Hi all, Getting to the end of my G60 transplant but have come across an issue with the speedo. As an early 16v my C originally had the speedo cable but my G60 has the later electronic sensor, I've installed the G60 loom to match but what does this mean for the clocks? Understood there was no difference in the clocks themselves so had planned to keep the original 16v ones, does anyone have any idea if this is an issue? is there a later part number i haven't seen? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Mine was done by OCD, good service and knowledgeable; not run it yet so yet to verify the work done

Yeah, 3 pin as pics attached T1x and T1v are just wire connectors Sent using Tapatalk

Hi @1xshaunx1, I'm running the standard G60 wiring but don't have an FCM [emoji106] Sent using Tapatalk

There's no difference noted between models for the fan part number on early models (all are 1 959 455k), later models don't differentiate either but show part number 1 959 455ak - not sure what or how significant the difference is?FCM I assume we're talking as per the attached? G60 Wiring (attached) shows an after-run control unit which is relay 15 Sent using Tapatalk

[emoji106] I'll have a watch, I've got no FCM like a VR6 - at least I hope I'm not missing one lol Sent using Tapatalk

That's good, was keen to keep the OEM speeds on both fans; need to find room for the resistors also, battery is in the boot but it's getting super congested in the engine bay [emoji106] Anyone done a manual override? Sent using Tapatalk

Hi@oneohtwo, How is your setup performing? I am at the point of installing a similar slim setup and was going to follow your good work As an aside I'm looking for a manual override as mine is a G60, assume it would just be a relay bypassing the thermoswitch to terminal 3 'connector on loom'? Thanks Crasher 👍👍 Thanks also Dox, good idea 💡 👍

Hi All, Trying to find a part number and can't find it anywhere, any help appreciated - and kudos to whoever finds it 👍 Missing part is a bolt on the rear engine mount on a G60; there is similar on a VR6 but a different size; not sure if an 8v or 16v has the same One of the bolts is a double head with m8x45 on the bottom and m6 on the top (I think), it holds the connector lambda bracket - see attached, 7Zap onl shows the standard bolt without the top stud from what I can find

Thanks @ger040, yours is where I thought it should be - with mine set as is, the elec connector is hard against the block. I used the Bentley instructions where it says to align the oil pump pinion parallel with the crank, I kept it there and aligned the dizzy to suit - is this correct? Or do you start from parallel and adjust the pinion position to make sure the dizzy points to 1? Sent using Tapatalk

Yup there's always something lol. Plan is to send it to JMR for a proper setup, just want to get to idle as a starting point before it goes Sent using Tapatalk

Thanks@Cressa [emoji106] Soon be looking to turn over/start for the first time, not expecting miracles but has anyone any advice? Anything to look for specifically? Not done such an extensive resto before - nearly everything in the car has never run together, from the same source or original to the vehicle Thx Sent using Tapatalk
-
Thanks@Dox, @ger040 Yeah turns over by hand without any notable interference. Everything has been out and dismantled, head and block were removed/separated but not broken down as this had been done by the previous owner Sent using Tapatalk

Hi All, In the process of setting the timing on my G60 and wouldn't mind a 3rd (or more) pair of eyes to check my understanding of the sticky and Bentley. Unfortunately most of the image links in the sticky are broken so can't use those for reference Took a few goes but seems right from what I can tell, one thing I'm not sure on is the dizzy orientation? White mark on the flywheel is where the 'O' mark is for reference. Photos are after setting tension and 2/3 revolutions [emoji106] Sent using Tapatalk

Anyone provide any input on this? Photo above shows the location and attached the 7zap extract Seems one of the bolts should have a stud on the head for attachment of this bracket - doesn't look like it on the catalog though? Sent using Tapatalk

Hi all, after a rocker cover stud for an 8v - N10186301 Anyone got one spare? Sent using Tapatalk
