I get impressioj you dont like my g60 roddy :) Its kinda max power in a tame way, and too loud..but it pulls well and seems to have good boost. dont hate it ;)

if its tappets then it will be apparent when u drive from cold. my golf did that and it was obvious. stopeed after warmed up as is common. If it carries on then when warm then its something wrong. :( rattles are not good as you probably know. and 16v's are worse if so as its more likely and more costly to sort

I was in same situation: I reckon for money you have..like roddy said, you will get a maybe good or probably dodgy vr6. Owners of C's will know what they are and sell according. if you have 4 grand to spend then buy a good G60 or a very very well checked over high mileage vr6 small things add up so be wary, You could buy a vr6 for 3.5k and spend well over a grand on mounts/brakes/cv's/suspension/bushes which are par for course on old car. and the rest

also...front grill wil be 25 quid...then get full exhaust not just back box. then air filter..then cams and gas flowed head...and shiny bits so..exhaust = 300 roughly cams x2 = 300 min ..err...get a G60 :)

turn off caps = + 10 bhp

went out to show my mate mine tonight. said it definitely felt quicker than golf vr6 :) you are better with storm roddy, easyily the best corrado imo

Took car into garage today to get them to check over: 1)squeeky front brakes after having new discs and pads recently 2)smell of fuel after having stage 4/chip/pulley/fpr ... smell of fuel was from one the hoses on the fuel rail which has now been sorted :D no more smell...and much better fuel economy..seems to drive much better to but that could be in my head. discs didnt squeek for about 2 miles then back to the same :( It's kinda pissing me off now as I have taken the car back to garage twice to sort it and nothings different

As roddy will testify, the exhaust on my g60 is way to loud. I phoned up the place that fitted it (before I bought car) and they said the same as pau1 had. That it only had 2 boxes in it, so adding a 3rd would make a big difference. They said it would be 50 quid to do and make no diferrence to power etc... I am sold (Its a powerflow custom for those interested)

hehe ...just met up with pau1 and roddy tonight and we tryin this out I was getting 1860. Got 1940 later...so hard to tell from it. What sorta boost should i get with: stage 4 jabba charger sns stage 5 chip 68mm pulley 3.5 fpr full decat exhaust still need to set my new timing as its only just driven in on the charger

put an old skool 80's packed lunch box instead and keep your plasters in the glove box. Never know when you might get peckish. Could have some peanut butter sarnies in there too I have a green fabric/semi rigid first aid kit in mine..doubt its the original one tho...wht u reckon? (warning triangle is there tho)

Well thats 430 on it now :) ...but its pissing with rain tonight. Couldn't resist a quick burn tho. I couldn't get any power down in 2nd and only just in 3rd up hill :) For the first time I can actually hear the charger over my exhaust to. I love the little whistle it makes when changing gear...its no dump valve, but its stil pretty loud and kew :D please be dry tomorrow..please be dry tomorrow

Done 350miles now :) All most there..will take it easy for a bit tho. I have noticed car smeels of petrol until warmed and driven a bit harder. I haven't adjusted the timing yet tho so will have to sort that out when its run in. I was thinking it would need advanced as its running rich ?? Power etc seems good...I always run on optimax to. Any ideas?

is standard not 78mm? you want a 68mm aluminium pulley and SNS chip from Pitstop...180 quid Got mine done last week and cars a new beast altogether. Reckon the word of SNS is spreading quicky...see loads of posts about people switching from jabba over to them now

Aye it sure was :) I have been taking it easy, but the response and power in 1st and 2nd is pretty mad :) The mpg seems very similar at the moment. Perhaps a few mpgs less. Worth it tho :) I noticed yesterday after a long drive temps were around 114 which is a fair bit higher than usual...but today its back down to 104-108ish. Probably getting accustomed to it :) I'll give you a shout on Sunday or something Pau1. Shoulda been down to Dundee and back by then to add some more miles ;)

As I have said in another thread, finally got my C back yesterday. Have put 150 miles on it already, another 300 to go before I can revit properly. Must say tho initial impressions are pretty incredible. Its got so much more power/torque, noticable below 4000rpm. Best part is the sns chip and FPR, really has totally erradicated the digi-lag. I was well aware of it before, and now any amount of throttle...it always takes off. cant wait to get it driven in. had it checked over for boost leaks and had a coupleof hoses replaced so everything should be just right. Cheers for the advice dubcharged....I was so close to getting chip pulley etc from jabba too.
