  2. HUs arent that bad these days - I was able to run JL 3ways off one for a little while. was the good JVC if i remember right. great HU :)
  3. cheers will try them tomorrow :)
  4. if they are in the std locations will they be 2Ohm? As the 2 drivers on each side would be in parallel and each will be 4Ohm. as i say tho unplug the dash ones and this will bring the load to 4Ohms.
  5. unplug the dash ones and see how u go from there. that may help lack of bass. also may help tinnyness as the std setup doesnt have tweeters down below as well as up top and if you are using 2 sets of coaxials (each with their own tweeters) they may well get harsh!
  6. anything thats good out of the box for a std engine? not easy to get people (cheaply) to do remaps over here.
  7. no joy - doesnt keep them :(
  8. hmmm could you be any more insulting? whats the harm in doing the door and if it looks pants then do the blending? doing a quick buff on the rest of the car should bring the laquer up well to match.
  9. ok heres my take on it. - just get the door done. if its a cheap car then no point spending megabucks on a respray. unless you want a concours std car that is! - prep the door yourself. the hardest part I find of a door is stripping it. that means glass out, trim off, handle out etc. sure you can mask to the strip and around the handle but it might just flake at the edges. Dont worry about the sanding and filling etc. the body guy will prob redo it anyway even if you do it. - I wouldnt bother blending into the panels. if it looks sh!te after then sure get it done. wont cost any more overall I wouldnt think and worth a try without it. - let the bodyshop guy get the paint - he WILL get it a lot cheaper than you.
  10. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thats explains the uncanny resemblence to a jack handle then lol!!!
  11. my car has bilstein all round which is black shocks and red springs. now in the boot I found what looks like an adjustment tool (like a crappy std jack handle) which says bilstein on it. anyone shed any light? cheers -pablo
  12. yeah but time is of the essence :)
  13. ok after a pair of front fogs. have come up with: GPC: £55 ea (out of stock) GSF: N/A ECP: £68 ea VW: £71 ea any other suppliers like GPC out there? cheers -pablo
  14. there is a little bracket which matches the 2 bolts on the wing perfectly but if you attached the bracket the bonnet would never close
  15. umm actually it did - bugger. says to 91 only  doesnt say anything about the strut braces tho.
  16. well they never mentioned that :(
  17. hi all - I bought some stuff from volksbits and Ive no idea how it fits. strut braces - only looked at the front upper but the holes on the brace dont line up to any holes on the strut tower (in fact there dont seem to be any!!). also the bonnet lifter completely baffles me as the instructions are in german and no pics. any advice appreciated :) -pablo
