jumping on this thread, I have a set of Boxster S calipers, on a try before I buy basis, and they immediately dont fit my BBS rx's which is a bugger, but its more important for me to have the brakes. I have 323mm discs, with alloy bells audi TT fitment, so I would have thought they would be the same as seat leon discs. Has anyone actually got a set of these boxster S calipers to fit behind a wheel with a normal offset, cos these are mosshooove!
-
yeah I have the green and brown wire, most would have i would have thought, as most 4motions would have had climatronic. going to see whats in pin 12 on my white corrado connector - ta.
-
i thought all the K line wires just join together into the one? I am certain they do
-
the normal trick is to strip the clocks bck down to the circuit board and just stuff it up behind the dash somwhere.
-
hmm, i would have thought the rpm signal would go into one of the white engine connectors? if you could find out where it goes for definate and possibly send me the diagrams that would be great mate. you are a star :) edit: yes just found your thread on vortex. the orange 9 pin connector is the the rpm signal from the 24v. i know that bit, what I cant remember is, where it actually goes in the corrado fuseboard. If you could trace that for me that would be great

Do you have a diagnostics port? I have found a spare one if you need it, I can send it over for you. Actually you can help me out here, I cant remember which wire the rev counter wire is from the corrado clocks. If i remember correctly I had 2 wires spliced into the clocks loom, the speed and the rev counter, I cant remember which one the rev counter wire is. If you could let me know that would be great mate. I will tell you if I am getting fluctuations when I have wired it up. But I certainly wasnt getting flactulance with the 2.8 setup in the yellow car.
-
you will get there mate. btw yes I am using corrado clocks. have you got vagcom? if you are going into limp mode then you will definately need it to see what the problem is, otherwise you could be on for ages!

ah, what I said might be a pile of c0ck then

Apparently it all comes down to whether you originally had a dizzy vr or a coil pack one. the later coil pack stuff is fine, the earlier dizzy stuff, is not.....allegedly....;)

shuddup man! you are ruining my list of excuses!

mine is running (r32 chipped, cams, and 4wd) unfortunately i am still working on the brakes, and it has no interior, so I can only sit and rev it up in my garage at the moment. should be done for christmas. a few tuning companies claim a 300bhp package for the r32 consisting of cams, air filters, sports exhausts complete with high flow cats, all topped off with a remap. my engine is basically that spec but has the edition of not running cats at all so it should fly! not heard a single thing about the mkv r32 internals being stronger than the mk4 lumps. sounds like hoss sh1t to me to be honest. they dont break, so why spend money uprating them? stay tuned - should be done around christmas.....ish

wots with the gaffa tape? :)
-
yes mate, well they can be. there are obviously other sources i have mk2 golf drivshafts and outer cvs mated to 4motion inner cvs on the inside, and vr6 syncro rear wishbones on the outside.

Well done rob, pleased you are happy with it mate.

you are indeed 'Dash Man' looks pretty impressive dude! I like the filling methods used. Did you consider use that acetate goop plastic method? I suppose glass is going to be a lot stronger. your shifter has convinced me to hang onto this DSG gearbox for a bit longer...got mine fired up again btw :) -
I have VR6 280mm vented disks on the back of my car. Thats no help to anyone on this thread but I thought I would mention it

well I was, but when I started this project 2 years (plus another 2 years) ago lol it was going to be a daily driver. I too have a company car now, and a motorbike, and the missus has a nice MX-5, so I am totally spoilt for choice. I am leaning towards the 2 seats, rollcage and carpeted interior, although that would mean I have 2 2 seater sports cars, and a 2 seater motorbike. Is that daft? -

what are you going to be using the car for then ben? I am in a dilemma as to what the purpose of mine is...I dont know whether to stick with the full interior, or rip the rear seats out and fit a roll cage. -

now then beno, what controller are you using then mate? how are you finding the haldex setup? pics? -
Does anyone else think that 100 quid for a metal tube is a bit excessive?
-
yeah, brakes and bracket for the haldex diff aside they are all off the shelf parts at the back. I have run some braided lines along the back of the swinging arms because in their normal position they could in theory be jammed between the top of the swingarm and the bottom of the chassis leg
