Check for any exposed wire in the loom. It may be grounding itself out. I had the same situation in my Mk3.

Well...you guys got to remember that the steering wheel is going to be 12+ years old. If you have rings on your fingers...that won't help either. The top of the wheel is a common place for people to put their hand and its also the spot the sun hits most of the time when parked...therefore accelerating the wear even more.

I waxed my Revell Corrado when I took it out of the box. :drinking:

Can you afford to run a corrado, 1.11 per litre?
RS VR6 replied to anndy's topic in General Car Chat
So its roughly a 10usd difference for 18 gallons between the US and the UK. Its about 3.50 per US gallon for 91 octane(the best we can get here in California). -
I would just pick up a used one in better condition, or you can get a Polo G40 one...or maybe a snazzy aftermarket Momo/Sparco one.

I guess it depends on who the company uses to ship the stuff. Insurance really drives up the price of shipping. I shipped some Robotech stuff over to the UK a couple months ago...the package was about 6-7lbs. Cost me about 50usd to ship without insurance. That gave me $100 towards the package if it gets lost. This was using the United Stated Postal Service. The package got there in about a week and a half. If theres any small items you guys may need...let me know if I can help you out.

Theres no way around the VAT? I got some parts freighted in from Taiwan straight to my door...I don't recall paying any taxes. VF has a special now...3000usd for the stage 2 SC kit. That has got to be cheaper than what you guys can get in the UK...even after shipping and taxes? :? The Samcos should be the same. I recall someone saying that the only difference is that the UK ones don't come with the two small hoses off the oil cooler. Samcos are going for 300 shipped locally with the clamps.
-
Why don't you guys buy parts from the States? With the falling dollar your going to get stuff for dirt cheap even with the shipping. I remember a while back people were trying to get Samcos in the UK, and it had some ridiculous three week wait time. If you ordered them from the states...you would have gotten them in a week and a half...on top of that...it would have been cheaper. The only down side is if you want to make a warranty claim...it could be a pain. Just curious thats all. If I was able to get stuff in another country for way cheap...you bet I'd be all over it.

I looks like a customized Minichamps version.
-
You should order from the US...with the falling dollar, you'll get twice as much.
-
I'd start off with a pair of cams and a chip. Those two mods will give you real world horsepower...instead of just noise from an exhaust system. You can order a pair of Autotech 262 cams for around 240usd. With the falling US dollar...even with the shipping will probably be cheaper than any place you can find in the UK.

An RS4 made my VR6 look like it was standing still...
RS VR6 replied to DEL VR6's topic in General Car Chat
I don't need too because mine was !! ;-) Boxster S was a piece of p*ss to beat ;-) Never raced an RS4 but I did beat a 996 Carrera 4S on the way to the 06 E38 show though ;-) Sorry John.. 8) Ben There are always exceptions to the rule. Last I heard...Corrados didn't come with 340 hp and AWD from the factory. ;-) -

Drove my friend's B7 RS4...lol...that things fast. 80-100 in 6th...woah! ! ! Sure a higher powered VRT can beat a RS4...already rolling on the highway in a straight line thats about it. -
Its possible that the ECU is bad...but there are at least a dozen things that can cause what you described. The ECU boards are known to short. I am currently having a strange issue with the check engine light. It'll intermittently come on only at idle. When I scan it...it'll say "no signal from the 02 sensor". I've already replaced the O2, the wiring, and the O2 heater relay. Since the ECU controls the O2, I'm going to open the ECU and see if there are any burn marks on the board.

I had the same thing happen on my mk3. It got to the point to where the key would no longer turn. Changed out the ignition switch...problem gone.

Interesting...never seen a closed grill before. So it goes to countries that dosen't get above 70F(21C)?
-
Does anyone have pics of it installed?
-
It could be a replica. My Kamei came with brackets, screws, and TUV papers. There is a sticker on the passenger side of the grill spoiler. I think I either paid 80 or 60usd for it...can't remember.

Heres one... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Corrado-grille-sp ... dZViewItem

Kinda looks like a smashed down Cayenne... :?
-
I'll save my judgement until after I see the official images.
-
Its a seperate Kamei part.

The numbers I've seen for VGi + 268's are around 170-175 wheel horsepower...on a Dynojet. About 195-200 bhp. The cars also have a chip, 2.25 catback exhaust and an intake.
-
I'm paying 3.21 per US gallon. Almost 60usd for a 18 gallon fill...

I rock the badge.
