Is it a bad idea to sell a car this close to Christmas?
Walesy replied to Jonny_L's topic in General Car Chat
 - That's a fair point! Jonny_L I'd deffinately say it would be worth waiting untill after christmas, I allways end up selling cars for alot less around this time of year. There are car dealers sat twiddling their thumbs all around the country at this time of year. It's by far the best time to buy though! As for the "stepspeed" auto box ..is that the belt driven one? as in it has no gears but works on belt tension -
Sweet, it made just under 200bhp on a very hot day when I had it, Mods were : Jabba Ported head/throttle body 68mm Pulley and SNS Chip Standard Rebuilt G-Werks Charger G-Werks Exhaust Mocal Oil Cooler So the cam/FMIC and toothed belt kit seem to have added a good few extra BHP! My next G60 will be having a ported head without doubt.

Nice one! ( Moved )

Trigger you gaylord! stop poncing around with the leather and bring it over here so I can give the handling a proper test  ( Nice car mate, hope it's put a grin back on your face )

Another one, but it's still two years old!

Get in touch with Combellecks dude, that engine's gone but they seem to get them in quite often.
-
£300 delivered ( local ) IIRC, with 45K on the clock. They seem to sell for alot on the forums etc, but i've seen a few at local scrappies for really good prices You'd probebly get everything you need from a breaking VR6 for cheaper, but I just reckon it's not worth doing a conversion when you can pick up original VR6's cheap enough at the moment. If you're going to go to the expense and hassle of a new engine etc then I think you might aswell do something different using a newer engine and also one that's appealing when it comes to re-sale. ( there's a guy on here with a converted VR6 and he was trying to sell up for aaages with no luck, last I heard he was going to have to break it :( )

I'm not sure that there'd be that much difference in price, if you wait around you can get 1.8T engines really cheap. Also, when it comes to selling the car, a 1.8T Rado will sell for far more than a converted Vr6 Just my humble opinion :) ...unless of course you were to buy a VR6 engine pre-owned by the famous double-6's - in which case it would be worth a small fortune...

http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50165 ^^ That one looks like a prime candidate for a conversion to me :)
-
I don't see the point in putting a VR6 into a 16v rado, go for a 1.8T or 2.0 FSi etc ,it makes far more sense IMO

 - woops, that was meant to be this one : http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=6th+gear

I've often fancied another gear. Here's a couple of threads to look at matey: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=6th+gear http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=6th+gear

I doubt it tbh, if you do it will be a bargain!

Might be time to sell, never thought the day would come.....

Yeah, fair play to you mate, I know what you mean. I expect if that's the case though, you'll miss it sooner or later. -

You'll find that most newer cars will also have niggley little faults from time to time. It's not allways the case that getting something newer will mean that it costs you less time/money to run. -
Yeah, it's called 'Exterior Trim Tape' in Hellfrauds and it does the job fine.

You have a point there!

Just Provisionally bought a vr6 storm in mystic blue
Walesy replied to Jon_vr6's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah me neither, alot of owners remove them because they prefer the look of the car without so no real cause for concern. I was caught out once by a seller with no morals, and now i'm extra carefull about buying cars that are far away. Just something to be aware of :) -
I'm liking that...alot  EDIT - In fact , the more I look, the more I like it. I need another black rado.

Sweet, looks like a pretty good deal to me. It's a good time of year for buying cars :) Hope it lives up to your expectations when you pick it up! ..and the bump strips have been removed ( make sure you ask why, as it could mean that it's been in for paint and not had them replaced. ) EDIT - By bump strips, I mean the black plastic strips on the side of the car, you can see them easily on this nugget Corrado :
