eh ........... you've got a rusty guitar???? oh you mean wing  pretty much anything you try to stop rust wont work as once the moisture has got in there your fighting a loosing battle most body shops would grind back and fill the rusty patch :(

i have been looking for a removable tow bar for mine for a while to tow the mountain bike trailer as i dont like the idea of putting them on the roof or boot

put your hand under the throttle body and feel for the dumped pressure when you rev it using the trottle linkage . you should hear a slight whoosh even at 3k when sharply releasing the throttle, its only really noticeable when under load though.

if there are going to be no more made after this lot i might know someone who would buy the mould

how many confirmed buyers do you need for this GB to go ahead?? or is it just as and when they get done ?

you need to change the title of the thread it should be origin b2

just to clear up the difference between RMS and PMPO (also known as argos watts) PMPO The term PMPO is actually a cheat. It means peak music power output and it's the maximum of power that a speaker can handle. Actually, if you feed an 80W PMPO rated speaker with 80W of power it will blow in less than a second. Power has to be specified in watts RMS (which is 0.707 of the true voltage). Output power (W) is voltage (V) multiplied by current (I). W=V*I Voltage and current are measured as RMS values. Than you can calculate power. A speaker rated 80W PMPO is nominally 4W RMS rated. When you divide the PMPO value with 20 you will get the REAL rated power. For example, lets take an Aiwa stereo, there is a sticker at the front which screams 450Watts PMPO. Well, when worked out it is actually 23Watts RMS, big difference. PMPO is fake, it's cheating.

someones dropped a trolley jack on the inductive pick-up of my timing gun so i will have to get another one tommorow  i have checked the torque and it seemed far too tight when i undid it so i torqued it up properly why cant the functionallity of the knock sensor be checked ?? i understand that it cant be checked using the diagnostics system as it hasnt got one but you should still be able to check it is working by using the method i mentioned as the knock sensor simply detects detonation and retards the ignition so fooling it by tapping the block should have the same effect
-
dunno i have'nt had chance to check yet as i am still in work :( will let you know later.......... thats if i can find my strobe light

youve got a pm 8)

the slackness in the box could just be gear linkage bushes which are cheap and easy to replace, was it difficult to get into any gears?? -
i dont know if this has been posted before, or if its common knowledge but i was flicking through a haynes ecu and electrical system manual (riveting reading i know) and came across a simple test for the knock sensor, all you need to do is connect a timing strobe to plug number 1 and observe the timing mark while tapping the engine block close to the knock sensor (dont actually hit the sensor or its bolt) and the timing should retard each time it is hit i suspect i have a dodgy knock sensor so i will be testing this out this evening 8)
-
i will definately have one of the clear ones :D there was mention of some white plastic shells as well are these still availiable???....if they are i may also have one depending on the price  i allready have the electric spoiler mech ready 8)

the stall at dubfreeze had a big box full and they where new and 5quid per pair i even had a leaflet for the company but i lost it and cant remember their name  i was going to get a set but thought they may be a little too easy to hook with a coat hanger  it was the first or second stall on the left hand side as you went into the indoor bit if that jogs anyones memory :)
-
the guages sometimes drop to o after doing this test though and you may need to dismantle the clocks and re-connect the mechanism but it shouldnt damage it. my temp guage was getting a little sluggish recently so i decided to have a fiddle and it seems the sticky grease used to dampen and lubricate the pivots for the temp needle gets much more sticky with the cold weather so i removed a bit of the excess grease and the needle now seems more accurate 8)

the clutch kit was about 80 quid iirc, my c was on its original clutch at 123,000 and the drive plates where hardly worn, would probably be worth uprating the clutch with that sort of power though have a search i am sure there is something about changing to a vr clutch on here
-
the shunting used to be terrible on my g60 even after i replaced all three engine mounts. then my clutch locked up and when i replaced that it did improve considerably, the clutch springs where so worn out they where loose in their holders and one had broken free  there is still a little slack but that has to be expected on a car of this age i suppose :(
-
you shouldnt get any oil coming out of it, i have the boost return mod on mine with the outlet venting directly onto the bulkhead (only because the ducting i used blew to bits) and there is not even a residue of oil, but i have had a recent charger rebuild and before that there was a large amount of oil in the boost pipes as the charger exhaust seal was screwed
