    I tried drilling out one of the rivets last night, and it just slipped inside the rubber mount. I will persevere with trying to remove it, but even if I can’t get it out there is plenty of clearance to leave it in place and fit a new rivet. So I wouldn’t worry if the rubber mounts don’t come with the new regulator as you should be able to reuse the old ones.

    I’ve just looked at the part drawing and it looks like the new regulator is supplied with the rubber mounts.

    The regulator is riveted in place and the instructions for removal are in the Robert Bentley manual. The motor itself has 3 rubber mounts which screw onto the motor on one end, but are riveted to the door frame on the other end. I think it’s a case of drilling out the rivets and then installing new rivets, but I may be wrong. It’s worth double checking that this is correct just in case you have to order the rubber mounts separately.

    I believe the window regulator is still available new via Volkswagen Classic Parts. It should be possible to to order through Heritage Parts Centre or via LLLParts. Keyo just ordered some parts from LLL and rated the service compared to heritage. I’m considering buying a new one myself due to the time / hassle involved in replacement just to find that a second hand part has a weak motor and although it works off the car it stalls in use.

    It’s worth a try, but I’m not sure they look any cheaper. In the meantime I’ll start saving up to send my fog lamps and indicators back to Germany.

    It’s an Arlows alloy radiator that I bought off the forum. It looks good quality, but I have not got round to stripping down the front end of the car yet. I think a few people on here have fitted this radiator and may be able to provide feedback on how well it fits.

    I noticed Sprinter53 on here is selling reproduction lenses on eBay (item 163844797324) and offers a replacement service if you ship your original lenses to Germany. They are expensive though, and I’m not sure what you do if the reflectors are starting to go.

    Thanks guys. I’m swayed towards the alloy radiator. I have both the one slat, and three slat grilles, so hopefully I can get a combination that suits the frozen north 😂 Jon, I’ve sent you a PM.

    Hi Nelik, well spotted. I’m just about to go on holiday, so will wait to order until I get back. Looks like I have a few options though: 1) wait to come in stock with Heritage, 2) buy standard radiator from eBay, 3) buy aluminium radiator from eBay, 4) add name to potential group buy. Thanks for all the help 👍

    Hi Keyo, thanks for that. I’m assuming yours is the GPI racing radiator? I don’t mind fabricating new lower brackets as long as hoses and cowl etc can remain stock, so photos would be helpful. I’m in no rush, so happy to weigh up the various options. Lovely motor by the way. If I hadn’t just bought one then I would have been very interested. GLWS.

    I’d be happy to consider an aluminium radiator, but would like something that fits without modifying the car. The only radiators i’ve seen are for VR6 turbo conversion, and i’m not sure if they fit without modification. What are the pros and cons of the aluminium radiator over a re-core. Apologies if this has already been discussed to death on here.

    Hi Simeon, thanks for the reply. I never thought or had any experience of re-coring the original. The radiator is not leaking yet, but has a bit of a bulge at the bottom, and I was looking to replace over the winter when I have the front end off the car, so there will be no problem having to wait a few weeks. Can anyone recommend somewhere? I will need to courier radiator back and forth as I live in the far north of Scotland, so no where is local 🤦🏻*♂️

    Hi, I'm looking for an original VW repair panel to repair corrosion around the nearside window frame and scuttle. Off-side outer A-Pillar panel is still available from VW Heritage, but nearside is no longer available. Just checking if anyone has one available before trying to source from a breakers.

    Will soon be removing the rear axle for shot blasting, and replacement bushes. There are a few plastic brake pipe clips, and ABS cable carriers on there. Are these still available, or should these be added to the list? Sorry for going a bit off topic, but can anyone tell me where to get replacement spring steel brackets to support the rear flexible brake hoses?

    How about the plastic inserts on the wings. The ones that are used to protect the wings from the screws holding the wheel arch liner.
