Repair / Strengthen / ReCover / Stealth my parcel shelf...
RadoAds replied to Jim's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
its better if you use a solid piece of mdf surrounding your speakers as your speakers will sound a hell of a lot better, it gives your 6x9s something to work against, if whatever you bolt your speakers to move (as in the OEM shelf) you lose the clarity and definition in the sound as the speaker moves and not just the cone. As for material use some accoustic cloth as mentioned above.....just my 2 penneth  -
I worked as a manager for a Kwik Fit style (or charlie browns to anyone who knows it) exhaust and tyre centre for 10 years and I wouldnt recommend anything but Magnex, the quality and fit of their systems is second to none, as for other brands if a customer came in with any other brand we would normally charge more than if it was a magnex just because we knew it would take longer to fit and probably would need some subtle adjustment :x , In my time there I probably fitted at least a couple of hundred performance systems and at least 50 magnex systems, I had only one problem with a magnex and that was on a Mk 2 golf and was probably just a bad one, so magnex all the way Blown 8)

mk2 all the way, not as economical as a diesel but at least you still have some street cred 8)

Corrado T-Shirts ideas/Pre-Production NEW DESIGNS IN! 10/11
RadoAds replied to Red=Fast's topic in General Car Chat
No I agree that they should be one for all, not model specific. Although I would prefer it if we could stick to a retro sort of design, as I would like to be able to wear it without feeling I should grow a beard first, and not knocking this forum but I would prefer it if the forum name could be kept minimalist, how about 2 or 3 inches long just below the neck on the back or printed down one sleeve subtley -
Corrado T-Shirts ideas/Pre-Production NEW DESIGNS IN! 10/11
RadoAds replied to Red=Fast's topic in General Car Chat
I like the design, its a bit retro like the t-shirts with the capris on, or starsky and hutch, the only thing ive noticed with stuff like this is its normally printed on crap quality t shirts that once washed you look like a bag o sh*te tied in the middle, (or could that just be me and my well honed body :( ), anyway if the designs like the one in the pic and they are good quality then I'd be up for one, depending on price obviously..............oh and it would have to be XXL..........(back to the well honed body again)......oh well -

Yeah im not so sure on the outers either, the above pic looks like they are U shapes rather than full rings, sorta spoils it for me :(

GTI and Performance Car Show at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry
RadoAds replied to Tempest's topic in General Car Chat
Just looked at Stoneleighs website and it says its the classic and performance ford show on the 3rd of october, oh and also a spaniel show  , how many dubs are there as ive never been to it before, although I have been to the annual capri show more than once  -
k+n and drilled box worked for me, although pipercross do a cone type that replaces the air box, I think flusted has one on here if i remember correctly with a carbon heat shield

Sounds like the coil spring mate to me, if its a very loud knock then its unlikely to be cv joint, or ball joints, it could be that the coil needs to be seated properly or more likely the very tip of one of the ends has sheared for whatever reason and is not seated upto the raised section on the cup that the spring sits in, hopefully not many pennies to put right for you :D

My wife bought me the Elise track day at Donnington some years ago, it was brilliant and one of the best days ive ever had, I thought the instructor would have only let you go fast up to a point, but surprisingly he wanted me to nail it silly which was ok by my  , after an awesome afternoon he then tried to scare me by really pushing it himself for a final lap but i think I upset him by asking him questions about the state of tune of the Elise rather than holding on for dear life, anyway i'd highly recommend it, but like someone said earlier contact your local track first as they do tend to offer the better deals and i dont think that they would let you push a 100k ferrari round a track like they did the Elise, I liked it that much we ended up calling our daughter Elise, good job i didnt take the Peugeot 306 gti which was also on offer or she'd have got picked on something rotten at school :(
