Thanks - anybody know where I can buy this part - not sure if they are still available at the VW dealers. They are a part that go frequently as I gather from viewing a few threads on the subject on this site but none of them mentioned where I could get the part. I wish to replace the entire unit rather than be fiddling around with separate O rings. Is there a specific part No for the G60. I know the G60 engine operates at a higher temperature than other Corrado engines?

I got a Mann oil filter for my Corrado G60 serial No W 719/21 - says it was made in Germany. Just googled it to see has it the non return valve (it does) and see that they are available at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Mann-Filter-719-21-Spin-Filter/dp/B000CB7EK6 WOW the cool "check Fit" facility on the amazon site also confirmed its the right filter for the corrado G60.

So got my Corrado fixed - the technical description given to me by the excellent Polish mechanic went right over my head so am not sure what he was on about but now another fault detected - a water leak. It seems to be coming from this plastic unit where it joins the engine block. I seem to recall a similar fault occurring in my Golf GTi - what is the name of this unit - some thermostat housing I think?

So yesterday my Corrado just stopped - as in the engine just cut out. No spluttering or anything fancy like that just driving along and silence. Been driving great up until then with no hint of trouble. Got it towed back to the house but mechanic says there is no power going to the coil but he won't look at it until the new year. Thinking it must be some sensor or relay as it was so sudden. Any suggestions?

Is this exhaust exclusively for the VR6 then? - there is a Milltek exhaust on my 1992 G60 but I am not sure which type - must look through the service paperwork. What does resonated mean?

Me too - id be interested in buying some covers that is.

Thanks Rob placed an order - the relevant thread is in the Forum Group Buys section. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?93063-Front-VR6-Badges-Red-and-Silver-stickers

Front VR6 Badges, Red and Silver stickers
Alfagtman replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in Forum Group-Buys
PM sent - I would like two G60 as well please in RED - by two I mean one for the front and rear. I am not sure if these badges are different sizes? Only thing is a revamped G60 badge will leave my 'supercharged' badge at the rear looking a little neglected by comparison. But at least we know now that the colour is VW Tornado red so I might work something out there with my skilled hands. -
Id like to have a set on standby as it seems they are a frequent item stolen from the cars. I am on the lookout for a complete set front and rear. Any ideas of what part number this front badge is for the early or later grille? 20219496 Also is there any method of brightening up the red paint - I saw it being done of the VR6 wheeler dealers. The red paint on mine is sort of faded.

Welcome to the board - no idea how to fix any of that stuff though but in relation to the wipers from previous experience with other cars looks like you need another control unit / lever switch for the steering column.

Thanks - its the later body style but it still has the old style interior except for the steering wheel. Find it hard to get the right spark plugs for its service but they are on the way from Germany to my local motor factors. Weather has been terrible here since I brought it back but have managed to change the oll and filter as well as air filter. Its all registered and taxed now for Irish use but I was 15 minutes late for my NCT (MOT) today and they turned me away so now have to wait until Dec 17th unless there is a cancellation. The VRT (Irish import tax) was €1,434. Loving it so far but must kick myself now and again not to neglect my other toys over it.

No problem - I have had the 997 since 2009. It does not get used as much as I would like - hate taking it out in wet weather.

Not wanting to seem too smug but I actually own a 2005 997 Carerra S and a Corrado G60 (among other cars). I don't think its very useful comparing the two performance wise. Obviously the 997 would leave the G60 standing but the Corrado is a much more useable car for regular use. Even though I am ultra careful with all my cars I simply would not park the 997 on the street or leave it unsupervised for very long in the multi storey car park. Also other than changing the oil and filter a 997 requires more specialised servicing than a regular Corrado so from a DIY standpoint the Porsche is not much good. I would not change a Corrado for a Porsche 996 however. The 996 in my opinion is a very dull car aesthetically in the exterior and especially the interior.

Anybody know the best spacer for all 4 wheels on a 92 Corrado G60. Id like to be able to get the standard BBS G6o wheels to fill the arches more without changing the wheels or tyres and without adversely affecting the handling.

Had no clue where I was at the time I took the pics. I was travelling from Birmingham (after picking up the leather interior) to Holyhead ferry port. I expect it was in the middle of Wales somewhere.

It might have taken 27 years of dreaming about it but its finally happened. Can't believe I have finally got to own a Corrado - let alone a G60 version. Just brought my car into Ireland from the UK a few days ago so still getting to know it. Was a long drive back from the UK (near Plymouth). Picked up a nice black leather interior for it too on the way back with all the black plastic trim too. Here it is. Pictures on the way back in Wales and later in the ferry.
