  1. i would go uprated. My r32 will be initially running a digifant pump :-s My mates 1.8T was pushing 250bhp on the standard digi pump with no problems. if it fails I will be investing in an uprated item.
  2. My postman used to own one, he caught sight of mine (when the garage door was up) and went off on one, saying how he really regrets selling his etc etc. How can a car have such an effect on a person?
  3. i am looking into getting the inside markings of the glass flattened off so I have clear lenses, then either go HID, or something else to get the brightness. Like the design of the rallye lights mind, a good starting point
  4. I crawled through a five hour traffic jam on the way home from the motorshow afew year back, thoroughly pissed off, even more so when I realised I was on the wrong fecking road in the first place and was heading for Wales! I was contemplating suicide.
  5. any idea what the effect on fuel economy has been?
  6. i only ask cos I knew of a red press corrado in newton aycliffe, I think the lads name was Tim Hoyland who owned it. It will be over 7 years since I seen him and he was talking about selling it then, so it may be the same one - I assume there arent too many of them about!
  7. you didnt buy it from darlington/aycliffe way? from a bloke called tim?
  8. aye that would be good we can pull yours to bits too!
  9. get yoursell up over christmas man, You can have a look at my project and pull it to bits
  10. no. is it not enough that I have told you I have one? lol You are never happy man, always whinging  photos tonight ;) Its a big bastard!!!! 104kg!!! I may still sell it on yet if it proves to be too big for the car.
  11. as long as you can see through it who gives a sh't?
  12. if you are using the r32 clocks then yes, you will have all the r32 functionality. I would be interested to see how you get it to stop bleating at you constantly though (unless you fitting absolutely everything)
  13. Yes....with that in mind and due to the fact that I can actually see the end of the project looming, I have gone and bought a DSG box just to stretch it out a bit  I think DSG will be phase 2, but its just nice to have it in my garage :D Signature updated appropriately.
  14. I am not doubting the power figures, mine was a 1.8T running around 220bhp on DTA management. I hvae just never seen a car accelerate like that from 100mph, especially if the camera car is a vr in 4th flooring it too. I have had a vr too so I know theres not much in it. totally different driving styles to get the best out of them mind. thats motorbike fast, and my 1.8T got blitzed by a zzr 600
  15. getaway! that was never 100mph in fourth. I had a mk2 1.8T with a very similar spec and it couldnt do that. To accelerate like that from 100mph you would need mega power. I'm calling BS
  16. I am fairly certain that if you utilise the remapped power of the engine then its fair to say you fuel ecomony figures will be horrific. p.s. the s3 is a mk4 golf floor plan, but the s3 has a wider track than a standard A3. Y'know, I think I'd have bought a TT!
  17. the rpm signal is different on the vr I am certain, thats why vr clocks dont work with 4 cylinder engines. unless its just the pulse its after and you set the point at which it activates?
  18. well in the interests of the scientific community I think it is your duty to do so, and report back!
  19. wow, that must be a tool. my mate has a standard S3 and yes it is fantastic, but I was a little dissapointed the way it behaved on the limit. I was expected a bit of rear wheel steer action, or at the least some 4 wheel drifting, but it understeered quite badly. I suppose they have to do that for the 90% of the population that cant drive. what do you think of the mtm haldex controller then?
  20. fair comment, just read it back and you did indeed state a situation where the clutch or brake pedal is not used. must be just shagged mate  p.s. really nice power figures dude, have you got cams in there?
  21. passive in what way? consider this then: what happens if vw programmed their ecu to smooth the transition between deceleration and acceleration. You not having a brake or clutch switch is robbing the ecu of the ability to know when you are changing gear, so when you shift up it thinks its in the going from deceleration to acceleration phase and doing some weird sh't to the map, when it should be doing the other weird sh't that it normally does when you are changing gear. yeah? Might be the case, or it might not. who knows... I have had a drink....
