  1. "Though sometimes i wish she would at least offer!"  amen to that brother
  2. Its not so much having it flowed to stage 4 or whatever that gives the gain. This will allow more flow obviously - it's the smaller pulley that makes the difference allowing the charger to rev higher - more boost (with chip) Standard G60 is 160ish bhp, with 68mm pulley, stage4 charger and chip you are looking at around 190-200 bhp and a significant increase in torque, especially lower in the rev range

    stickers

    They also add ~15bhp
  4. yeah you won't need to re-chip if you just keep what u have and use new ic. If you get an sns chip then you will need the 3.5bar fpr as well remember. I totally recommend the sns chip. Have a look on VWVortex forums, there's loads of people swear by them there as well.
  5. Thanks for the help again people, was proper bo I tell thee :) I'll go check it out this afternoon.
  6. OK I know it's late, but I am on holiday this week so its all good OF late I have noticed a kinda belt squeking/rubbing noise from what seems to be the alternator belt? Could be one to charger not totally sure. I have had all belts replaced about 5K ago so guess I should go to garage that did them and ask. Not hugely worried, just curious as to what to do, or what it could possibly be? any ideas people ? :)
  7. hmmm..thanks or input, but 10k of 195,000 ?? :) how do you know you have not nailed the proverbial coffin. Anyway, I am just kidding, to be honest tho I would have gone with semi synth as used to use that with 8v golf gti mk2. Think I will hold off till the end of the week and see what the poll amounts too and then make my decision :) Thanks for sortin that out G60Jet
  8. Poll would be good...seems to be many a difference of opinion.
  9. OK I know it's kinda lazy, but I can't be f***** doing it myself. So...for G60 Corrado, what should I be looking at for Oil and filter change? I know Kwik-fit charge 34...but am also aware they are not VW filters etc..so keep your hair on. VW dealer quoted £95 !! and local VW place in Aberdeen said £64. Seems heeluva steep to me? What u reckon is best?
  10. Where do we start??? Firstly, surely you should worry about getting it going well and reliably before getting a kit (sacrilige) and carbon fibre hood. Then as for conversion to vr6, you would be best buying a vr6 from the word go. If you want the G60 up and going then budget 600 quid for rebuild adn then look to get chip and pulley to get vr bhp. If the engine is thrashed tho you should get a compression test and sort that out to or any other mods are kinda pointless. have a squizz thro the forums for advice as there's heaps on all this about good luck :)
  11. Yeah was gonna do that tomorrow. Although I heard that elephant (who I currently have very good quote on for my C) will ensure them cheaper than a UK N/A Could be b******s tho :) I'll let you know tomorrow. So anyone know what sorta comparison there is between a stage 4 G60 and mr2 turbo from 70 to 140 or whatever?
  12. Gonna go for one around 4k i reckon If I decide to change the Corrado and get a decent price for mine Such a decision tho :/
  13. hehe :) was only a matter of time
  14. 300bhp would just be mental in such a wee car :) The mod list isn't realy all that extensive to get him 300bhp so there is hope :) Apparently the engines can take a fair bit of boost increase very happily. I have just been filling my brain with info from the net over the last few days. I haven't seen many MR2 turbo's going about Aberdeen, do all the turbos have twin exhausts? I am really gutted I missed that one for 2400 as it sounded perfect. Mind you, would needed to have sold corrado first anyway. Don't suppose you know anybody looking to buy a G60 :)
  15. The 2 seat thign doesn't bother me at all, I kinda see it as a plus :) Haven't driven one yet but am going to look at a few this week I think. I used to have a E36 320 so was used to the rwd in that, all though I imagine the power the tubo puts out could mean potential tree wrappage. They just seem to have such a good reliabilty record and so cheap and easy to mod. Whats the top end acceleration like? (from 70mph upwards)
  16. Been really tempted by a Rev 3 MR2 GT Turbo of late. Probably the only other car I would consider changing my G60 for in the price range. Typical too as a 1993 50k mile Black GT-Tbar leather etc.. just sold this weekend 20 miles down the road for 2400! I know I would regret selling the Corrado but the thought of making a 300bhp mr2 is very tempting What's your opinion on them?

  18. Just checked my log book - its LP7Z so thats Light Grey Metallic There was also: Graphite Metallic (Grey) B7V Quartzite Metallic D7Y Diamond Silver Metallic 97A Pearl Effect Paint A7U (grey??) Satin Silver Metallic B7Z These were the colours from the older Cs (from about 1993 back)
  19. digilag? or are the 16v kjet?? need to be more precise
  20. and living in london? I doubt it, tho stranger things have happened. I guess most ppl go the golf gti/driver --- corrado route when a bit older. I am 24 and insurance is under 600 quid for me fuly comp
  21. roddy will be he's really against keeping c's standard ;)
  22. If theres one thing I dont like about the corrado, its the gearbox. Far to soft Would be good if you could do something like the weighted shift rod on golf mk2s. I also thought gearbox oil was meant to be changed at major services? or at least when the belts are done?
  23. yeah the G60 is much more raw. very different cars indeed. I didnt expect much difference before I drove one. why not try both?

    Door membrane

http://www.matey-matey.com/leak_prevention.shtml good article there. I had to sort the doors on my mk2 GTi. Had a puddle in the back seat :/
