  1. Hello. Long time no speak. Infact so long I hardlies recognise any of the people on here any more!!! For those of you who actually remember me, expect to the see the car on the road by christmas. Certain changes in my life have meant I just havent had the time to work on the thing, and its been sat for over a year. My mate has recently setup his own garage business doing conversions and stuff, and he rocks as what he does, so i have gave it to him to finish off. i cant wait :) It will be going on the road with the NA r32 with the cams and remap, but theres a sneaky little supercharger on my garage shelf waiting to be bolted on for that extra bit oomph. pictures to follow.
  2. is that r32 manifold designed specifically for the corrado, or does it fit the 4wd system on the mk4 aswell?
  3. My mate is considering buying a lathe/miling for his garage, with the idea of setting up a sideline in fabricating things like wheel spacers, brackets (supercharger brackets anyone?) hes a tool maker by trade so this would be a doddle for him, but I am tryin to gauge how much interest it will generate. Hes just modified my subura impreza P1 alloys to VW fitment, so i can vouch for the quality of his work. What do you reckon?
  4. brakes...yes, I have some porsche Boxster S monoblock brembos with massoove 330m 911 discs and alloy bells.
  5. Should be even better with a bit polish, its covered in dust there. Heres a mockup of the wheels on the car. wheelmockup.JPG[/attachment:2xwr9s44]
  6. sorted. Shows you how long its been since I actually posted anything!!
  7. ok then I better show some progress on here as people will think I have died lol Progress has been slow.... I train 5 days a week for rugby, and play on a saturday, so sunday is my only chance I get to work on it really, and if I go out on the saturday night, I can pretty much write sunday off. I have been managing a bit though: climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfdash.jpg[/attachment:2b91b71q] I have a set of R32 clocks matching the engine that I am getting repaired so it will be full R32 spec. Not convinced with the Steering wheel though....I may have to source a good chunky standard wheel (hopfully with the flappy paddles on it) 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfcar1.jpg[/attachment:2b91b71q] I sold those wheels on, they dont suit the look of the car and not to my taste. Pic of new wheels further down... The other thing thats slowing the project is my unwillingness to get into debt because of it. I have just cleared my student loans off last month, and its the first time mortgage aside that I am debt free since college, so have just been happy to take my time and buy stuff when can afford it. My latest purchases: I have a set of fiesta turbo seats, and I was going to get them re leathered but I decided against it as my mate had these for sale in the right colour. They are currently away getting restored. They look fantastic in the car, they give the interior a proper 'supercar' look to it. Only downside is because of their shape they wont take harnesses should I want to fit some for track use. I wont lose sleep over that though. So I have a mint (as new) set of Fiesta turbo recaros for sale if anyones interested :D ) These are OZ racing wheels commissioned by prodrive for their Impreza P1, they are super light and really tough. They need a bit refurbing but they are generally very good :) Its the second set I have owned. I really regretted selling the first set so I had to buy some more. I am currently on a wiring mission. I will post more shortly.
  8. you not fancy using that as a template and knocking a few copies of the chassis out lol
  9. bear in mind haldex is not compatible with 02A...
  10. that missing plug is for the the vacuum switch on the mk4 exhaust flap. the one next to it is for the variable inlet manifold
  11. Fraid not mate. fitting the syncro system from a rallye or other mk2 derivative is relatively straight forward, but the haldex back axle is too wide for the corrado. The best route, and i speak from experience as i have done it, is to go with a syncro haldex hybrid. ie a syncro back axle with the haldex diff grafted in in place of the syncro item.
  12. escort man - are you sure you arent gay?
  13. give over man for god sake. Jimmi doesnt need to rip anyone off. i speak to him everynow and then, and i know hes not been on here for ages, so if anyone has any problems then give him a ring. Hes not hiding anywhere...
  14. dutch - i have had no time on my car at all mate, i may need you to come over and finish it off for me! from what i recall, one of those vacuum pipes is for the auxilliary air valve thing, which you have ditched, so you dont need that. the pipe should run from the weird thing on the throttle body down the black vacuum box in the front of the car. the other i am not sure about yet - hold on (runs into garage)...........and back! right. one goes from a little cylinder just under the TB, thats the auxilliary air valve - disconnect that and block both ends off, its not needed. the other one plugs into the back of the manifold and goes down to the black vacuum box at the front of the engine, actually providing it with vacuum. now, if you havent had that plugged in then your variable inlet manifold would not have been working at all, as its powered of that black box at the front. yeah? thanks anyway - just looked at my car for the first time in a fortnight!
  15. an aftermarket dsg controller will be something special - look into it!!
  16. my mate used the exact ecu on a non dsg car and it certainly threw a few error codes up. Didnt run too well unfortunately, but it may be recodable.
  17. very true paul, and I drive a standard VR corrado regularly. I agree its great fun, but when you start modifying engine performance, it strictly obeys the laws of diminishing returns it terms of the power you can actually put to the road. 4wd leaps ahead of 2wd in all but the most perfect conditions.
  18. nothing would happen. it would remain disengaged. You may aswell just stick it in the boot.
  19. somwhere in the region of 6000 - 7000 miles mate ;) so basically brand new.
  20. yey!!!! glad you got it all sorted mate :) happy 24 valving, that engine is a peach.
  21. they fit behind the 17" wheel, its the back side of the spokes they are fowling. what dimensions are you after, I have the calipers, but no carriers as of yet.
