came back from the TG recording yesterday - it was good - the car came across really well on the clip but they didnt talk about it as much as I thought - the clip seemed to be about 1.5mins but the good thing was that they said "buy one now before everyone wants one" - or something! nice one :D I actually got stressed in the studio as people were sitting on the car and leaning all over it and no one made the effort to ask em not too! Anyway - am sure you will all be pleased that they recognise the C as a Classic! 8)

They are the reference ones and the tweeters operate from 2500hz through the crossover. They are better than the discuss ones and to be honest - getting the 146 and the 213's delivered for £130 aint bad considering that caraudiodirect do the discuss ones for £135 alone!
-
The MBQ's I went for up front are the RSD 213 - they have the 1" tweeter as oppose to a lot of the other MBQ's on offer. Will let you know if I am grinning after I complete the install tomorrow :)
-
yes it is on next week - am going to the recording on weds :D interestingly they filmed it on the same day as Jay Kay's Miura that was in tonight's show.
-
no not necessarily - they are damn hard to find to be honest - I have always heard that MBQ speakers were pretty darn good. Going to pop mine in tomorrow. Kenwood make some that probably fit better and are readily available at £50 - I just felt the as I was going for MBQ's up font - I may as well do the same at the rear! :)

£4.6k!!!??? You got a BARGAIN mate!!! Unbelievable - esp with aircon!!! Top stuff! :D

The A1606 is a SUPER alarm - very reliable - I hear that they dont often go wrong, which is good! The installer has a choice of putting the alarm on a separate channel which would make it do full closure only if button 3 is held down or 1 and 3 together (I cant remember) BUT they can wire it into the same channel as arming and so it will do full closure on arming. Take it to the dealer - am sure they can sort it :)
-
They probably didnt wire it into the channels correctly!
-
I used an open hacksaw and a file. very tidy job! Neither the components nor the 6x4's came with crimps tho and the MBQ crossovers are to big to slot into the dash so a small bit of wiring will be done at some point. CAN'T wait to hear em!! :D

I have just taken delivery of a brand new set of MB Quart DKD 146's (as recommended by Brian)- and a set of MBQ RSD 213's for the front. Got them for a frankly shocking £130 from Ebay, seller ID mailto:[email protected] He has the focals there too. Only thing is that he wont accept paypal - money orders only but they were delivered to my door 3 days after he sent em! All brand new and still have the MBQ seals. Highly recommended. Will have finished the install by the end of monday! Cant wait. :D So far I have the speakers in place (the 146's were hard to get in!! I just havent done the wiring yet!

I have the Ai606 and you can definitely close the roof with this alarm. They need to programme it in to one of the channel. There is an option with the 606 to be able to arm the alarm and not close the roof - supposed to be good if you want to alarm the car and vent it with the roof open on tilt on hot days. Anyway - I chose to have it close the alarm on arming - so get the programmer to do this - it is not problem. I was also told that this alarm was not able to lock the doors on ignition as there was an inhibitor - however after much persistence on my part, the installer found a way and now the doors lock 10 secs after I turn the ignition and unlock when I turn off. These alarms can do it all - just got to find the right programmer!

Just reading the old mag articles thatVmax, posted! I can't believe that VW never came up with the said 24valve version of the VR!

Now THAT is the business!! GORGEOUS - and yes Silver C's are a nightmare to find! :thumb right:

thanks guys! :D yep pics were from before door card removal! Oddly enough the guy I bought the forthcoming speakers from in the USA is a Corrado enthusiast - owned this highly modded G60!! Body not to my taste but look: http://indoaudio.org/Corradowebsite.html

yeah - wondered if anyone would notice - that! lol

my feelings exactly! It doesn't matter who he is - it is part of the cost of motoring that he has to accept - if the fault is his - tough cheese!
-

-
that is what I was always told :? I know it certainly was the case with the MK2 GTi 16v

CHRIS - call VW on 0800711811 and complain that you still haven't received these parts - I was told by them that they can actually get the items prioritised and sent over by courier from Germany if there has been a delay and this really is some delay. outrageous to take so long! :?
-
OH NO WAY!!!! :monkey: I take it you have his registration? I don't mean to be cruel to the old either but frankly he has to pay - if he was 25 you would not feel bad about making him pay! He must have insurance anyway. I would insist on getting it done through him - otherwise it is COMPLETELY unfair! Happened to me once when I had my Golf but he was an ageing friend of the family so I had to deal with it! :(
-
you have a pm Jim :) cheers!
-
They insisted on a totally unmodded VR6 - I mean even to the extent of no induction kits etc etc will get my mate to rehost some pics - there was a thread but he has taken the pics down  can't wait for the programme!! :D
