I'm having a Miltek system with de-cat put on this week (best of British engineering ;)) so I'll post up when I've driven it back from the workshop!

Exactly, he must be a billionnaire? It was on the Channel 4 news last night, he actually tried to copywrite the words "Grand Prix" (unsuccessfully thankfully)! There was a big meeting of the F1 gurus at Heathrow yesterday, imagine the car park!!
-
Looks like Bernie's strangehold of F1 has been removed! Maybe we might even see some racing and overtaking! Bring back turbos and no fuel stops! Also, without his influence we might be able to keep hold of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone (without "Grand Prix" being copywrited).

When I bought the car I got some Inca blue and some lacquer so I'll only need primer. Good stuff. Thanks for that, this mod should be good for at least 5 brake  Any primer recomendations?
-
Henny: You used VW Aqua Blue, I trust this is not a high temp paint. Does the laquer provide all the protection the paint needs? Thanks for all your help guys :)

I'm having a bit of work (understatement of the year) done on my G60 and I would like to tidy up the rocker cover. It's gone very flaky over the past 112,00 miles and could do with a strip down and repaint. A couple of questions: 1. Is it easy to remove? 2. Should I use something like Nitromors to strip the old paint off? 3. Any suggestions for paint eg high temp paint plus a laquer perhaps or even polish it? 4. I'm going to change the gasket at the same time as it's leaking, are there any things I should be aware of like tightening bolts in a particular order or using some kind of sealing stuff to ensure a leak free rocker cover? Any help or inspiring pics gratefully appreciated! :)

Another great Top Gear!

Hello chap. I'm a relatively new user of the forum and I've found it very friendly and helpful. So much so I even gave the webmaster a cheque for a tenner last week! ;)

Sounds ace, my car's down there at the moment for a week. Can't wait to get it back on the 13th. Top bloke! :D

Phone John at JMR on 07974020031. He does his own fabricated ones, they are £70 but I don't know how much to fit. I'm getting one (amongst other things) put on next wek. :D

My Proxes in 15 inch 195/50 were £32 a corner delivered, can't complain! :D

If you think that the Toyo's are bad in the wet perhaps you should have a look at how you brake and accelerate and modulate that rather than blaming the tyre? I've tried all sort of tyres and they fare very well. I just looked at that Tyretest web site and the Proxes come out very well? Besides, they are all personal testimonials on different cars so the testing is hardly fair and equitable?

Sniff..............Just got blitzed by a ........Clio

GTi6 306's have 167 brake and don't hang around! -
I've got Toyo Proxes and they're good. Cheap too!
-
Cheers for that, I might drop G-Man a pm! Are they "bolt in" or do they require laptops etc?
-
My car only does about 20mpg and it's in good condition (had it looked at by JMR who used gas analysers etc). Would this be attributable to the Jabba chip at all?
-
The previous owner of my car had it chipped and pulley'd at *cough* Jabbasport. Would this have been an SNS chip they used or something else?
-
I'm not keen on Kenwood, more show than go it seems. Their sound is always really "up front" and brash. Bit of a sweeping generalisation there but never mind  I'm on my 3rd Alpine and wouldn't use anything else, apart from Nakamichi (spelling?)

Isn't the Corrado's shift short enough as it is?

Looks like a bulldog licking p1ss off a thistle

I had a Concept 300 installed by GAP and it was nowt but trouble! More due to their fitting than anything else though
-
That's odd, wasn't a common problem on the forum. When it did happen I think the thing to do was to disconnect the battery for a night or so and then reconnect it. This was usually sufficient to reset the ECU and cure it. Either that of the 285 degree cam you had !

TheRuler: It sounds like your mate with the VTR might have modified it? I might be wrong but when you lower late VTR's at the front more than 40mm the track rod rubs on the PAS pipe causing it to (eventually) rub through and spill fluid everywhere. Also, when you lower them stupid amounts like 60mm it puts massive strain on the suspension components. When you go over a massive bump or pothole when you're lowered, the suspension blows through all of its travel and bottoms out violently which knackers the top mounts. This can in extreme circumstances cut the ignition because the car thinks it's crashed! Like any car, if you faff about with it too much it ruins it.
-
Yeah Rob B. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. On a slightly more mature note Rob B, I presume that the basis for your dislike is that you have either driven or owned a Saxo, thus addding a degree of weight and justification to your opinion. If none of the above is true keep your opinions to yourself. You're starting to sound like some of the 17 year olds on the Saxo forum who sport LED washer jets and Folia Tec exhaust shields!
-
Bitches the lot of you  Does the fact that this is my 100th thread add more weight to my arguement? (I didn't think so) (The fappin thing rattled like a box of crackers though and annoyed the hell out of me  )
