I was going to write something about the TT's bad drivers, but thought better of it incase there's a 'victim' reading these boards! Very true, but the amount of money spent researching and developing this for a car that costs £20K compared to a £200K car doesn't equate, so a boot spoiler suffices. Again, very true, but it still makes a difference nonetheless. lol! I have a friend with a Scooby RB5 which is quite a tasteful version of the Impreza, given their leary nature. At least it was until he stuck what can only be described as unfinished sheet of metal half a foot higher than the lovely colour coded boot spoiler it came with! Those pictures just posted up illustrate why the rear end of my car is constantly flecked with road crap!

Audi didn't think they needed to fit a boot spoiler to their TT until a bunch of drivers lost it in the corners. One small spoiler and a suspension change later and everything was fine. And for the Mk2 TT they've fitted an active spoiler a la Corrado. These active spoiler things are there for a couple of reasons - one, to give rear end stability, and two, aesthetics. Car designers don't seem to like to build in spoilers to their cars if they can help it, they seem to think they have 'lost' if they have to fit one. I watched a three hour 'making of' video about the Elise where the early designs had no rear spoiler at all the car handled terribly until the they were forced to conceed in giving the rear end of the bodywork that little lip (whcih looks great, but really naff without it in my opinion). Transformed the handling. What must these people who spend ages desigining their cars with little or no spoiler additions think when they see their creation being driven by a 17 year old who has welded an ironing board to the back of it?

All true, but how cool is it to have one there?!! 8)

I have the H&R's + Koni TA's and I love the look of the drop, but hate the ride comfort (I live in the sticks and have to negotiate bumpy roads all the time). Plus speedbumps are buggers to climb over without it sounding like something is breaking. I've been very tempted to put the OE suspension back on and I would have by now if it wasn't for the silly tractor-like ride height the VR's 'Plus' suspension leaves you with.

God I wish I had the time and money to join your ranks. :( My wish list for my Corrado is dashboard, 24v engine and Audi A4 lights - sound familier?! Although I think I prefer the TT dash, that one looks great in the Corrado, too. The things I always want to know about these project is just how long do they take you, how much do they cost and how much hassle have they been? As much as I really want to do some myself, I just don't think I have the talent, even if the time and money were there!! Anyone fancy a job?!!

OEM+ - what wheels to move from 15" to 16" on a VR

Maybe it's just me, but I've found 17's on a Corrado to look too big. Like when a 4 year old puts on his dad's boots for a laugh. Anyone have any comparison pics before and after when going up to 17"? -
There are other cars in it's class?!!

Really? :( Bang goes my theory, then. Sod it, I'll bung on 22"! -
VW printed some blurb about the amount of extra downforce the spoiler produces when raised waaaaaaay back when from wind tunnel measurements. Buggerered if I remember the figures now, though!

I am increasingly of the opinion that 16's are the way to go following a few hours of searching for decent tyres for my 15's this weekend. Seems that 205/50/15 are becoming rapidly forgotton by the manufacturers! Anyone else finding this? Pair of Exalto's on order this time, but I think I'll look to get hold of some 16" rims between now and the next set I need... -
I just like what I don't have...

Here endeth my quest!

So is the one in the link from my first post simply a US spec spare, despite the "can be retrofitted" statement?
-
I have rust issues as it is. The car, too.
-
The US spec Corrado has that 3rd high-level brake light where we have number plate lights. I once saw a how to on retro fitting one to the Euro spec Corrado which required a degree of metalwork cutting, but I've just seen this: http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/produc ... rrado.html Anyone tried it? The blurb says it can be retro-fitted to one that didn't have one as standard, but I wonder if it's still a cut and shape the positioning jobbie.

These guys http://www.autopaintfx.com/main.aspx from this post http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=58168 may have the stuff you need in a can? I've sprayed mine plenty of times (the rear one - the front's still okay) but never managed to get a good chrome-like result - let me know if you mangage to pull it off. Alternatively, I believe the rounded VW badge from the Passat fits and doesn't look half bad on the Corrado.

If I'm right, and I very rarely am, my H reg 16v used to pop up at 45mph, but my Storm does it at 65mph. As far as I know, both went down under 20mph. Would be cool to get it at half mast for an in between speed...

Andy's got a lot of people asking for his looms and as far as I can tell he's still ironing out little issues. Either way let's remember he's doing this in his spare time and I for one appreciate how precious time to yourself can be, so let's not expect him to produce en mass!!! 8)

I was only thinking last night as I was fumbling my way through some dark lanes I'd never driven before how much I am looking forward to you getting to a point where you can start selling them! I know I'm well down the list, but thanks for al the hard work so far.
-
:salute: Really looking forward to being able to see again! Thanks for everything you've done so far!

Any closer to perfection & release yet? I'm not impatient or anything, but I want one now!!!!

I think the proof is right there in the bold claims: Can make up to 35bhp, but might not... :cuckoo:
-
Erm? http://www.turbonator.com/index.html I guess they're similar to the ecotec valves, but placed in a different, erm, place. Would be pretty cool if you could get 35bhp from just $70. :(
