  1. I know the feeling of having more than one project on the go had a T25 pickup for 18 months that needs attention but my corrado is my main focus. Hoping to go down the FI route next winter or maybe the one after that depending on funds. I'll look in to polishing the head as I'm sure I've seen it mentioned elsewhere. Cheers
  2. I learnt my lesson from buying cheap, bought mine for £950 and ending up selling it for £1300 after spending hundreds of £ and hours on it. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  3. Evening all thought I might aswell start a bit of a build thread for my engine. I've been given the chance to completely strip my engine at college for a project and replace any worn parts. I've also saved up £1700 over summer to spend over the coming winter on my VR6. I'm looking to make it go a bit faster so I'm thinking of some schimmel 263's, BMC CDA, decat exhaust and a remap at stealth to finish it all off. Any thoughts or suggestions on other modifications or perhaps a different set of cams are welcome. I've heard good things about the 263's but curious about the 288's/268's aswell. I'm just looking to get better speed overall without losing power at either end of the speed/rev range. Thanks in advance for any help, look forward to hearing from you knowledgeable chaps.
  4. Also interested in this, like driving by candlelight atm...
  5. If all the things that have gone wrong have been dealt with previously as you've said I'd say it'd be a waste to break. For me personally it'd have to be option 2.
  6. Finally got round to it. It was a hole in the gearbox that the driveshaft had cut into like a circular saw. Managed to get it welded for £20 from a friendly fabricator now she's back up and running with new gearbox oil. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  7. I can only assume that they had been previously under tightened by the previous owner. I've had the car for just under 3 months and I've not touched either driveshaft. The bolts have come clean out the holes. Worst thing is I haven't been driving it regularly I've let my mum use it for the past few weeks whislt I sorted some issues out on her rubbish Renault. So I assume she just ignored the noise that was been coming from underneath. I was nursing it the 0.7 mile to the unit to get it up in the air to have a look at the source of the noise when disaster struck.
  8. Well after replacing the front end of my VR last month following a bit of an incident. I'm now plagued with even more Corrado woes. As I was pulling off from a set of lights there was an almighty clunk and a large puddle of oil appeared. I opened my bonnet to discover my nearside driveshaft had ejected itself. It's still attached hub side. Anyways managed to tow it home and now I'm in the process of fixing it. Is it as simple as just filling the gearbox with oil again and attaching said driveshaft back up? Will I need any new seals? Cheers in advance
  9. Cheers, now I can finally enjoy my car again Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

  11. Cheers for the help everyone. Due to go to Birmingham tomorrow to pick up all the parts I need to her back on the road. :) Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  12. Yes got a jack underneath the front cross member as well as axle stands. Didn't want to risk it Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  13. It had a new one last year would and it hasn't lost any coolant so I think it should be alright. Got my slam panel and front bumper off. How do I go about removing the bonnet release cable to remove the slam panel fully? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah I'm fine thanks, no passengers thankfully. That was my plan new slam panel, bumper, splitter and I've already got a spare bonnet to chuck on aswell. Might need a new rad aswell the slam panel went back into the radiator and now it has a few dings on it. Worst thing is I've just forked out a load on my other project. Was planning to take it off the road for winter anyways but ideally wanted it in once piece Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  15. Morning all not news that I want to write but last night I was in a bit of a smash (no I wasn't speeding) and now my VR is looking in quite a state :( Expect a lot of wanted posts from me asking for parts. That's all no one else seems to understand why I care so much about my car being damaged but like many of you will understand these cars are truly unique.

    VR6 Decat pipe

Not sure it would fit a 'rado as the cats are different lengths I've heard. Cheers for the offer anyway Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

  19. Morning all, I've read previous forums on this but they only seem to cover early type clusters. I'm looking at replacing my dash bulbs as I can't see my fuel or temp at night which isn't too helpful. I'm looking at replacing them with the bulbs pictured below. I must be having a blonde moment because I'm stumped as to how to remove the gauges as I presume there are bulbs behind them aswell as along the top of the cluster. Cheers in advance for any help
  20. Pm sent about a couple of things Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I'll have to turn it down unfortunately, you're nearly 3 hours away from me. Thanks anyway Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  23. Evening all, Rather trivial question for an easy task on any other car but apparently there's a special method for VR's. I've picked up all the gear to service my car and have replaced all discs and pads. I'm just wondering how do you remove the spark plugs without the original tool as I don't want to break anything by forcing it. Thanks in advance for any help

How much do you want for one? And do you have a postcode/location so I can see whether it's feasible to collect? Cheers Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
