1. First off, Im not a bloke and I would happily take over any duties asked of me regarding the CCGB. Secondly, Eric's comments were mostly generalised about comments various members have made recently, not specifically about my enquiry which was originally asking if anyone knew where our copies were. I emailed the general club address to ask this and then a second time when I had no response. I didnt at any time question Vicki's abilities or the committee's abilities of running the club as I received a confirmation email back from vicki regarding our new address details and even mentioned this to Eric. I merely asked Eric if he knew what happened. He then looked on the system and read out our old address and told me to email vicki's address with my query. As stated in vicki's email, she did not know what list he had. Not once did I actually put blame on anyone for this situation I was just trying to find out what happened. I have never complained about the CCGB nor will I ever. I understand the stress and strains of running a voluntary club like the CCGB. I merely had an enquiry. I have obviously caused a problem by asking a question and I appologise for that, I will never enquire anything again. I cant honestly see how my one question to the club generally has led to Vicki resigning, it cannot honestly be just my single question being forwarded to her that has led her to this decision.
2. so why not just say "can I help you?" instead of ignore the female and saying "can I help you sir?". they may give you the bill but who actually pays for it?
3. well finally got everything on our list yesterday. oly took 3 trips. They couldnt process our refund on some of the parts we took back though as he needed to speak to the original guy who served us who has left. So we are waiting for a call today ffs
4. just calle dup to check the correct parts were ordered and are in (bare in mind the guy we were dealing has left now). He managed to order 2 sets of everything left on the list lol Ah well, going to pick them up later
5. we are all fans of the mag then
6. welcome to the forum. Good luck with your search :)
7. Page 9 "The Mass Debate" "LADIES: Are girls really interested in the watercooled VW world, or are they only onboard to look good attached to the arm of the bloke that (probably?!) built their car for them? We've had a barrage of emails suggesting young ladies only go along to car shows because their caveman boyfirends drag them there. We disagree, do you? Let us know via our email addy: mailto:[email protected]" Discuss (Needless to say I sent them a very long email with my views)
8. no idea. I guess they know we have to give in on most parts and go to them for them so we have no choice
9. On a different note, I decided to find out how much the DOHC cover is as the vr6 estate needs one.....£60! not sure iif that included vat or not  decided against getting a new one
10. lol well this is the dealership in bromley which I usually avoid cuz I know they are crap. The sevenoaks one is fab and they are great but I chose the bromley one as we dont live here anymore but its on my way to work.
11. bought mine in June 2004 as it is seen in my 1st (left) pic in my signature
12. Right, so we went back this morning to get the parts that the guy didnt order for last saturday. There was a female servicewoman there who asked BOTH OF US if she can helped, then informed the guy we saw before that there was a COUPLE here to see him........so that all went well. The guy comes out with the other parts. orginal list was.... vr6 headgasket set 2 oil filters for a vr6 2 sump plugs for a vr6 inlet manifold gaskets for a vr6 what we picked up on saturday... vr6 headgasket set (minus the bolts!) 1 inlet manifold gasket 2 oil filters 2 sump plugs what he came out with today... 8 head bolts for a 4 cylinder 1 inlet maifold gasket for a 4 cylinder an o ring for a 4 cylinder 1 gasket for the throttle body for a 4 cylinder He brought up ETKA to show us that there was only 1 inlet manifold gasket. Showed us a diagram and said "see, there is only one". We then pointed out that the diagram was NOT of a VR6!! He then pulled up two more diagrams which were not of a VR6. Then finally got the right one. So he then ordered the correct 2 gaskets for the inlet manifold for a VR6. We got him to check the bolts, they were wrong, so he then ordered the set of 10 for a VR6. The o ring was wrong as was the gasket for the throttle body. FFS! I mean he just clicked on "corrado" from the list! Didnt bother to look for the correct fecking engine!! So we left rather p*ssed off witht he whole. My car is going in tomorrow to get the head gasket done! So we have to come back tomorrow to get the correct parts then take them to the garage on thursday (they are not starting work on it til thursday thank god!) So we then looked at the other things we picked up on saturday. The oil filters.......Nope not even those were for a VR6!!!! So I had to call just now to get them in for tomorrow aswell. The only thing remaining on the list is the sump plugs. We dont know off the top of our heads if there is just one size for all sumps so we need to check that against the ones on my rado and on the mr's vr6 estate. its this parts guys last day there today....Cant imagine why!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
13. doubtful as he was looking directly at my other half.
14. WOW. Wedge looks great! Good to see him go to a good home.
15. Its good to know they would pull a corrado over when seen. Just the fact that if someone had nicked it they would get stopped! :)
16. Believe me, if he does it again on tuesday he will get a right bollocking!
17. Why couldnt he just have said "Can I help you?" instead of "Can I help you sir?"
18. well we finally got the zorst raised up into the sill and dropped his bum down....
