any more on this guys looking for some late lights now
-
ive been driving around trying to figure where the prob is thing is if it were a worn cv i would think it would pull gradually to the right but this is very sudden lurch to the right then lurches back to the middle as soon as you let off the power.
-
doh im stupid course it would cheers for helping me figure that out!
-
yes so if the right hand cv was worn surely it would make that drive shaft harder to turn then the car would pull to the left? the left being easier to turn?
-
thought so they wite such cheesy comments every incarnation of the golf and lowering taken care of by koni give me a break!!!!! its a vr rado it beats all the cars on pages 108 and 109 hands down!!! but it is one tidy coupe' !!!
-
happened on my golf for the same reason the guys say no threadlock compound left on the threads get a new vag nut and be safe in the knowledge it wont happen again!
-
i set mine up from hot as im from a racing background (how pretentious does that sound!!) go for a spirited drive ending up at a garage with an air supply with a good air gauge or take your own and measure from there i stick to 34 front 32 rear when hot seems perfect to me but tyre pressure is a vital part of car set up and its free to fiddle around with spend some time and try different pressures. i was readind a review of the new db9 le man car they had to throw away a days testing as there was too much moisture in the air that they had pumped the tyres up with! an extreme comparison i know but still makes ya think!
-
will they fit? will they fit with spacers? tell me tell me!!! i need those italian stoppers!!
-
elephant did me a good quote £300 less than my current tescos with all mods declared just hope they charge the same come renewal time!
-
why would the car pull to the right if the left had less resistance surely it would pull to the left if the rhs cv's were worn or is the beer already affecting my train of thought?! how many other forum members think about their cars when they've had a couple and cant work out what the fork is going on!

cool are you going for a passenger side one as well kev? -
my g60 pulls very slightly to the right under power ive changed the strut top mounts the all of the wishbone and rear beam bushes and ball joints. im thinking either the front engine mount or the steering rack mounts as sometimes i get a clonk from the front end when steering at low speeds oh and ive had a full laser alignment carried out car handles like a dream apart from this! any ideas? could it also be a steering rod end?
-
id go for 16s but i like the tweaked oem look hence the rx's i found a huge difference in ride in comparison to the 17's but i did renew the suspension at the same time as the wheels so that probably had more to do with it
-
momo runner obsolete but gorgeous.
-
is that gixxersuk rado in readers ride though???
-
sounds like the usual blue temp sender the oil light comes on when revs drop right down and the pump isnt running fast enough. swap the plugs around from the blua and black senders on the front of the head water outlet it should run better or your black one might be gone too! they are v cheap from vag as well!!

looking at an early mk1 smal light model it has a glass roof owner says its factory this cant be right they never put moon roofs from the factory did they ?
-
how strange mine is moving away from the door then? ill investigate in the am!
-
is that the only one?
-
my passenger handle comes away from the door when you pull it just under the lock barrel it still works fine though is there a screw inside the door that holds the handle down?
-
id be tempted or throttle bodies
-
no theres a new one ive seen it in some magazines. i love mk1's i sold my first one and regretted it ever since but now i can have one as a second car with a c as a daily driver i can lavish it with attention and the mrs has offered to get it resprayed as a bday present so plan is to strip and repair over summer as ive no garage just a car port get it sprayed then rebuild next winter. to be honest mate it was seeing yours when you joined the forum that spurred me onto this! yours just screams thrash me i handle like a go-kart! are you running coilovers?
-
Woo Hoo just got the go ahead for project mk1 from she that must be obeyed rado will be the daily driver although still only about 3000 a year so if any one knows of a solid mk1 going for a song let me know no moon roofs though!! toying with the idea of putting a g40 engine in although ive never had a drive in a polo with a g40 i just like the idea of a little screamer! a small rear light model is my ultimate find and theres a pretty on on ebay apart from the rank beesting im sure a few have seen it! does anyone know the url for the new mk1 site about restoration cant seem to find it!
