" the wise man built his house apon the rocks, house apon the rocks, house apon the rocks, "......
  2. Avec le search...... Jim ... "Around early to mid 1992 they basically gave the end of run G60's what is known as the 'later' front end - the rear bumper was slightly different, the bonnet got a bulge, the front bumper was different and the wings were wider. This was all for the later cars (the VR6, the 8v, and the 2.0 16v). " Info from Mr RW1 ..... He da man.... The Corrado front wings changed with the introduction of the 1991 models in August 1990 but the article I referred to earlier was: Volkswagen Audi Car – October 1991 edition, page 62. “CORRADO WINGS From July ’90, the flange of the wings and the shape of the wing-liners of Corrados were modified to give greater clearance.” The parts list reflects this if looked up on the fische and EKTA 6.02. ------------------------------------------- Also, Bulletin No. 3 dated February 1991 in the General Body Repairs Workshop Manual has the following, which confirms the press article: ALL MODELS. “To attain sufficient tyre clearance in the wheel housing, the mudwing flange has been modified from 07.90. In conjunction with this the wheel housing liner was also modified in the connecting area. After stocks of the old wheel housing liner are exhausted only the modified liners will be offered in the parts programme.” It goes on to state that old & new combinations can be done whilst the body work mudwing & liners need to be modified suitably. Mudwing is german translation for the metal front wings. It’s also worth noting that different wing liners are used on the later 16v (8v), G60, VR6 after the wings changed, presumably to take the different tyre widths from 195 to 205mm and different suspension damping rates. ---------------------------- In simple terms, any Corrado from chassis 50KK000001 to 50LK027000 (September 1988 – July 1990 build date) was made with the early front wings. As stated above once stocks of the early front wing spares ran out, only a newer wing could be bought new if accident damage occurred. Odd wings = been repaired. That couldn't have lasted more than 2 years or there abouts. Of course old style model new car stock may have been held by VAG at Milton Keynes built prior to August 1990 so some 1991 registration plate year C's would have early front wings which may answer your point Steve ie. (H registered platers but I doubt "J's onwards").
  3. I like it....from behind.....not sure about the front view.....but I like th rear.
  4. Dark Burgundy or Bordeaux Red I reckon....hard to tell...more than likely that its Dark Burgundy, I'm not sure they made any Bordeaux red g60's
  5.   It's got to...i've never heard of anyone driving a raddo and not liking it.....I love the things... :luvlove:

    Sideskirts

Just my opinion but Corrado's don't need bits stuck on them to make them look better, if anything taking a few sublte bits off is more apropriate.....that's really the reason I like them so much, they don't need to be messed with. Each to their own though...if you like them then put them on. O.T but I've not laughed out loud at many threads i've read on here...but the one below is one of my all time favourites...horses for courses..... :D http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=graphics

    Wheel Nuts

dunno...but the ones Ihave came off a 93 2.0 16v with standard estoril wheels.
  8. I'm sure i'ver seen it before ,are those pics new? It does look like a nice example but like the guys have said, unfortunately raddo's aren't fetching much at the moment, there's a vr6 is the for sale section with the same sorta mileage for less than £2k :(

    Wheel Nuts

Mate, that sounds like a total nightmare. I'm not entirely sure that I haven't thrown the set I had lying around on my garage floor, i'll have a look for you.
  10. LOL..makes me think of the A-Team reading the back :D Looks really pro though Jim...nice one.

    engine mods

Just try and make sure that the engine is strong in standard form before starting to mod it for more power. It might be worth replacing some hoses,fuel/brake lines etc and making sure you've given it a good service . Also worth looking at suspension if it's not been done on the car you bought . Modding a car that isn't in tip top condition can cause jip later down the road. If you've got money to burn get it running sweet as it can first. :D

    Water Temp

It depends on the engine, mods, ambient temp, driving conditions etc. The manual says that basically anywhere on the gauge is ok as long as the light doesn't flash...so technically it's fine...though I can apreciate that it would be nice to get it to stay at around 90deg. Maybe it's worth testing how well your fan is running?.. There must be a million and one threads about running temp :D
  17. Not a clue mate , I know fack all about Vr6's...never had one. :D As for the key...I wouldn't replace it ...if you've had the same one all the time and the problems only just started then it's unlikely to be that (( plus the fact that they are bloody expensive! ) Does your problem not sound more like it could be the reader coil?..i'm certainly no expert ...just pointing out that there's loads of threads on here with info if no-one is around to help. :D
  18. My mate replaced his awesome G60 with an m3 about 2 months ago and proceeded to plant it into a wall. I went for a ride in it before he killed it and I have to say, it was a beast......but I still dont like them....though I would agree they are a stunning piece of machinery.
  19. It starts getting amusing when the abuse goes from just the one guy to all of them for owning beemers.. : "Pretty much the whole car internet community is laughing at you BMW owners now... Good Job! mr2guysingh: Still a Nissan Your car's still a BMW... BMW: Big Money Waste.. BMW: Bumbling Mechanical Wretch BMW: Break My Windows Glad we cleared that up.... "
  20. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... eader+coil Theres a thread I just found on reader coils aswell. A guy that bought my first raddo off me rang me a few months after he bought it with the same problem , it took us ages to work out that the reason it only happened sometimes was that he had got a new key without the transponder in it and that was the problem. Your problem also seems intermitant to a degree so i'm wondering if you have two keys? ..just on the offchance  Type reader AND coil into the search , theres quite a few threads there...the AND refines the search Chin up. :D
  21. Have you had a new key made for the car mate? Did the search throw anything up on the airlock aswell?.
  22. Nah, that's springs mate  Sebrings are standard corrado wheels. They were on all early 16v's in the UK and early G60's in Europe So...what other car you got then? :D
  23. Stealth loving.... Just to keep it all in one thread
