it would probably be cheaper to buy another cd changer, i dont think there is an adapter availliable anyway :|
-
its allways better to remove the supply but i have removed/refitted the clocks plenty of times without removing the supply (its a pita to set the stereo up each time the battery is disconnected)
-
finally got around to buying a new strobe as i needed it to set the timing up for the chip and pulley, it is pinking slightly and the knock sensor seems to do nothing when i hit the block, so where the cheapest place to get one?
-
im not 100% sure of that but the parts counter guy said they where listed for all new lupo's
-
i think all new lupo's are now fitted with the aero blades arent they :|
-
yep mine has developed a nice growl and my airbox is not even drilled 8)
-
WAHOOOOOOOOOOO!! was very similar to my reaction about half an hour ago when i finished fitting mine, i nearly sh*t myself  she's considerably quicker the throttle response is instant its much smoother through the revs and sounds brilliant 8) only problem is, i think i need bigger brakes  thanks darren :notworthy:

it might be possible to use your existing barrels and just change the plates over, thats what i did, you just dissasemble each barrel and remove all the plates then fit each plate with the key in the barrel so that the plate sits flush, sounds confusing but once you have the barrels apart it should become clear
-
henny gets my vote for doing so much to his but still keeping the g-lader when most with that sort of spec would have changed to a centrifugal charger, so it is still a g60 8)
-
Are they? Well it wouldn't surprise me - Vauxhall never made a diesel engine in their lives, IIRC. Certainly the 1.7d and 1.7td models were either Subarus or brand... hyundai  i used to have a diesel astra as a company van with the hyundai engine it was utter crap
-
the lotus elise was designed from the ground up and then had the vx220 body stuck on top
-
even vauxhall's "revolutionary new diesel engines" are rebadged fiat/alfa romeo jtd engines arent they?
-
thats what i keep thinking, if i hadnt bought the c i would still be driving that crappy mr2  and there is no way i would even think of buying a bmw i can only think of a couple of beemers that come anywhere near the level of style of the corrado and despite the high maintainance costs and tendency for something else to allways go wrong with the corrado i still love it and dont think i will sell it for a very long time (i really need a girlfriend dont i)

I'll show my "appreciation" alright.... ;) i suppose you could wrap the letter around a brick

Through contacts, that I may be able to tap into again. I should know more after Xmas, I hope, as I'm planning on meeting up with a few over in Germany. Tempest even if nobody from vw could make it to the 2005 meet, do you think any of your contacts could get a message from the people at karmann/vw, to be read out at the meet or put up on the forum for the anniversary of the last corrado's  i suppose we could all put our names on a thank you letter to karmann/vw to show our appreciation for the corrado
-
sounds more likely to be one of those traffic counters, i often see groups of people with hi vis vests holding clip boards standing on bridges. something to do with highways agency and volume of traffic surveys :|
-
i remember seeing some sketches somewhere of the original corrado concept and some models before the active spoiler was added i know the components where mostly borrowed from other previous models but surely the body shape must have been one persons idea as it dosnt really look like anything else produced by vw/karmann and to quote from another site The car was originally going to be called the Taifun, Typhoon in German. This would have kept with the tradition of naming VWs after winds. The name Corrado comes from a Spanish verb "Correr" meaning "Sprint".
-
i think it did say on the ccgb site but thats still down :|
-
i was just wondering was there one designer credited with the concept or original design of the corrado? is he still alive? if this 2005 aniversary corrado mass meet comes together as well as i think it could, then it would be quite nice to invite its creator as guest of honor if he is still alive that is

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
coolrado replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
i would have thought 4 categories would be better original (or very close to original) modified body work tuned with original engine transplant engine/drivetrain that should divide the group up quite well and maybe the winners of each group could go head to head for an overall winner it would also be quite handy to have a brief spec and history for each car as some of the newer forum members may not appreciate the blood, sweat, tears and barrow loads of money  that has gone in to them. -
What have I done, yet another prob..!! no beep....
coolrado replied to SilverG60's topic in Engine Bay
there should be two horns behind the grill, at least there is on mine check the voltage at the connectors could be a blown fuse  -
thats why this thread's a sticky allways here for future reference if you chuck your old arms and blades make sure you keep the plastic cap that covers the fixing nut as the kit wont come with them might also be worth marking where your old blades sit to line the new ones up

Corrado Forum Car of the Year - Nominations
coolrado replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in General Car Chat
i was just thinking that some people have put more effort into the mechanical and engine side of things and not really changed the appearance of their cars so allthough i like the look of osv the most, i liked what henny had done with his engine and still kept it a g60, and phats monster is looking like its going to be awsome with its grafted in lump its hard to pick just one as they are all exceptional for totally different reasons  -
