thinking about buying another car for a daily driver as the rado is gettin a bit old now and i don't want to pile on loads more miles everyday. I'd rather save them for fun at the week ends!!! thinking bout a v6 4motion,but don't really know too much about them. anyone?? :roll:

Saw this at Dusfold aerodrome (where they film topgear) when my g/f was doing a 10k run there. Prob would swap the rado for it if he'd go for it!!! :lol:

vag.com showing sporadic lamda probe faults. how rough will this make it run??? will fuel economy go down due to this,i.e too rich. my pipes are very black out back suggesting its a bit rich

for some reason the misfire goes when the engine is cold but as soon as up to op[erating temp it spasrks again, and oddly the leads (itsonly been 1 or2, but the same ones) become loose on the plugs to the point where you can easily pull them off with one finger. Bear in mind that these are not new leads.

Is it just a simple unplug plug sort of job??? also is there a better tool than the crap plastic one to pull the leads off with (ahem)?? who makes the coil?? will the gsf one be same quality as vw?? and beru leads am i right??? thanks guys :notworthy:

yeah that has happened recently. how much is a new pack?? and labour as i will have to get it fitted (i mean is it a long or short job)?

Over the last coupleof daysmy vr has been developing a bad mis fire. on checkiong the engine bay the leads were only loosely on the pugs. can they work loose over time as i put them on myself and they have been ok for 6 months. finally tried to sort out prob with old leads i had kept to get me home, but still the misfire. on inspection, no spark at the plug?? call recovery, takes lead off the coil and no spark from the coil pack on that lead. whats the verdict and the cost guys??? :cry:

iwas just bout to have a lesson and didn't have time to check, but the bloke didn'tpoint it out!! shit. i'll ring the ins comp and tel them not to pay!

had a rant earlier and now they have finshed and i had a free lesson i checked the work. they have cracked the scuttle, but on the invoice the engineer put that down as a pre job fault. i know for a fact that it wasn't boken as i claened the car yesterday and i use auto glym rubber/vinyl care on that part to make it black and shiny. if it was broken i would know and have snagged my cloth. how can i best go about getting these cowboys to cough up?? :?

I THINK I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND HAS ONLY HAPPENED NOW WE ARE HAVING HOT WEATHER. ITS ONLY A FEW DRIPS. V STRANGE

in the history of my rado are the warranties and bills fo 4 repalacement water pumps. however not long after i had the car the coolant drasined out all the time. thermosta housing knackered (the loss of water had actually rounded off the plastic like a pebbel on a beach). seems they didn;t have a clue and just replaced the wrong part! also, dealers near me picked up some problems on my friends 25anv gti. rear tyres knackerd 200+ each. he asked if they only pick up the expensive jobs or problems on their checks as he had removed the bulbs from the rear clusters before the car was dropped off and the hadn't even mentioned it!! after spending a s*** load with them they said my rear brake hoses were shot, £248 please. mot the next day, which picked up worn lines last year but was only surface dirt, passed straight through. i think that they are just like the sales departments and on targets etc to make money. after all if all the cars they work on don't have to come back between services they would be empty.

how much is an egine rebuld roughly, 2k?? i've been havin this debate with my dad bout what to buy. he was spouting bout gettin a new r32 but the one at vw was 30k. am laeaning towards throwing cash at the rado and making it a minter. what sort of budget would u think for an engine rebuild with a flowed head, sports cat and cams?? would love to charge in the end but sensible head thiks make the engine bombproof b4 anything else.

my vr currently has 194 bhp but after a ride in a mtes 400+bhp tvr i want some more ponies myself. for about 500 quid what can i have done to get some more power. the engine revs really well and i think this is down to the bigger bore xzorst. just want some ideas of what to do next? :twisted:

JUST WANT A REBUILD AT SOME POINT RAISE THE COMPRESSION AND COS I AM REALLY PARANOID BOUT IT BLOWING UP! I TRY AND KEEP IT ALL HEALTHY WITH LOVELY SILVA SYNTA EVERY 4 K BUT I THINK I'VE LOST A BIT OF COMPRESSION. WITH THE ZORST AND FILTER IT GOES WELL BUT REALLY REVS OVER 4 K. THE BIGGER PIPES MIGHT HAVE LOST ME SOME LOW DOWN TORQUE.

yeah i have thought about no rice. when and where is it? do any peeps from sussex go? people keep trying to persuade me to buy a new car, my dad wants me to get a new r32 even though they are 30 k (well theone at the show room was). i think i'll stick with my rado though. sod it. lets plan a re spray, engine and sus rebuild and then maybe a charger and then splitties. in my dreams! who knows though??? what do u reckon, total cost?? 10k?

supercharger on hold i think. rad split, abs had to be fixed, new w/screen and gearox mount needed. :pale: how much is an engine rebuild?

erm. all seems to be ok. box a bit stiff when cold first thing in the morning but ok otherwise. how long does it take to change?? is it the big mount that u can see if you look down towards back of the engine. they said both rear box mounts are broken? are there 2? bear in mind they have just told me i need my bke fluid changed and it was changed by an independant last week!
