Well picked the golf up Tuesday afternoon, had a bit of a mini photoshoot with my mate who's rather handy with a camera. Just been driving it round enjoying it, it's fairly quicker than my VR6 and saw off a Cooper S with ease. Yesterday I started stripping the rear GTi axle I got given with car. Getting rid of the light layer of crusty metal on the beam and planning to paint it with something to give it some protection thinking maybe just hammerite smooth? Also putting some new wheel bearings in whilst it's off and exposed. Hopefully should be on the car next week as it's currently still got drums on the rear (280mm upgrade on the front). I know it's the 180bhp engine but no precise figures but it's got a FMIC and an aftermarket exhaust system with De-cat but hasn't been tuned since they've been installed first thing in my to do list is get a custom map done. Back seats are from a MK3 I think Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

So yesterday I was contemplating buying a Mk2 to play with alongside my VR, a day later and I am now the owner of what was originally a 1992 MK2 Golf 1.8 Driver. Now converted to a 1.8T I will post the interesting stuff from the ad below. Just been to view it, rust on driver's door but that was mentioned in the advert. Few dents and dings here and there, body is in good condition other than drivers door. It bloody flew, I'm about to ring him back and make an offer. Will update with any news Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I've heard similar comments about it feeling dated when compared to a corrado but my T25 is years behind my corrado and I enjoy driving it so hopefully a MK2 has the same enjoyment factor. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Well a few hours ago I was contemplating it and now I've arranged to view a MK2 with a 1.8t AUM swap tomorrow afternoon, only 20 miles away aswell things I normally want are in Scotland or down south. Feeling pretty chuffed Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

How did you find the handling compared to a Corrado? I think my first modification will be a wide track conversion for both looks and handling as others have said the Corrado handles better. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Currently looking at buying a 3 door 16v GTi for a bit of fun in addition to my Corrado. Something I can modify with a bit less worry as I worry too much about taking the engine out of the C and it never going back in or just doing something stupid which would wreck the car. It's a 1.8 16v which has been fettled with to the tune of 150bhp. Just wondering how the driving experience compares to a Corrado? Hoping to crack on with the car next week and get it done, car went on the back burner whilst I've been working on other things. Car is now in primer after I got the welder out and welded up the badge holes to smooth the back panel. Bonnet got painted today hoping for bumpers by Monday then rest of the car later on in the week. Then it's new wheels/tyres and back on the road. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Cheers I thought black was a bit boring much prefer this, used that method in the end and they came apart easy

No updates for a whilst as I've had personal problems which I won't bore you with. The car is now mostly in primer and looking almost ready for paint. Had a change of heart with the colour and thought I'd try some LB5R (Deep Blue Pearl) the same colour as offered on the R32. Decided to spray part of the car with it instead of using one of my spare panels as I wanted to see whether the lines of the car would complement it well. Have to say I'm rather happy with it and plan to paint the full car in this colour unless I have a sudden change of heart. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
