only 11 hours until i pick up my new engine and charger and i cant wait got to drive 150 miles each way but after last weekends embarrasement at the tt rolling road day 300 miles and £650 is a small price to pay in search of more bhp funky :D

putting laquer on polished alloy is not a good idea for the paint to stick it needs to be scratched or sanded it wont stick to a highly polished surface after a little while the laquer will lift letting water etc under it corroding them worse than ever when we use to polish motorcycle frames we used a product called belgum alu this will protect polished alloy for up to 6 months b4 recoating and is a lot cheaper than a bodyshop coat of laquer funky

finally got it fixed today turned out was a faulty aerial and being as they have updated the aerial i got a new long range one fitted and all for the sum of £20 i asked the dealer why these alarms are un reliable he said there is still no better alarm and most problems are remotes and aerial which are continuasly updated
-
took it to a local dealer today if its the remote these are never covered by warranty its £40 if its the aerial he will do it on the warranty anything else ill just have to wait and see but hopeing its one of these

as most of you are aware ive been having some probs getting my c to run any sense with a chip and pulley,i had it in a rolling road shoot out today with the tt owners club in bristol and now i know whats the cause only 151 bhp at the flywheel 108 at the wheels GUTTED fuelling all ok ignition all ok good power considering the amount of boost was what i was told, basically supercharger is shot so now as well as replacing my clifford i now have to get the g rebuilt aswell darren could you pm me a price for rebuild and porting funky
-
well its definetly not the battery tried re coding contacted my local dealer and found out the lifetime warranty only applies to the original purchaser which is not me, looking like a big bill sometime next week and in the meen time my c is left unlocked and not alarmed to say im not happy is an understatement :(
-
havnt had any extra chirps :(

my clifford concept 300 has just stopped working cannot get it to do anything with the key fob. i was left stranded at work last night unable to start or even lock the car. returned today with the valet code and got it started, flat battery in the key fob most likely but whats the chances of both fobs going flat at the same time or could it be something a little more involved i dont like the idea of my car being left anywhere un alarmed funky

not what ive heard but as ive never had anything done there i cant really say but he has got 2 litre g60 short engines for £1350 + vat i think seems a good deal just wondered if i could source the parts cheaper and what other things would need doing
-
yeah was thinking tsr or buying the parts and using a local engineering firm that use to do the work for tsr. to say the least tsr are a little pricey and it surprises me how highly he is thought of in mags because ive never heard anything good about him locally in fact quite the opposite
-
does anyone know anything about g60 2 litre conversions looking at prices and they seem quite good have heard horror stories about head gasket probs though tia funky

id say go for it. whenever buying a car no matter what you know about them its always a bit of a gamble surely the odds are in your favour with a recon engine and presumably this will come with a warranty. you may find as good cars for the money but how many with a garuntee the engines as good as new, worth paying a little extra for me thinks
-
welll i finally getting to the bottom of this prob i left it with the mechanic at work for a couple of hours and it seems better i had done as said on the sns site which was to mark the dizzy and try timing by ear he put a strobe on it and even on my marks its miles out so now ive lost the spluttering but it feels a little flat im thinking it needs advancing slightlybut at least now im getting somewhere
-
could someone please clarify where the knock sensor is on the engine and what colour wires go to it. i may have mistaken it for something else the part i was looking at is behind the alternator into a piece that looks like a core plug with a coax type wire, what is this? tia funk
-
still trying to solve this problem i have noticed the knock sensor wire is perished thanks beavis ill get one of these ordered going to book it into tsr ive done as much as i can time to leave it to the pro,s thanks funky

normal driving is fine its only full throttle it happens but could be anywhere in the rev range its just like hitting the limiter at say 3.5k keep it nailed kangaroos a bit and then goes on accelerating im using bosch plugs steveo29 i bought the chip and pulley new off e bay funky
-
but surely there are hundreds of g6o,s running jabba chips and they cant all run like crap i think the car may have had a slight prob b4 the chip but the extra power ie fuel boost has highlighted the problem both jabba chips have been exactly the same the car feels to me as if its not getting enough fuel but sometimes if you keep the throttle nailed it will drive thruogh it,i think its time for a rr session as tsr funk
-
i recently fitted my car with a jabbachip and pulley it ran awful spluttering so bad like it was hitting the limiter spoke to darren checked all obvious things and decided being as i bought chip secondhand off e bay this could be it, now ive fitted a new jabba chip and its like it again anyone have any ideas ? ive tried new vacum hoses, dist cap rotor arm, plugs, tried timing, all to no avail tia funk

no its the same thing it suckes all the overspray out and keeps dust down on spray mode then switch to stove and it cures paint dry in 40 minutes
-
i paint cars without a booth and never have any probs with any of my work if you see my c i think you will agree its a pukka job better than a lot of work turned out by so called vw bmw etc approved places and as far as 2 pack being out of date i think not all water based paint needs covering with 2 pack laquer
-
thats about it mate but always prepare more area than you paint makes it blend in with polish easier
-
if you cannot polish it off try thinners probaly easier to paint the whole bumper trying to hide touch ins with a aerosol can is a nightmare
-
then no need for laquer prepare the area arond the repair with 1200 wet and dry then apply several coats of black leave to dry apply more coats and to more area each time but do not paint outside the area youve prepared leave until fully dry then try and t cut
