  1. Despite their bad rep with G60's I'm surprised more people aren't running their FMIC kit seeing as it come with all the bits and doesn't require any cutting: http://www.jabbasport.com/product_fulld ... oductid=35
  2. Absolutely, the SNS chip was great on my G60 and peanuts to buy in the grand scheme of things. Furthermore, a chip which claims a 30bhp increase on a G60 is vastly unrealistic without any other mods.
  3. Easy to guess but also very easy on the eye
  4. At least I can get into the CF and Pistonheads!
  5. Not with 10% profit share bonus coming up ;)
  6. Me too. If Darren could get G60's to do 50mpg I'd get another one tomorrow!
  7. Can't see it at work; banned by big bad RBS :(
  8. its cos their quite heavy, and front wheel drive so that dont help with traction. id love if my car was rear wheel drive   Morover, the G60's got stupidly low 1st and 2nd gears. The engine is too torquey for 1st and 2nd and when you even lightly tune the G60 wheelspin is a joke in the first two gears. On a 1/4 mile, for the reasons above you need to change into 4th right towards the end of the run if you're quick enough in the first 1/8 which then costs you more time. You end up crossing the line as your clutch is down changing into 4th! I also found the start line at the 'Pod really slippy. I thought all that rubber would make it grippy but the front slewed all over the place on a few of the runs.
  9. I did a 15.7 at the 'Pod with a dead lambda probe and a slightly slipping clutch. You've gotta be absolutely brutal on the car if you're going for it, really slam the gears in.
  10. I think the point is that you need to be sympathetic with old engines. Running a slightly thicker oil will help to "compensate" for things like worn seals and piston rings. On an engine where heat can build up and cause ovalisation on high milers, I'd say being prudent with a thicker oil is wise if you don't want to have to prematurely rebuild.
  11. Gotta be Scmidt Modern Lines for me in 15 preferably. I'm surprised Schmidt aren't seen on more cars over here as they look gorgeous on VW's. Generally though I'm keen on BBS LM's as they go on pretty much anything and look awesome.
  12. I had a vibration thought the wheel when my diff support bearings were on the way out and the driveshaft wasn't properly supported. It destroyed two inner cv joints too! Are the spacers properly centered and not throwing it out of balance?
  13. Agree with aobve. JMR did most of my work and he's fantastic but I had a bit of work done at G-Werks too. Both can't be faulted. Both go above and beyond. JMR (John Mitchell Racing) sourced and fitted a gearbox for me and fitted it in two days as an example and he's always booked up for months at a time. Darren spent ages on my car setting it up when he fitted my cam too. Us southernerer are spoilt for G-Lader expertise! :)
  14. 8) It's going on a R5 GTT so there may be clearance issues with a 50 anyhow.
  15. Cheers herisites. Would that be a 195/50 as they're cheap at chips! (Loving the blackberry sig pic by the way)
  16. Cheers Darren, I'll pass that on. It's going to be driven properly as well as it's not a show car. What size would you recommend?
  17. Morning all A friend of mine is looking for a stretch friendly tyre fitter to fit some 175's onto his 8J rims. Can anyone recommend a place, preferably as near to Tunbridge Wells as poss. Cheers 8)
  18. Darren does them at G-Werks: http://www.g-werks.com/Products_Cylinde ... fault.aspx
  19. Either it's true or he's a fibber ;)
  20. There's a guy selling a Pitstop built G60 putting out that power. Can't remember where I saw it now but I think it was on ebay, perhaps e38 too? EDIT: Found it :) http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... opic=65751
  21. It's the torque that will increase massively. I'd imagine something like 220bhp & 270ft/lbs with a big valve head. You'll need to watch your clutch with that! ;)
  22. Awesome cars, I think they nearly won a ECOTY years back. I had a VTR which is obviously similar and it was a hoot to drive.
  23. Agreed, I'm always looking in the For Sale section. The G60 which woody sold a few months back was utterly gorgeous. I particularly resented my long commute when that came up!
