use a piece of wood under the jack to stop any damage, use two extension bars linked together to get to the lower bolts, never tighten it up while you have the engine jacked up , lower it and then push the engine side to side and front to back to allow it to settle then tighten

its not just there for the scenic outlook, GIX :) - yes, its fully functioning and if anything, better, cos the mechanism if beefed up in these roofs on the sliders that normally snap on the corrado aye but it could have just tilted :roll: superb upgrade

chris ,i'm sure i only ever saw 1 rs1800 on the road, very rare i saw 1 rs200 when i was down in london on the road, a dangerous rally car but years ahead of anything when it came out i've still got a soft spot for the escort cosworth, rs1800, rs1600i, mk1 escort etc

agree with kev , the mk5 is a superb car , fast, quiet,comfortable, nice looking but it lacks driver involvement because of the technology , the brakes are superb but a little over servo'd i could spend 20k on something that has lost its initial depreciation and which would be far sexier than a golf

also when its jacked up with the wheel on grab the top and bottom of the wheel and check for play so it makes the noise if you knock it out of gear and coast ? does it make a noise on full lock when turning , cv?

the silverone onebay looks nice but i wouldnt touch it with -1 feedback and the -1 is for a car he was selling :-(
