nah the R32 injectors are a much higher spec than the standard VR items. Even so I dont know if they will be man enough for the job or a charged r32. you will regret it if you sell you kit mate, it will be lke driving half a car now you have experienced it! -

thats a nice bit of bracketry. I have emailed SD to get a price for the spacer gasket and the mounting bracket. what else would I need? chargecooler Pipework chip (or the dread stand alone engine management!) cant think of anything else -

Well.................................................. i have just accidentally bought this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1 I put a daft bid in ages ago and never thought anything else of it until I got the email from ebay this morning saying I had won it!!! I was slightly gutted actually, as I had just been going to Jimmi last night about the merits of the simplicity of NA engines lol So the ever changing final spec of my corrado changes yet again! its not going on for a long while yet, but I may be pulling the schrick cams out of the engine and running it as a standard R32 to cover the charger cost. will have to start picking up parts and stuff to fit it now too!! is yours running yet? -
public transport might work in city areas, but its got no chance rural areas, I have to walk over a mile just to get to the bus stop, then we are lucky if we get one bus an hour, so, when I say "i am just popping to the shop for some milk" do I take the car and be back in 10 minutes, or take the bus and come back in 3 hours (if I am lucky) Its never going to work. something else that tickled me the other day, someone claiming people exercising is a big polluter, all that CO2 from exhaled breaths - now couch potatoes have an excuse - 'I am doing my bit for the environment!

Golf 5 GTI TFSI engine into a rado, need a little tech help
CoxyLaad replied to JIMMI's topic in Engine Bay
yo. good choice, my cousin has an A4 TFSI and its a lovely engine, lots of character. so 1. not sure, possibly not with a bit of fabrication work. I dont really know to be honest. 2. VR box no good. you need a 4 cylinder box, like a G60 or something. 3. dunno, I couldnt say I havent tried it. 4. I have a set of mega DSG brakes in the garage I could have showed you the other day - they wont fit without modification, the discs are hewwage - 345mm or something stupid by 40mm thick. Plus the stud pattern is different on mk5s. hope this helps btw I have put a days holiday in on friday to strip this car! fancy giving me a hand lol -
its all a pile of bollocks. If they were really serious they would be reducing tax on motorbikes, as they are the ultimate for reducing congestion.

Change engine to a VR6 or keep G60!! + a few other questions
CoxyLaad replied to Scoobyboy1's topic in Engine Bay
cheapest way to good reliable power from a g60 is a 1.8T transplant IMO. All the engine mounts are the same and barring a bit of turbo pipwork it will bolt straight in..ish. Then you can have any 240 bhp from just a chip. Or a chipped BAM code engine will give you 270bhp (S3 engine) -
Bingo!!! then dont do it!

Obviously everyone should drive for the given conditions, road surface, and vehicles limits, thats true, but what I am saying is that tyre was never designed to operate with a sidewall at a 45 degree angle, so I would imagine and I am only guessing that its not really going to like it. Steel belted radials an all. So the only point I can see for stretching tyres is a) you cant afford the right size tyres for the wheel, or b) you think they look good. b) is obviously subjective but you have to be pretty mad IMO to compromise the handling of a car that handles really well and is one of the main reasons we buy them, for the sake of style. oh there is a c) so they fit in the arches. In that case then your wheels are too wide.
-
haha maybe so  I must be getting old, stretched tyres occupy the same area in modding as fluffy dice to me - totally pointles and slightly dangerous ;)
-
its crazy - what purpose does it serve? its got to compromise a) the tyre strength and b) the levels of grip the tyre can provide. I just dont like mods that compromise the performance of the car. Probablies the wrong place for this, still a nice looking car though
