  1. Yes I'll get one of those tonight, there are odd numbers but they look a bit meaningless tbh. :)
  2. Ah ok, I was just about to check that! Hmmm the plot thickens :?
  3. Ah I see, good info there! I thought it seemed strangely familiar. Good call on the Merecedes wheel thing though, the small holes inbetween the main bolt holes seem to be a common feature on some Mercedes wheels I've looked at. I never thought it would be so hard to I.D. a wheel.
  4. Here are some more pics, the second has a logo, I think this is probably the clue, I recognise it but can't place it, anyone?
  5. Will get a bigger picture up later today hopefully, the centre cap says VW but doesn't look original.
  6. One! Original speedlines....perfect! :D

    Running like cr*p!

It is that time of year again, damp weather can start to show up ignition faults, 9/10 problems of this kind are ignition related. I'd get under the bonnet in the dark with the engine running and spray some fine misted water, look for arcing around the ht leads and coilpack.

    MAF 4 pin wiring

Cheers, I am assuming, because my colours appear slightly different that brown/white might be brown/yellow, black/blue might be brown/blue, red/blue ok, red ok. Thanks again Lisa :)

    MAF 4 pin wiring

Cheers Toad I did spot that one but it's for a Golf and they are the wrong colours! Thanks Kev don't suppose you know which pin numbers they should go to? Anyone else got a 4 pin MAF who wouldn't mind having a peek at their set up? Lisa :)

    Extra Badges on Car

Right, I have tried the hairdryer and credit card approach on both badges. One came off and I have tried cleaning the residue off (which looks like plastic) with no luck (I used an alcohol based solution)!! The other badge didn't budge :mad2: Any more ideas? Lisa

    MAF 4 pin wiring

Hello, Can anyone help on how to wire up my new MAF? The wires are: blue/red brown/yellow brown/blue red Cheers Lisa :)
  15. Well, I've taken one off and there's no markings that help me out with the manufacturer. They do say made in England and the size, any more ideas?

    Extra Badges on Car

Cheers for all the advice.....I'll remember not to leave the WD40 on!! Think I'll try the hairdryer method....watch this space :)
  17. I've recently acquired a 3rd VR6 to the fold, on removing the ridiculous induction kit (one of those ones with the spinning blades) I noticed that the car had no MAF. Well the thing is the car idles ok...ish, drives ok...ish and apart from the economy being lower than I'd expect has no real ill effects. I drove it 200+ miles back after buying it. The wierd thing is the plug had been cut off and the wires taped back to the loom. Does anyone have any ideas why someone would do this, or is it just pure incompetence? I have a new MAF and plug ready to go on now but was just wondering if it might have been done for a reason. Its quite bizarre really! I wouldn't have expected it to even run or at least idle properly tbh. Any thoughts?
  18. Hello, Just wondered if anyone knows the best way to remove badges without damaging the paint work? I'm not sure how they have been stuck on......hope they haven't been super glued!! One is a "supercharged" badge and the other is a "wolfsburg edition" badge (completely irrelevant info I know, I just don't want them on my VR!!) Cheers Lisa (using Andy's id  )
  19. Short of getting a 2nd hand one I think you might be stuck, I recently paid 50 something for one from gsf (the tensioner and pulley).
  20. Bumpage, they might be for sale soon :)
  21. I think I used 12 screws per pod, it was really solid, there shouldn't be any gaps mind, it is a bit of a fiddle. :D
  22. They fit perfect, the only thing they foul on is the person getting in or out!
  23. Yes that'll do it, I've got one of those. Ideal for running a pair of speakers/components.
  24. It wasn't the best :( I really didn't enjoy the electric car thing they built, just painful to watch. Liked the R8 vs Corvette bit though, wouldn't give that flimsy plastic vette thing house room tbh, although it did sound good.
