  1. Awesome responses, thank you all! Realy don't want to wait until the weather's nice and hot to de-embarrass my car 8) My friend has a heat gun, maybe I can ensure moisture free rust removal by using that? One more question, after removing rust and re-painting the area (you can tell I am new to this) how do you go about blending the new paint into the existing surrounding paintwork? Is it a matter of lots of cutting back using fine grade wet paper? Does this apply to the laquer, too? Again, I am not expecting to perform miracles, just having a car coloured spot is better than a rust coloured spot!!
  2. The winter has been harsh to my car's body and after it's first wash in months and l o t s of rust spots have popped up :( I have nowhere near enough money to get it done by a bodyshop, so I'm forced with doing it myself. I am fully aware I won't get a great finish, but whatever I get must be better than the rust itself, so does anyone here have any top tips for rust removal/treatment and in-the-garden paint touch-ups? Biggest spot is about the size of a 50p coin and a couple of long strips of rust on the trailing side of both front wheel arches, but mainly they're small spots along the seals, but highly noticeable. It's Mystic Blue, if it makes a difference?
  3. awesome! 187K on mine, 114K of those I abused myself in 7 years. Just realised that's 16K average per year and I've been telling my insurance companies I only do 12K  Drove a 16V Corrado for the three years previous to that and put on 22K in it's last seven months with me. Poor little thing never complained.
  4. Wasn't a snipe, it was my opinion. And I totally agree with you, it is a debate, I just thought debates involve different opinions. Seems a shame I can't have mine? Either way, no offence intended and none taken.
  5. Can't see a problem with people liking the Renshaw Corrado, or any other car, and showing their appreciation for it?
  6. Can't say I like the colour or the wheels, either. And I loved the TT dash when it was black, but not when it became half cream, although I can't deny it brightened up the interior, I've never been a fan of cream in the car. But in total agreement with Walesy, horses for courses on the style, where style is individual taste, it's the concept of the upgrades being as the Corrado *could* be if it were built today and then managing to actually acheive that concept so brilliantly. The car is an inspiration - and wouldn't it be great if someone who counts in Volks Wagen got inspiration from this car...
  7. JEALOUS JEALOUS! JEALOUS I have plans and schemes for my Storm because of it. One day I hope I can point at your car saying that inspired me to do this, and then point back at mine. Look after it... 8)
  8. I wouldn't give a monkey's what people said. I've been flamed for daring to put a Magnex on my Storm before, but whoever does not own my car is entitled to their own opinion, and I have mine. If I had 'Renshaw's old car' and it's as good as I think it should be, I would be happy. :)
  9. Does anyone know what a free breathing 24v V6 sounds like in comparison to the VR6 with an induction filter? Really want a 24v and really don't want to lose that rauceous sound...
  10. Surely the Calibra one should have read: "Becasue you're a c**t"
  11. WANTED: One stop shop to complete the following upgrades... 3.6 24v V6 engine + 6 speed box, full loom wired in. 4Motion system with Haldex upgrade. New Audi TT style magnetic suspension system. Old Audi TT dashboard (with CORRADO instead of TT on the stereo cover), orange lighting changed to red & blue. Golf Mk5 guages. Fully climate control aircon. Audi A4 angel eye projector headlights. FK crystal fogs + indicators. New Audi TT style wing mirrors with side repeater. InPro smoked rear lights. Complete original colour Mystic Blue respray, but made to look incredibly shiney. Set of 17" wheels which look like original Solitude alloys. Re-upholstered Audi TT leather seats, with purple stitching and something to match for the rear. Whatever set of brakes are best with above setup. My mind is spending money I haven't made yet, but when I do (new job), it's either do the above, or at least some of it, or just try to keep it going in it's current state. Either that, or just buy the 111R I want for the same money I'd spend making a super Storm. Anyway, back the point - any ideas if somewhere like Stealth could do the whole job?
  12. How can a photo of that stunning interior make it look so bad?!!!!
  13. Aren't any of the numberous previous owners on this forum? Come on someone - tell us why you sold it!!
  14. But why not? Is there something just fundamentally wrong with the car which people only realise after they've bought it?!!!
  15. Who is the lucky owner of this car now? And how come it changes hands so often? I would love to be able to make my car halfway near approaching this one and don't think I would want to let it go after...
  16. They should've used the Knight Rider music for that bit. If they insist on Six Million Dollar Man then at least use the sound effects! :D
  17. http://www.influks.com/post1688.html Who wants it?!! :)
  18. Just replaced my numberplates after someone cracked mine with their exhaust pipe/tow bar(thank you Tesco car parks) and now my cracked fog & indicators look truly awful! I really like the Inpro crytal set, and while I'm at it, the smoked Inpro rear cluster: Anyone know where I can buy them from at a reasonable price?!! I've found the rears for a buy-it-now-price of £110 from an ebay shop, the the fronts I can't find for less that £170 delivered. Any suggestions greatly received. Many thanks, Chris with a shabby looking front end!
  19. I'd be in for the full grand if I had another nine people with me ready to make their presence known!!!! But I kind of get the feeling that even if there was an R32 to 'display' forcing them to sell it at the stated price would result in buying stolen goods!!!
  20. Until my friend pointed out that these are the scams where you meet at a non specific place, they beat the crap out of you and steal your car, taking the 'quick sale' cash from your pocket... http://tinyurl.com/2d6ajt I guess when something looks too good to be true, it is. Everyone here agree? Or have I just advertised the bargain of the century to the very target audience that would steal it away from me?!!!!! [edited link to remove personal information!]
  21. I'm not too interested in saving space or making things look neater under the bonnet, so externally mounted would be just fine.
  22. I think you'll find LOTS of interest from everyone on this thread and it'll be for the double circuit. My name at the top of the list, please!!!
