the 8v is basically the same 8v as found in the Golf GTI of the same era(albeit in the Corrado there was at least 2 variants of it) and the 16v IIRC is an Audi design
-
d'oh...........i did think that to begin with too...honest :D
-
best corrado colour IMHO 8)
-
I remember taking a 2yr-old one for a test drive about 93/94 and being pretty impressed tho at the time I had my 924S so didn't want to lose creature comforts like E/W's and PAS
-
they are purely cosmetic btw,you can even remove them completely and you still won't get water in to the cabin from them.........unless you have a dirty big hole in your roof
-
my Storm was originally an Edinburgh car :D ...............i bought it from Edinburgh lexus in 2001,and the only previous owner lived in a posh part of Edinburgh :D Colinton IIRC
-
I still can't get how there was only approx 500 sold in the UK.............fair enough when they first came out they were a tad expensive£11k+ IIRC,but i remember in their last year or so they had a massive price cut and were for sale for under the £10k mark new(£9995 IIRC)
-
managed to get a proper link to it http://corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=368092
-
buy it if you can............they'll be highly collectable as there was only seemingly 500 sold in the UK,very tuneable too any more details of it tho??............as you have to be registered to view the link :(
-
try AutoGlym's rubber n bumper trim gel seems to work ok,you could also remove the side strips as tbh they provide little or no protection from people opening doors on to the car............btw if your car's an early valver (pre-92)Steven its probably Bordeaux Pearl rather than twilight violet as thats a later colour
-
pop a request on the below link............someone might be able to assist and tell if its a wasted journey or not viewtopic.php?f=17&t=11067
-
IIRC they do just push fit in
-
don't re-use them Riley..........just buy new ones £8-ish+VAT ea IIRC

Alfa Romeo 156 / 147 GTA 3.2 V6 - Discuss!
vr6storm replied to double-6s's topic in General Car Chat
just been reading the article with your Alfa in this month's Evo Will.................must admit made me think about having a test drive of one   -
i would leave spending on the valver until you've made sure that you are going to keep it long-term and don't want either a G60 or VR6 for their performance advantages,as if you've spent a small fortune on your valver and then make the mistake of having a look at a G60 or VR then its gonna be money wasted btw where from the 'deen are you??? there's a VW(Eastside) meet every Tuesday evening at the beach ballroom(no where not "bouley bashers")

Why do we get so attached to these cars?
vr6storm replied to skinnyman9000's topic in General Car Chat

wot sort of vr for 3.5k?..+ wot milage the vr god for?
vr6storm replied to dubmas's topic in General Car Chat
I bought a 148k miler back in November last year and it was as quiet as my 78k miler -
Sorry but the later wheels just look stupid  but those pics of it wearing the speedo's 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
-
is there 2 on the valver as well................cos IIRC on the VR the temp guage one is dearer than the ECU one(the VR one I replaced was under £30 again IIRC)
-
funnily enough round town I get low 20's for my Storm............the worst I've had round town was 19mpg and that was due to the coolant temp sensor being buggered
-
£4k is gonna get you a decent VR..............the trouble will be finding one thats decent out of all the not-so decent ones http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=58411 thats one bang on your budget and with the added bonus of the fairly rare black leather Recaro seats, also it appears to have some expense spent on the engine
-
I've a set of 6.5x 16 inch BBS RX2's on my Storm and even with 215's on they do indeed look too skinny
-
sounds plausible,as i would imagine if the ABS was truly kaput it would warn you earlier
-
remember them coming out in the mid-80's.....Football Terrace Fashion and cars   .......there was also a Fila edition Lancia Y10 IIRC
-
my first motor was a 78T mk2 1.3 2-dr Escort, that i hated and couldn't wait to get rid of.............if only I knew mk2 escort shells would be so sought after especially 2 door ones
