  1. Recaro's of a sort ;-) but still need someone to help me out here ?
  2. so is it a case of removing subframes from a set of standard corrado seats and swapping them over ? How are subframes fixed onto standard seats, is it bolts etc ? Do you mean the subframes would potentially NOT need to be swapped over Darren ?
  3. They are recaro's BTW, so what all is entailed to get them sitting at correct height etc ? Can I use standard corrado subframes or do they have to be corrado RECARO subframes ?
  4. Ok, To cut a long story short just won a set of seats on eBay and rather nice they are too ;-) However, they are from a MK2 Golf so I realise they although they will fit straight into the rado, they will sit higher than standard rado seats (and because I am over 6ft I think this will be necessary). I believe you can mod these seats to sit lower down but I need to know how this is done. So can anyone point me in the right direction ? I take it you can't just change the subframes over to rado ones ? Any help greatly appreciated, Cheers BigTartanJudge
  5. Yeah that's what I meant Jim, just excited as last thing I needed to complete my interior off and never expected to win the bidding especially for such good price ! Cheers
  6. Hey all, Need to ask a big favour really. Just won some seats on eBay but they are located in Bristol and the seller will not ship, says collection only. As they are located in Bristol so I was wondering if it would be possible for a forum member to collect them for me, wrap them all up and then keep them for a few days until I can arrange my courier to collect them ? I would be willing to pay something towards the cost of petrol and packaging etc. If anyone can help please contact me via PM or on 07977 190664 ASAP, Many thanks, BigTartanJudge
  7. Hi mate, Good luck with whatever tou decide to do, but how on earth did you manage to get 215BHP with corresponding torque from a 2.8 engine ?? That's like 41BHP over standard ! What mods have you done to achieve this and where was your car RR'd ? I take it your car must have a Schrick manifold, cams and a few other mods to achive this figure ? Sorry to seem so disbelieving but that's a lot of power over standard output for a 2.8VR, Cheers

  9. Get a Peloquin ATB diff (or Quiafe but they are more expensive) fitted to your box. Budget around £450-£500 for the diff (try here for the best price, I got mine from here, http://www.thescirocco.com/peloquin.html), and wise to get box rebuilt with new bearings and seals at same time, looking at around £300-£350 for this, so budget £850 all in. Or just buy a rebuilt box with LSD fitted already, they sometimes come up for sale on the forums, seen them for about £500-£650, Cheers and HTH
  10. Think the best way to do it is using proper metal plates and having them welded etc to the roof indents then filled with thin layer of fibreglass and smoothed over (or get them lead-filled but not many places will do this now) otherwise it will just sag crack as filler too thick. It is expensive to have done properly though as quite an involved job. Think few people on here have had it done so they will prob post up here, Cheers and HTH
  11. Don't get this one TBH, if you have comprehensive insurance, replacement windscreens are covered. Surely this was part of your policy when you took it out for the car ?? Unless there is a clause in your policy or thier terms and conditions saying they don't cover windscreens of cars over a certain age, then they have to replace it, if windscreen cover included as part of your policy. Sometimes subject to £70-£80 XS but still cheaper than forking out £220-£350 for a new screen fitted. BH, I doubt you'll be able to get a new one supplied by itself (If so it will prob be expensive this way, as most place just supply and fit. Also I wouldn't really be wanting to get a secondhand one put into my car at all (wouldn't trust a secondhand windscreen at all), and trust me, much easier to get a professional to replace the screen, as it's a pig of a job to do. Good luck and HTH
  12. It may sound weird, but I have used smooth peanut butter (cheap and easy) in the past, which incidentally also works wonders on getting black plastics / trim etc. "back-to-black". Just rub it into the trim or tyres with tough dry cloth and then clean off excess with damp cloth. Don't use too much. The same effect, although I found it not as good was using vegetable oil, but don't get any on your paint. Cheers and HTH
  13. TOO MUCH..... But noticed today when filling up my hire-car at Morrison's that standard unleaded was only 87.9p per litre........lowest I've seen it for a long time !
  14. I take it you received the under-dash shelf then mate ? let me know, Cheers
  15. If they send out an NIP (notice of intended prosecution) to you with any part of the address wrong, then they cannot prosecute you. Also if they were inside their vehicle at the time they took the reading or there wasn't another officer present then then cannot prosecute you. Cheers and HTH

    VR6 Badges

Just to clarify, the Corrado script badge, either in primer for colour-coding or the chrome-effect is no longer available from GSF, GPC or VW dealers. Both have been obsolete for over a year, VR6 chrome-effect grille badges MIGHT be available from trimsport or GPC VW/ Audi. Cheers
  17. Better ask Guy Hartley I guess on here or Radostormvr6 I for figures suppose, as they have these on their charged-up Storm's......
  18. Lovely rado man, looks real nice as standard car with subtle mods and really low miles as well ! Gorgeous combo with dark burgundy pearl and cream leather interior ! Good luck with the mods man and keep us updated, Cheers
  19. Dunno like, and I may be wrong but surely if stage 2 kits are giving 280+BHP the Schrick manifold and cams will be giving about 15-20BHP as well ?
  20. I didn't specify what condition the engine had to be in, my apologies. These are guide prices, having observed many that have been up for sale on here, ed38, club-GTI, PVW classified, breakers etc. Have seen refurbed ones, with new bits inc. rebuilt charger for £1000-£1250. I sold my one out of the K reg rado I broke for £1100 including brand new charger from VW, gearbox and ECU. And yes, have seen quite a few for for £650-£850 with no rebuilt charger, just bare engine (no ECU or gearbox, driveshafts and loom) or higher miles etc. If you saw a rebuilt one on eBay for for £800, then a rebuilt charger is going to cost you £500, so £1300 for engine with charger alone, without ancillaries. So price can vary considerably as you can see. Cheers
  21. re: my sig, I have a MK3 Passat 16V CHA box fitted to my G60, using the G60 flywheel, G60 selector and G60 starter motor so there will be no probs fitting this box.
  22. LOL, we'll see who has the last laugh guys.......have had and will have had another "few" mods done since that last RR run was done in 2004. Also the torque figure / power at wheels figure was low due to several factors, e.g worn gearbox, standard clutch, standard flywheel, no LSD AND running 9x16" wheels on the dyno......it won't be next time. And smoke you may have seen, (http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... highlight=) was due to the Schrick asymmetrical cam and the car running rich on the dyno. So I rest my case, things will only improve. I can provide a copy of the last RR printout for those that still doubt..... blue_joe, Nice figures and I do like those Porsche wheels, finishes exterior off nicely, Cheers
  23. G60 engines together with gearbox and ECU etc usually go for £1000-£1250, Cheers and HTH
