  1. First you have to find out why the motor blew. There could be a million factors to cause an engine to blow. AMD not wanting to install a charger means nothing. There are plenty of people here in Caifornia Running 300+ hp on their daily driven 1.8t's. Even more on the east coast. There are ways to make reilable power...it just depends on who the tuner is and how responsible the driver is. I'm talking first hand experience...not just something I heard. :thumbleft:
  2. Are you guys speaking from experience? I don't know where this early engine demise info is coming from. My friend also had this kit on his mk3 VR...its had 175k on the clock...and he beat on the car...stock clutch and all. If you drive the car normally...the engine will last...if you abuse the car...then well, it won't. Its all on how you drive the car. On a stage 1 VF kit you adding around 60bhp...hardly enough to reduce the life of the engine. If your adding a turbo kit that increases the output by 150 plus, then you may have some added wear. The VR6 bottom end can handle well over 550 to the wheels...and that's been proven over and over by the guys over here. Also a SC kit dosen't shock the engine like a turbo kit when the boost kicks in.

  4. There are 215 35's?? I wish we got those sizes out here.

    Sparkplugs

I wouldn't do it unless you go turbo or SC. I would just stick to the standard factory plugs. I am running the Denso plugs on SC'ed motor. IK 20 for normal motors IK 22 for forced induction motors
  6. I have a stage two VF charger on my car. If your motor is healthy, it will take the charger just fine. My kit was installed at 80k. You do not need to make any internal modifications to your motor. VF designed their kits to be bolt on and go. I've got the stage 2 kit and have had no problems...and I've put over 15k on the V9 Vortech charger. The one thing I do recommend doing is, changing to stiffer motor mounts.
  7. Maybe check the rear upper strut mounts...they could be worn...
  8. You can get adapters made....but hey need to be a minimum of 20mm.
  9. Your parking brake cable probably froze...
  10. I pulled a clean pair off a G60. Dosen't look to be that messy. I'll report when I put them on in the next few days...
  11. Nope...well maybe...with a moderate drop...

    Third brake light ?

I have an extra one if you want it. I picture it being a pain to install it on a car without one.
  13. Nope...its my own part...waiting for it to go into production.
  14. 90 and up Momo #8014 88 and older Momo #8010
  15. Took my VR6 to 130 running my friends E36 M3. He had no chance. :cyclops2:
  16. I'm using all three of the VF motor mounts. They are made of poly and aluminum. Shifting from 1st to 2nd made a huge difference...the transition is super smooth. The difference can also be felt when driving on a mountain road, when your constantly shifting. The bad is the engine vibration...performance or comfort...your decision. KCD and Turn2 make full poly inserts and are a bit more foregiving than the VF. The VF ones are complete replacements. I really can't recommend the solid mounts. The motor has to have some movement. If the motor has no play, then the shock and vibration will absorbed by the motormount brackets or the sub-frame. That can lead to broken sub-frames and brackets. Unless you are a hardcore drag racer...I don't recommend them. Just my opinion...
  17. Any of you UK guys want to hook me up?
  18. nope...drilled a new set of holes.
  19. This set was re drilled
  20. Hats off the all the cars in the poll...I give mado props to all the guys that put their blood, sweat, and tears into their rides. ...but when the dust settled...I picked A20's ride. Its one incredible ride...the details and the thought that went into the car...is insane. It was a close one for A20 and Renshaw... Hopefully this summer I will get the chance to see all these incredible cars in person. -Lee

    VR6 engines

Now that's a plan! Could be a sudden demand for AMYs (if they are indeed a lower CR) if your plan works  Dunno about the finding info on the specs. Did America get the Sharan etc? The Vortex 12V VR6 forum might be a good place to look? No, we didn't get the Sharan here in the states. We only have the Eurovan (Transporter).
  22. The easiest place to T the boostline is the fuel pressure regulator. The vacuum line that leads to it basically reads the manifold pressure. Under idle, the needle should be in the Vac area. The gauge would only show boost under acceleration.
