I did, went with just a step above using DE set-up. They are super heavy as well. But that's all I could fit under my Schmidt modern line. I have some BBS LM's coming at one point from Japan. Thinking of upgrading. Those 6 pots of yours, are they the Monster version? And do they have dust boots?
-
Totally agree with you mate but phoning from canada with 8 hours difference can be tricky even even trickier when English is your second language. I get by good writing, speaking especially on the phone not so much!
-
Oh man, this looks good! Are those rotors 312? With 6 pot calipers, you'll need 17" wheels?
-
Thanks for the precision! Good to know about the adapter and even better to know they have it all!
-
I did sent them an email last night, we'll see what they say! True, I'll need braided lines as well so if they can provide these as well it would be great. What do you mean by brackets; carriers or some kind of custom brackets are needed to install the calipers onto the carriers?
-
Thanks mate for jumping in the conversation! That's a good point about the dust shields. HiSpec B4 road do have them but looking at Compbrake website, there's no mention of it and in the pictures they look bare. So HiSpec may be a better choice. Did you went with the B4 mate or a 6 pots? Did you get rotors from them as well? I'm thinking of upgrading to a 312 rotor, all it's needed is TT or 337/GLI carriers pretty easy. When I deleted the ABS, I upgraded to a larger master cylinder so it should be perfect for a larger set-up. Cheers

Thank you! I was guessing it would be the B4 model and now I'm sure! 19 years ago so they've been around for a while then. Any of you heard or ever used Compbrake? https://www.compbrake.com/product/porsche-boxster-pro-race-10-front-calipers-4-pot-black-pair/?v=3e8d115eb4b3#

Thanks to you two for your feedbacks and DG for the picture. That makes me reconsider them! There's so many models on their website, which one did you guys went for? Cheers and thank you for contributing!
-
Thanks, that is a good recommendation / alternative. I did think about HiSpec but after reading mixed reviews I wasn't sure if I wanted to go this way anymore. Do you have them?
-
Oh absolutely mate, I'll wait to be 100% sure before committing. My understanding now is if I want to go with 312 rotors on the Corrado: -If black calipers are wanted, there's the Boxster 2.5 and 2.7 fronts or 996 Carrera 2 or 4 rears. -if red calipers are wanted, there's only the rears from a Boxster S that will work. I wish I had someone who's done this confirm my conclusion and also confirm the parts number of the Boxster S which I think are 996-351-421/422 but since they are not mentioned in the original post, I would like to know for certain.
-
Thanks Dox, the way you say it makes more sense to me. English is my second language, sometimes I don't get nuances... So as far as part number goes then, the ones beginning by 986 are not good and the ones needed are 996-352-421/422 Cheers!

I'm sure this lad is no longer here but maybe one if you understand better than I do? I fancy larger 312 disks with red 4 pots Porsche calipers for in the future. Most Porsche calipers are black but in this post apparently Boxsters S are red. But I'm confused reading this post. First, he says 986 Boxster S are the same as 996 but red. Okay! Second, he says buyers beware they don't fit. Only 20mm wide and we need 25mm wide for a 312 disk. Ummm? Third, further down he mentions what fits or not and Boxster S fits VAG without reversing, ok now I'm confused! Does any of you swapped for Boxster S calipers or can confirm yes or no go? I see parts number for Boxster and 996 but not Boxster S, someone knows this?

No VAT for me mate but I'll still pay duty fees and big shipping cost as I am in Canada!
-
Thanks for letting me know! I may contact them to see how much they would charge me for shipping, the price is definitely good! Cheers

Reading this, that makes a lot of sense yes!

Thanks for the link. Those links confirms my observations I guess about the MK3 ones. I think TT ones are the best choice or those that I found that are some kind of mystery. Searches brings results for a MK3 Cabrio in France for some reason. They are smaller than the American MK3 big mirror sun visors.
-
Well I looked and I looked, probably spent too much time on ETKA trying to figure it out. In that Era, I pretty much looked at all models and I can find: light beige, beige, sahara, grey, blue /grey and I can't find black ones! Mystery!
-
Thanks guys for the pictures and the link. I guess I better shop around! It's "funny" how in the US, they are advertised as VR6 2.8, I thought the pump would be different since those are not a 4 BAR like the ABV?
-
I've been looking quite a bit on this. They all came "including Passat" either in sahara, light beige or grey. The black ones are from MK3 golf and Cabrio. Like it's been said MK3.5 are as close as it gets but the height is longer so they don't tuck in perfectly in the Corrado recessed roof area for them. The mirrors are bigger and the flap covering them makes them bulkier too. Audi TT's are quite nice, looking close to the Corrado ones but require drilling which is not a huge deal if you're planning on changing your headliner. Looking at GrahamU pictures, these seems to fit in the recessed roof area. Not as bulky with the sliding door mirrors compared to the MK3 ones. I guess because of the sunroof and the Corrado being a small car, it could explain why it is harder to find sun visors with the same dimensions. They are very small! I think the ones I found in my previous post is from a MK3.5 Cabrio or Polo GTI. they seem to look pretty damn close, even has the tapered edge on one side like the Corrado ones compared to the rest that are just squared. https://www.stevensvwspares.com/ebay_listing/361806704111

That's great, thank you for confirming this I appreciate it!
-
Yes mate, pump and swirl pot. I thought it was almost impossible to buy just the pump. This is what I found the cheapest and will buy. Cheers!
-
Very interesting, I didn't know that fact! I agree with you, they were not custom made for the handful of Campaign... They've got to be from a different model, perhaps the model that got the famous OEM black sunroof switch? I'll try to find out!
-
Dye is a great idea, I do have a bottle which I'm about to do tests on the sunroof switch. Maybe I'll give it a try! After reading your post, I got interested in trying dye out for the visors and switch.
-
What did you guys used for the beading around the sunroof inside? I see on easypops and Graham's pictures it is black to match the newly recovered black liner and all I can find is beige or grey?
-
Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge, now I know for sure what I need and better be at this price! Cheers
