99% sure they are crap 9A cams Martin.. Which means your gonna be needing a set out of a 1.8 KR mill. Is it gonna be VEEDUBBED to the rescue? Whilst your in there, you could always turbo it..
-
VEEDUBBED'S the parts vulture mate.. Got manifolds, injectors, turbos, pistons, bottom ends.. Sorry for dragging off topic.
-
Or buy VEEDUBBED'S spare forged bottom end, turbo, head and manifold aswell.. Get a spare Weber loom off a rusty lancia delta or cosworth and fit it all onto the ABF..

Worrying (but tasty) mysterious noise on this mornings commute
VEEDUBBED replied to MZpog's topic in General Car Chat
VEEDUBBED silently hovers in the background.. Someone's gonna need bits.. -
Thanks pops!

As title, which one of you lot is gonna get me that edition? Can't find the bloody thing anywhere. No dam decent mags in Rome.. Let me know if you have it and I'll grab it.

I had the same problem years back when some **** broke into my corrado. They not only ripped off the door handle but broke the drivers glass too.. After a week of head scratching it turns out that a tiny nugget of glass was lodged in the door frame seal, impossible to see.. Does the glass close at an angle? Or is the gap at the very top level?
-
Jaybo, you ever need any bits, give me a shout mate as i'm in Rome, Italy..
-
It's Always Like that.. Try servicing one of the buggers or, god forbid, cambelt or clutch change!! Utterly crap interiors, bar the Recaro seats, engines do in cranks if run low on oil, balancer belts snap, as do the silly under engineered cambelts.. BUT, come across one in the street, even now after 20+ years and it's guaranteed you'll stop and admire.
-
Give me 'till tomorrow morning and I'll dig a set out for you. Send me your email and I'll be you son photos.
-
I've got a center silencer and back box off a 15.000km g60 that was scrapped 20+ years ago.. I'm a little far away though..
-
Who's been checking the prices of old Lancia delta evo's and Cosworths lately? A bare ferkin delta evo shell, cracks and all goes for 9000€! Engines 3000+€! Interiors 1500€! Come on ffs, even an old Weber/Marelli grey 3 Bar Map sensor £100+ for a component that's almost 25 years old.. I should have nicked more of them back In the '90's and cashed in..
-
Defiantly different both alternator and starter motor, the starter motor is longer and has a different nose that bolts onto the very different vr6 gearbox bell housing.. Alternator is a 120amp job is opposed to the 90amp 16v version and is physically different too, totally different mountings as well. If you want I could photo them all side by side.
-
I found a few but seeing as I'm in Rome, it may take a while to post.. Total no brainer mate, get one off jim.
-
Sorry cress, nothing mate, loads of the radiator fixing clip things but no rubber spacers..
-
I threw one or two of those buggers in a box a few days ago, let me dig them out and they are yours.
-
I'll see if i have any left over down the garage mate.
-
Could be loads of things mate. Fuel pressure that's low, blocked fuel filter, hall sender inside dist. playing up, timing belt skipped a tooth, worn plugs, choked up air filter, low compression 'cos of worn rings, knackered G-charger not putting out much boost, the list goes on.. Try the simple stuff first though, change the fuel filter and service the car,new engine oil, plugs etc.

Wiggled with fuse board, now no wipers, fan, sunroof?
VEEDUBBED replied to Thursdave's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Have you got 12v at the wiper motor? -
Wiggled with fuse board, now no wipers, fan, sunroof?
VEEDUBBED replied to Thursdave's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Bit difficult to explain if you've never seen it. It's a plastic lock bar that holds all the connectors in situ. Pull out the fuse box and look along the side, you'll find it in the middle. First see if any connectors have come adrift or if you can pull plugs out, if you can then the bar has definatly moved to its open position. -

Check that the locking bar is still In place on the fuse box, when working in that area and moving the fuse box around the connector blocks sometimes detach themselves off the fuse box. Total bastids to put back in, then there's the stupid plastic prongs to refit too.. Have a look. -
Allrite then, A quickie regarding the ZF steering racks fitted to Both Passat B2 vr6's and the equivalent Corrado version, are they different Or can they be interchanged between models? I can't see any differences but the part numbers don't match, neither the rack or the Uj shaft.. Enlighten me please.
