yea a friend of mine has a 1.4 8v, very good for the money. I would just put 16s on it and some light smoked tints, the body kits look a bit budget.

Oh it was on the a21 coming back towards the m25

You'r right, i think it was a mildly modded 1.8t, couldn't hear a s/s exhaust and the exterior wasn't done up. Some of these pump deuse diesels are really good and of course they are all about 10 years newer so benefit from latest technical advancements, I'm half tempted to put the new 2.0 tdi lump in there, since the Corrado is around 200kgs lighter, they won't stand a chance! :D As a general rule, I only move out the way if they back off or are in a really nice car, then I will show respect and move, sales men in underpowered 1.6 I will probably slow down just to a nnoy them! lol After really testing the c ars suspension and brakes I have come to the conclusion that they need to be upgraded, whilst I'm there i'll change the timing belt and make sure I'm not losing power from the cam sensor as suggested. Has anybody tried these cheap coilovers going on ebay? Obviously there not as good as h&r but was thinking they a re probably better than a standard suspension kit? Yea the car is black, I've seen 3 or 4 around Orpington, someone has a lovely ice blue one, is that you?

I would say a polo or, heavens forbid, a ford ka. I take it running costs are important otherwise you would have suggested a corrado!?
-
I would say aqua blue. the rarest colour I have ever seen on the road is probably the ice blue I think.

Just had to lose a bunch of chavs in a mk4 golf 8) , I only had enough space to get up to 120 and was going to pull over but to be fair to them, they were almost staying with me. If they backed off a bit I would of said hello and let them pass but thought I wouldn't give them the satisfaction. I think it must of been a gti, if it was a v64motion I thought they probably would of been able to pass me? I guess this is a problem with owning a corrado, all the boy racers wan to test what they got against a legend! :D

I was very disappointed to see the the Corrado VR6 only made eleventh place in a top used buy guide. :? Asi I just recently bought a Corrado VR6 after studying the opposition I think they have made a mistake here (maybe it is best us Corrado owners don't get all the lime light?) Eventually I whittled the cars I was looking for down to just 2, the other being a Nissan 200 Touring. Autocar put the Nissan in 2nd place. As I have driven both I think i can confidently say the Corrado, despite having a lesser spec and being an older car is still far better.

After closer inspection I think it may be the heat shield on the top of the exhaust manifold as suggested although I will have to ask a mechanic to be 100%. I changed the oil and filter yesterday with synta silver at the VW dealers- £24.50 for both, not bad!? :) I also used engine flush and engine oil treatment before and after and I may be kidding myself but the car does feel healthier now. I have been told that the synta silver is the best for the Corrado VR6 as the oil is thicker, does anyone use the gold synta oil? and is it any better?

I am planning on getting a short shifter kit for my VR6 and had seen one I am intersted in on dieselgeek.com, an unusual site name to find a Corrado VR6 shifter but judging from the testimonials, they are probably pretty good. It is, however a U.S company and I would much rather buy from somewhere in the U.K. Have any of you any recommendations? Also, there are the ram air style filters on ebay that also have a cover to keep the heat off, they are going for less than £100- worth a pop? cheers. Sam

Those lights are one of the best mods I have ever seen on a Corrado, I have had a look round on the Canadian forum and vortex but couldn't track any company's that sell the unit. I have, however seen these for the mk3 golf oin e-bay. Do you think they will fit the Corrado? :?

I just tooka policy withAdrian Flux, I'm 24, noclaims or convictions with 2 yrs no claims £883, I would recommend them...

Understandably there is often a lot of talk about how low the mileage on people's Corrado's but as this car is very well built I w as wondering what the highest mileage is people have on there Corrado's :? particularly VR6'S mine has 133k and still feels really new but t hen I have never owned another Corrado before so don't have much to compare to. Thanks Sam.

It seems to make a rattle regardless of what the revs are at and also does it whilst in neutral, it is a fairly quiet noise, you certainly can't hear it if you are listening to music. No the smoke just looks like normal smoke, not blue or black, yea it's a 93 VR6 . THANKS. :)
-
There is a metallic rattly noise that appears to be coming from the drivers side of the engine. It is only an intermittent noise but was hoping some of you may have experienced this before and know how to sort it? :? Also, the exhaust is a bit smokey, not majorly but just a little too much for my liking, I think it may be the valve seals but perhaps some of you people know better? Cheers, Sam.

The S2 is more powerful (210bhp I think) but obviously is holding it's value better. Maybe if you had a 944 Turbo the engine transplant would not be so necessary?

Thanks for the info guys. It looks as tho the rear discs are corroding so I will replace them shortly, I would of thought the front ones would go first?. I noticed that they don't have as much bite as I expected from a vag car having read reviews on the Cupra but they certainly are very progressive and I'm now getting a good feel for them :) Do you know what the best oil and fuel additives are as I am rarely getting more than 30mpg and have read that many of you have 33+. I guess maybe I am just pushing the accelerator a bit too much :-P Also I read that some of you are using only VW Oil filters, is this necessary or will a halfords one be ok? And what size and instrument do I need to take the sump plug off? Do any of you know when the next Corrado cruise is that is closest to Junction4 on M25? Thanks for the help.

I have just seen the new Audi A8 18" Alloys and I think they look damn cool, 8) they look like they have a chrome finish. I was wondering if anyone has fitted these yet or has a pic of t hem on a Corrado? They are on ebay and are £725 with tyres although the rubber looks pretty budget. Sam

Hello people, As of yesterday I am now an owner of a CVR6! 8) At the time I was giving some serious consideration to a late spec Nissan 200 Touring which is a very useful second hand buy, thanks to consideration! On face value, the Nissan has a lot going for it, 200bhp, rwd, full leather, air con,10 stack cd. But the truth is, the Corrado is a better place to be, looks much better and is an all round better performer. I have never owned a 6cylinder car but am definitley enjoying it! It's silky smooth and has a great engine note to it. I bought the car off a woman who had owned it for 4 years, it has done 133k miles which is average for this car but high in general terms. The fact is that this car still feels miles better then when I bought a mint 205 1.9 with 69k. I am planning some minor mods for now- powerflex bushes, cross drilled brakes and an induction kit. Have any of you tried these? What are the best ones to go for? and is it definitley worth it? Further down the line I am thinking about an engine conversion, has anyone done the R32? Would you have to compensate for the extra power and weight with a light weight bonnet, fronnt wings and an lsd? Alternativley there is the 225 1.8 20VT which although is not a V6 is still very appealing. I have read somewhere on the net there is a U.S MK2 Corrado plannedwith a flagship W8 model! Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks guys, look forward to chatting in the future.
