Maybe check to make sure that he wasnt just reading from the screen stu If there are 2 for the manual is it to do with the electrical connectors. Dependent on where the wiring came from some things in the engine bay have different connectors. I found this out when changing thecrank sensor

Green Corrado VR6 I bought this green VR6 to save from being scraped. It came to me with a suspected gearbox problem which is now fixed. Been using as a daily since. I now have works vehicle coming after Christmas so this is surplus to requirements now and would rather see it used than sit in a shed. The first picture is how I bought it blind. It was re-sprayed last year by the previous owner. There is little signs of rust and looks mega shiny. The underside is very good apart from at one jacking point a small jack has been used in the past an dented (bit if wire brushing and new underseal) MOT July 2015 Eyebrow spoiler Jetex Stainless exhaust Coilovers Tinted headlights, fogs and indicators Cloth early interior Mocal oil cooler Comes with BBS rs in 16s and also some standard speedlines for the winter. It has 191k on the clock but pulls very well. There is no history with regard to rebuild but very quiet. Work done since I have owned the car is: ? New osf hub knuckle ? Fitted 280 steering wheel ? Fitted speedlines ? Uprated headlight loom The problems I have identified so far is: ? one speedline centre cap missing ? Rear spoiler not working (working on switch so think it?s the box) ? Wing mirrors not moving ? Slave cylinder faulty (have one to replace it with) ? Pulling a little to the left (so tracking need doing properly) ? Front spoiler cracked ? VR6 engine cover missing ? Heater only works on 4 ? Some interior need putting back on (but shall replace/supply any parts that I have) ? A little lazy starter after left for the weekend (will investigate further) I am planning on fixing these problems when I have some spare time. I know some of the problems sound daunting but after using it for a month this is all I have found so I would suggest a pretty good example. Price wise I am asking for ?2700ono List Date: 12/23/2014 Location: Bishop Auckland, United Kingdom For more info, click here to view the original listing: Green Corrado VR6 -------------------------------------- On Sale For: ?2,700.00 (Local Pickup Only) -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: Green Corrado VR6 Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!

to be fair if you want a little bit more poke go for a remap and some suttle mods if you go superchaged or even turbo the extra power and torque may be too much from what you are saying. I set out to do 300 bhp from a turbo setup as a first stab. I have that now but its being restrictive. Should have more with the work done but simple changes should see massive gain. As said may be just simple mods may be best for now then progress to charging it
