gunmetal grey looks fab on that rado
-
no worries :)

if i had the money to to a full rebuild i would. the head gasket has only just been done. the guides alone come to £250. I havent got that kind of money at the moment, hence trying to do it this way.

I recall a grey/yellow and brown beung one of the switches where the fog light switches etc are. cant recall exactly which one it is though. could well be fog light switch. mines a 95 vr6

Would have thought anything below 130 on any cylinder is buggered. I nice average to see would be about 140 - 150.
-
yep, there are a few floating about with air con.
-
sounds like you have got a good one there! Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your new rado! The spoiler issue - apart from obvious stuff like fuses etc, could possibly be the spoiler control module. If you want check it, try and borrow a working one and plug it in. They sit behind the dash, just above where the spoiler switch is.

Once we have the tools and have replaced them, we will let you know :)
-
Right, we found the list of tools needed and a guide how to do it. Just waiting for prices to borrow/buy the tools. :)
-
Yep it is the right one! Thank god for that! found somewhere that does the Z-engineering parts. :)
-
hello and welcome to the forum. good luck with viewing that corrado. :) 5k does seem a bit steep to be honest. I would have said maybe 3.5k - 4k providing it has no problems

£10 isnt too bad when I managed to get £50 off my insurance by giving my insurance company my ccgb membership no. You can also usually wangle discount off parts from the dealers.
-
Id probably put it up for £500 but allow for offers
-
i didnt say he didnt - he just didnt need to be so rude.
-
ok well I hope you get it sorted.
-
So you keep feckin telling us..... worry about something more important. any need to be so rude?
-
thank you :)
-
congrats :) feels good doesnt it :)

Could be anything we said really. just becasue the thermostat housing is new doesnt mean to say its not that. I know someone who went through 3 new ones in a month. Check that all the flanges on the housing are sealed corretly.
-
Could possibly be a crack in the head or a faulty head gasket. Double check that the plastic water pipe that goes into the back of the water pump housing, and/or the thermostat housing for leaks. Also double check all coolant hoses especially the hose that goes into the bottom of the electric water pump. Also check for any cracks in the header tank itself and that the cap is still making a good seal.
-
If you are just doing the head gasket, the only real thing to check is the top tensioner. The 2.8 head is the same as the 2.9 head. The vr6 doesnt really respond well to head work.

How noisey is a bit noisy on the chains? Bottom end is grumbly - what do you mean? Its not necessarily shot - Need info on the above
