Corrado Spotting Was it you [Archive March 06]
Jimjam replied to biggrim's topic in General Car Chat
That was me, mate, off to play 5-a-side. Do you drive a red C (M reg, I think??)- I saw one go past that day? I see that dark blue one quite often - N plate valver - woman with dark hair drives it. Also saw a red C (didn't get the reg) coming out of Marchwood. I was in a queue of traffic - we both flashed. -
Nah, B only. It can actually increase breaking distance.

I think the direction control dial has two bowden cables attached to it. One does up to the screen (defroster), the other down to feet.

Pretty sure it's £28+VAT from the dealer. They are still available.

Do you want to tell him, or shall I?

I can't understand why anyone would want rid of it on a daily driver. Even the best driver (by which I mean professional) couldn't even hope to cadence break as effectively as ASB does the job. I'd be inclined to leave it in place. You never know - one day you might be pleased you did.

Surely nothing would beat a current shape Mondeo for the money?

Do you mean for an early or late dash?

Credit goes to http://www.honestjohn.co.uk.... What's Good Roadsters originally bought by movie stars, nouveaux riches and pools winners, had very long model life from 1971 to 1989. 14' 5" long by 5' 10" wide. Six-cylinder engines more economical and cheaper to repair than V8s. A lady in Weybridge used to drive her pet parrot around in one. It just sat there on a box in the passenger seat chattering away. Useful online forum http://www.mbclub.co.uk Usergroup http://www.mercedesclub.org.uk What's Bad I call these 'ribside' roadsters from the Fiat Panda-like ribbing along the sides. To some eyes, they are really ugly and look like oversized fairground dodgem cars. But other people like them and there is still some status attached to driving one around with the top down. Unlikely ever to be as 'classic' as previous model 230SL, 250SL, 280SL 'Pagoda Top' and light years behind the 50s to early 60s 300SL. What to Watch Out For Fell into the wrong hands in those middle years between being old cars and becoming 'classics'. Lots driven by rich women, some of whom bounce them off kerbs, so check for uneven tyre wear signifying suspension damage. Be very wary of 'customised' SLs with oversize alloys, vulgar body kits and white leather steering wheels. If it has aircon, make sure the aircon blows cold. Faulty ABS means a very expensive MOT failure. Make sure the power hood works properly and has no tears. Must have had 3,000-mile fully synthetic oil changes. Take the air filter top off and look for oil in the plenum chamber underneath. If you find any, walk away sharpish.

Change your brake fluid. It's most probably caused by moisture in the fluid. Water has a much lower boiling point then brake fluid. As a conseuqence, when you brake, the water boils, compresses, and the pedal goes soft. Re-applying the brake should restore full braking force, but it can certainly make for some hairy moments. :pale:

which when covered with leather also became the Sierra Cosworth steering wheel...............in fact the RS200 had a hybrid Fiesta XR2 dash too.......with some of its rocker switches too boot I thought it had a Mk1 Sierra dash - may be wrong, however. EDIT: I am wrong. Also bear in mind that many of the ones people are seeing today are likely to be replicas. Genuine ones are worth an absolute fortune.

Fastest (Soon to be in)Production Car in the World
Jimjam replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
But what technical advancements have they actually made? It's all been done before elsewhere. The whole development of this car has been a farce - how many times have they put back the launch?! You get the impression that Bugatti failed to realise just how much work would be involved when they announced in a my-dad's-harder-than-your-dad kind of way, that they could build a road car that was quicker than the McLaren F1 (an eleven year old car, no less). I think if they could have quietly dusted it under the carpet and hoped nobody noticed, they would have - like Blown says, it's just a face-saving exercise now. Having said all that - awesome performance, nonetheless. -
Anyone know if they do a screen with a built in sunstrip at the top á la Riley's, but green?

Fastest (Soon to be in)Production Car in the World

Personally I think it's a ridiculous car. It's guaranteed to be undriveable and will be hideously unreliable. And it will overheat. -
E38 has cost me dearly, and I didn't even make it there!!
Jimjam replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
That would be fruitless, since they would simply claim it happened in the impact. -
As stated it's caused by bacteria build up. You can buy a can of anti-bac stuff and do it yourself for next to nothing. You just set the aircon to recirculate, set the can of stuff going, shut the door and leave it to do it's thing.

Yes, the 14 day rule still applies. He can either ignore it completely or send it back with an appropriately worded letter. He's a lucky boy.

I'm sure I read in Top Gear magazine last year that the show uses many different drivers.

I thought that the shark fin aerials were GPS aerials for satnav..?

That's utter rubbish.
