2 back on the road next month and want to sort out the cooling situation. Currently I've just got stage 3 on the fans wired up to a switch on the dash and that's it. It works fine at keeping the car cool but its always in the back off my head worrying about the temps in traffic in case I forget to switch them on. Is there a way to wire the VR fans up properly so they come on automatically as they should save me worrying whenever I hit traffic. Is it just a case of buying a VR fan loom then wiring it up? Thought I'd try here before buying one off the bay as I know some of you have a myriad of VW parts and I'd rather buy off a forum member if possible. After a ASD 02a box for my 20VT golf the ABF box is a bit too short for my liking so that'll be up for sale soon if anyone wants it. Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

I think I saw the one you're on about and that put me off a bit aswell tbh. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Got this week off so told myself I wasn't going to do anything else until I've finished the VR so finished prepping it and reprimed it as I had rubbed through a fair few parts of it getting rid of little scratches that it had acquired whilst being parked up. Aiming to sand the primer tomorrow and paint Friday/Saturday. Though I am having second thoughts about the colour change as I'm not doing inside of the boot so it would look a sight in my opinion so might just stick with Classic Green but still undecided. New brake pedal switch fitted and also got round to fitting my silicone water hoses all's well. Or so it seemed now I've no sidelights (front or back) and no backlit dash. Still got headlights and main beam though. Fuses all checked so looks to be another wiring niggle. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Took me about 6 months but I finally painted the wheel I took off earlier this year. Chose Ford Moondust silver as it's a bit more shiny shiny than the OEM silver. This was the worst wheel on the car so it's not perfect but a vast improvement over its previous condition. Give me another 18 months and no doubt I'll have done the other 3. Tip: traffic cones make great wheel stands Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

I'm an absolute idiot, I don't believe I've done this. I left one of the live cables off the battery. Feel like a right prat. Car is now up and running just waiting on new water hoses. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Cheers for the heads up on insulation didn't know about that. The car currently has no power at all, the battery is charged and I'm getting nothing at the mess of the fuse box. Empty plugs and unconnected wires aplenty so nigh on impossible to tell what it is that's came loose or unplugged. Obviously whoever did the conversion didn't have OCD as it's an absolute jungle. It's the middle cable coming off the relay pictured which is connected straight to the battery via another cable with an inline fuse. Just can't find anywhere where it may have come from but fairly certain it's my reason for loss of power. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Replaced the wire and was planning to do some tests to see what caused the cable to melt but I've now got not power. My heavy handedness at the fusebox is probably to blame. I've found an unplugged power cable coming of the relay by the battery which I assume is my problem. Anyone got a diagram of where the power from this relay goes to? Also removed and measured my water hoses and ordered some lengths of silicone hose in the correct internal diameter

Aye I'm leaving the Golf at home today taking the van instead last thing I want is it bursting into flames and causing chaos on the A494. I'll look into it this afternoon, I've had a Google and it brought up a similar problem with the Corrado headlight switch which was solved with 200ma in line fuse I think. I'll pm you my email now Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

380hp?! That sounds mental! I've currently got 280mm brakes from a G60 so it's not too bad had a few brown pants moments before I changed from drums to discs on the back though. I'll have a look-see at what sort of gear change system I've got tomorrow as not too sure. The cars abit of a Frankenstein with bits and bobs from everything. Also not sure if I'll keep this gearbox as 60mph is at the very very end of 2nd gear so I'd prefer something like my VR which has nicer longer gears. Also need to have a look at my loom as I've just turned the headlights on and the engine started to stutter and smoke appeared from the headlights switch which is v concerning. Been awhile since I updated the golf so here it goes: After fitting my rear axle w/new wheel bearings/discs/pads and fitting an OEM DV I took the golf down to be mapped. Picked it up the next day and happy to say we've gone from 167bhp to 215bhp and 240ft/lb. The car properly flies now and is bordering on the dangerous side. Not planning for any more power until acquiring an LSD as it does sometimes struggle to put the power down if my right foot is a bit too eager. If money was no object it'd be getting an LSD, forged rods, K300 bbt turbo and a 3inch turbo back exhaust but currently I've got other things draining my bank so maybe next year. Swapped out the cracked clear indicator lenses for some new amber ones. Also painted the rocker cover with some VHT black paint. Planning to order some lengths of silicone pipe and replace the old hoses as some are looking rather tired. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Got the Corrado running properly for the first time in a whilst. For the past few months when I've had to move it, it wouldn't idle. Found a loose vac hose so it's now back to running properly. Looking at taking the wings off to paint them separately just to make things bit easier. I've got all the bolts out and I've searched the forum and know about the sealer that has to be cut through/heated with a heat gun. Haven't got a heat gun so armed myself with a stanley knife but struggling to find where the join is tbh where I need to cut through the sealant and don't want to go in all guns blazing and end up scratching/cutting things unnecessarily. Anyone able to point out where I need to cut. Cheers Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Took the car to be mapped this week and found out it was overboosting and had a split in the PCV hoses. I was advised to replace the aftermarket eBay special dump valve with the OEM diverter valve and to replace the hoses and boost control solenoid. Replaced the Boost Control Solenoid and hoses, currently waiting on an OEM DV so took the opportunity to swap my axle whilst I wait on parts. Started last night, all brake pipes disconnected and handbrake cable also. Just need to remove the bolts that mount it to the car itself then put the other one on and make up some brake pipes.
