Hmmm, I have t/a's on mine and no problems with the shelf supports/back speakers.
-
They did a piece in the sprinter some time ago on doing this to UK cars. I will see if I can dig it out. I think Kevhawire did this to his car (third brake light) but it is on the interior rear window, looks better this way imo.
-
Yeah, I was just thinking about those damn VAG dealers and their £56 crappy carpets and other over priced parts when I was mentioning the cost of running this beast. Its all worth it though, wouldn't swap this car, it is such a great overall package, low depreciation and its so rare! Hhhhm that engine as well....
-
Prepare your wallet for a good bashing though, these cars are getting pretty old now and cost a fortune to keep on the road esp. if you get a duff one! I went through my receipts lastnight and almost fell over when I totted up the amount I have spent in the last six months - that's just general replacements/servicing and a few essential mods like the lupo wipers and uprated headlight looms etc! So defo worth getting a very well cared for example like the ones being sold on this forum that have been owned by genuine enthusiasts.

 No idea, but that name cracks me up. Edit: that probably wasn't very useful. These guys are supposed to be pretty good: http://www.mjinteriors.co.uk/Index.htm

Nicedice, welcome to the forum. 8) there have been a few on autotrader recently, apparently most people prefer the darker colours on the C, so might be easier to sell on later on rather than a satin C (too late for me!) - there was however a beaut for sale on autotrader a couple of weeks ago with leathers. The silver C looks awesome at night when its lit up by streetlights though. me too, I couldn't wait to rip it off my car when I bought it, spoils the C's good looks imo.

Yep, seems that way, hence I have bought a low miler catalyst to put back on the car along with OE suspension that I am buying. Also just bought some spare Speedies that I can refurbish... making it easier to sell when one day in the distant future I can finally afford the storm I always wanted.

Maybe that's why they went straight on, has the G60 got shorter dust caps? Std VR6 is problematic due to the dust caps sticking out too far so you can't get the comp centre caps on- these can be hammered flat - some people have done this- or you can use a small spacer to move the wheel further out to clear the dust cap, then maybe you want longer bolts? All the info is in this thread: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ompetition It's just I looked into this very carefully about a month ago when I very narrowly missed out on the sale of some comps that had the correct tyres for the VR with them - was a steal at £350.
-
Then your mate also used a hammer :|
-
Also the tyres that come with the comps are normally 225's so you will have to change those as well for 205/40/17s otherwise they wont fit.
-
Think you can use the same bolts but with the comps you will need a 3-5mm spacer at the back as you cant get the wheel caps on - so you may want longer bolts to be on the safe side, though greegs didn't use longer bolts when he put his on. (do a search for competitions on here there is some useful info on fitting etc - and greeg's post). What's wrong with the porsche cups?

I can't take the hard ride anymore! Currently on Koni T/As and Eibachs... I will be going back to original suspension for a while and will put the koni's in the loft, may get some H&R springs to match them some day. But for now ride comfort is far more important than looks and handling.

 that's hilarious! Fashionable with drug dealers just in the period 96-97?
-
Or ask for a percentage of the profits!
-
Cheers, contacted autowatch uk, will see if they can send me some.
-
Thanks Kev, I will look into the courtesy light, I like the sound of that. Did you get stickers with yours i.e. to stick on the door window. There is nothing to say my car is alarmed, I wouldn't mind getting some autowatch ones just as a deterrent.
-
:(
-
Yep, I recognise the Autowatch Owl logo on my alarm certificate from their website. That's good news. Just been having a nose on the web and they are a South African firm and with security being big, big business there it seems like this is a good choice. Anybody remember the flame thrower device that a guy in SA came up with to prevent hijackings? He attached it to his BMW and when he pressed a button on his dash it sent out a 10 foot wall of flame out of the side of his car!!! Scary stuff - and he was trying to market it!
-
Brilliant! I think my system is an Autowatch - was fitted before I bought the car. Will check when I get back tonight. I thought it was a micky mouse make as I had never heard of it, so it's a relief to see good reviews on here. Mine doesn't switch on the interior light but does the full closure thing with sunroof and windows and is cat 1, will check which model it is. No problems with it, except when the neighbours cat had a thing with my car and kept setting it off - happily they have moved out now and taken the cat with them! :D

I love those wheels Jim look like they were designed for the car not too flashy, nice and subtle, and when I eventually get a set I think OE style but a little larger is the way to go. I saw this car advertised on the Club GTI - check out the wheels!!! http://www.clubgti.co.uk/forum/forum_po ... 59096&PN=2 Wonder where the heck he got those from - that would be my ultimate upgrade wheel - 16" 5 spoke speedies probably cost a fortune and probably dont make them anymore.

So Roddy, how many miles have you done with the iridiums? Would be very interesting to see how much longer they last in the VR compared to the plats (especially as they are they same price, which is interesting in its self - platinum as a metal is 6 times the price of iridium in the market, but it must be its hardness and difficulty to work that makes up the price of the spark plug for the iridiums). Agree with that one - it is the most corrosive resistant metal known to man. Can you guess what I do for a living (apart from trawling the CF all day)?
-
The plat plugs they supply for the VR6 must be the rubbish minimal platinum, high cost units then, copied below (or maybe the text below is a load of rubbish?): Using platinum almost eliminates electrode wear. Platinum is expensive, but it can double or even triple a spark plug's normal service life - from 30,000 to 45,000 miles for a standard plug up to 60,000 to 100,000 miles or more with platinum. Most aftermarket plug suppliers do not make specific mileage claims for their platinum plugs, but say to follow the OEM replacement intervals - which in most cases is 100,000 miles for platinum plugs. Though long-life platinum plugs cost more than standard spark plugs, the OEMs are using them for several reasons. One is that they reduce the risk of misfire, which is essential to meet OBD II requirements. Another is that they help prolong the life of the catalytic converter (also by reducing misfires). Third, they almost eliminate the need for periodic maintenance. On many engines today, replacing the spark plugs can be a difficult and time-consuming job - particularly the back bank of plugs on transverse-mounted V6 engines in front-wheel drive cars and minivans. One important point to keep in mind about platinum plugs is that they're not all the same. Some are more durable than others, and some provide better fouling resistance and ignition performance than others. It all depends on the design of the plug, the type of alloys used for both the center and side electrode(s), the configuration of the electrodes and the engine application.
-
Thanks for the info Kev. How long do Iridiums last then/how often would you have to change those? Surpised that Plats plugs last the same time as normal ones. I thought the whole point of having platinum in spark plug electrodes over steel alloys was that it was more resistant to chemical and electrical erosion so it would last longer?
-
Hhhm, I have to do the same. How much are we talking (£££s) and how many bushes in total? If you were doing it bit by bit then where would be the best place to start/which would give the most immediate advantages? Do the rears first? Sounds like quite a few bushes up front too, could that be broken down so do a couple at a time, or best just to burn cash and get them all done? You can tell I am no bush man.

retrodal, will do!
