a good way to check that the ABS is 'alive' is to press your foot on the brake pedal, then turn on the ignition.. the petrol pump will whirr, and as the ABS light goes out, should feel a slight bump on the pedal. difficult to say without actually seeing it mate, the problems seem small but the abs could be pricey to repair or it could just be the bulb ! thats the cheapest vr i've heard of though, did you check underneath and corrosion on the brake lines ? is there any mot on it ? did it misfire on the way down the revs ? mine will kind of barble on the way down almost like its the back pressure in the exhaust

afaik all the VR's had abs mate, nice colour and wheels did ya lift the oil filler and check for mayo? how did it drive ?

i'd love a storm but would have to be a third car :-( a daily driver a vr or g60 to fettle a storm to look at (a keeper) i like to try and improve/personalise aspects of a car eg the handling , performance , looks etc etc with a storm your hands are tied , people who dont know c's dont realise how little difference there is between a storm and a VR6 and when you tell them they are always disappointed a lot of hype but i'd still have one ,

could be a few things, have you added a head unit recently ? there's a blue wire with a white trace on it that's at the back of the stereo. This MUST NOT be connected or grounded else the spoiler will not work automatically. also try the search iirc theres a speed sensor and a control box aswell but the easiest to start with is to check the wire paul

possible engine mount or cv does it knock worse on full lock ? this is a typical symptom of a worn cv all of them replaced ? inner and outer on both sides ? does it get worse or better when you brake have you checked the tyres for eggs ?

yeah they do test the handbrake on the rollers mate , cos sometimes they have asked me to stayin the car and do it while they operate the switch (needless to say a little footbrake may accidently have been applied ;-) get it sorted and your clear for 12 months , plenty of time to consider selling it carefully rather than a heat of the moment decision i do most of my own work on the car but sometimes you have to concede to allowing the garage to do it , either because lack of special tools or the wifes too busy hoovering to help ya lift the engine out

i've got a profile two, i put it on the rear of the back seats , to get to the controls i just tilt the seat a little , nice amps
