I would be more than happy to see one with a huge disclaimer heading the 'how to'!!! I'm confident on my own abilities to create an uprated loom, with or without any help, but would rather draw on other's experiences, suggestions, and more to the point, actual required parts so I don't waste money on the wrong bits. I say go for it! I'd even give you a fiver for your trouble!!!!! I know, I know, I'm just tooooooo kind!!!

He said in an earlier post that he no longer owns a Corrado. Shall we just assume the deal's off now?
-
I agree, but mine's been able to supply the extra amp or so it needs for over 2 years now, if that was going to cause something to melt it would have happened by now. And remember, it wasn't every single time the spoiler activated, it was every now and then, when it needed that extra amp for whatever reason, that caused it to blow. The power is not being drawn through those wires for extended periods of time allowing things to heat up and melt, and if something happened that did keep the power draw, a 15A fuse would blow first.
-
Mine done this to me for years until I had enough of it and put in a 15A fuse instead. Never blown since, and no other problems have resulted. Sometimes you just have to admit that your car is old and the wiring, motors, everything, is just not as slick as it used to be... (I also an RAC man completely flummoxed and towed me home - and a VW mechanic of 20 years change the coil reader for the immobiliser before thinking of checking the fuse!!)

Would be really nice this time if those who are fitting Andy's looms to post up what they think about them, rather than just staying silent!!

The car that RoboCop drives is matt black. I thought it looked great when I first saw it! Go for it. 8)

I'm no expert, but my spidey senses tell me it's brown. 8)

Andy, I'm still (desperately!) waiting for your high quality loom and would gladly even drive to you to pick up and pay cash (or any prefered payment method). I PM'd you a few days back so you should now know my feelings on the situation. I bought a loom of ebay which I received a few days before I read your post about these looms and decided not to fit the ebay one. If you are genuinely out of the loom making business, then a list of the components you used and where you sourced them from would be very appreciated by the community. Take care, Chris.

All in, how much do you think your conversion cost? Also, what does the 24v sound like?!! I absolutely LOVE my VR6 with it's induction kit, regardless of how long I have owned it, the noise still puts a massive smile on my face... -

This 24v transplant... do PSI or Stealth offer the whole thing, as in sourcing an engine as well as fitting it? I'm guess that's got to be in the region of £3K? -
After racing, sorry, driving well within the limits, the other night against my mate's M3 (yeah, I like a fair fight!), he said every upshift was followed with a puff of smoke which he said was like following a diesel. Black or blue was answered with I don't know. I have a VR6 with 180K on the clock. It's not had a good life. It was a Blue Arrow lease car (a Storm!!!) for five years, then I bought it from Four Marks, took it back to them damanding my money back due to it's (very) poor state which became apparent in the first week (like 3 litres of oil a week...) which they said they'd fix. 5 weeks later I got a car which I then took to a VW garage and paid to have repaired, but the engine had had a lovely tapping ever since. But, it's always pulled nice and hard and only let me down with broken clutches, blown fuses and leaking water pumps in the 6 years I've had it, so I shouldn't complain. But now this and it worries me. Before I go mad with worry, should I start looking for a new engine, or are puffs of smoke when pushing the engine hard normal?! Can't see anything from the mirrors. I love my car and never want to lose it. :(

I have tried a set of Osrams which came out the same week they went in. They boasted to be brighter than originals but were naff. Have you fitted the 50% brighter ones, then?

GO KIMI, GO KIMI, GO KIMI!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! Really happy about the result, Kimi deserves a championship, he really does. Just comes to every race, puts in outstanding performances beyond what the car is capable of and never gets involved in slagging matches. What a man. Feel sorry for Lewis, it must be painful to be so close and lose it, but then, he should have thought about winning the championship and not the race, then he would have won it a couple of weeks ago and he wouldn't have gone off in turn 4 today. All this anti-Alonso talk I think comes from his cry baby antics outside of the car, but inside, he is still a brilliant driver to watch and one I think Lewis could have learned from - especially about what I've just mentioned. As for Anthony, I hope I'm in his boots one day. My three year old already shouts GO KIMI at the TV with me and is a damned good driver (bought a tear to my eyes to see him overtake 7 year olds on his first attempt in a seaside kids go kart). If I am ever there, I think I'll take note of how Anthony is conducting himself... GO KIMI!

And it's funny how Ferrari always manage to make sure they are deeply involved in them. And that's the reason I have never bought a Ferrari.

I read somewhere there were only 97,000 Corrado's sold worldwide (which is about the same amount of Focus' Ford sell in one country in just one year, apparently). Wih so few spread around, I find it amazing just how many different colours made it into their product line! I really like the purple/blue paint used on Rover's from a few years back and I'd love to see a Corrado wearing it. Since I don't have the money for a respray, plus I own a Storm and it would be sacrilege to paint over a Mystic Blue one, can someone please spend a few £K getting theirs done just so I can see a picture of it, please? I don't think it's too much to ask. 8)

Quite sad, I guess, but I LOVE Corrado even after 10 years of driving them. The thing is, one day (probably sooner than later!) my current car will die, it's already on 180K miles and uses oil like petrol! Anyone else finding themselves in the same predicament? Just what do you replace a car you love with? Whenever I drive a new car, I love the quietness and comfort of the ride, but any distance I have to drive ends up killing my back, whereas the Corrado is good to me. For a while I toyed with getting a TT, well, until I drove one (yawn!). Aside from getting an Elise for a toy, I have no idea what to do when my Corrado is no more - other than another one!!

Hamilton went out with my cousin a couple of years ago. That's probably my only claim to fame - how crap is that?! Anyway, she dumped him in preference for an ex who had screwed her over previsouly and latterly got her pregnant and left her. To think she could have stayed with Lewis... Anyway, best result for me would be for Hamilton and Alonso to take each other out on the first corner whilst Kimi romps away to his first championship, the way it should have been this year! Poor bloke deserves it more than anyone else after outdriving a naff McLaren for years.
-
I guess we're all hoping that, especially now it's dark all the time!!! :D Any updates, Andy? Is there anything any of us can do to help?
-
Sorry, thought you must have missed his post.
-
Yes, they did. I remember watching it - they pitted it against the Probe and the Calibre (just like everyone else did) and prefered it out of the three (just like everyone else did). The only bit I clearly remember was that they had a VR6 and Calrkson saying "this thing cruises at 140mph". Sorry for resurecting an old thread!
