a how much is it worth thread... not you usual
vr6storm replied to kerrly's topic in General Car Chat
the metal electric sunroof was standard on the UK spec G60's btw,t'was only optional on the early valvers IIRC value wise I'd say Walesy is spot on given its low miles/one owner from new status,it would have a limited market selling in the uk however so it might be harder to shift if it was on the open market -
Hi Jeff Welcome to the forum :D 1)no they were only available in black, grey or beige leather and of course a few cloth variations 2)they are a pretty generic VW sport seat albeit the Corrado ones are slightly different in design (they go lower than a Golf GTI ones )so most Sporty VW's from the 80's use the same shape with just sublte differences in design to suit their application 3)all leather Corrado sport seats are manualwith electric heating, the only ones that are elec adj are the Recaro optional ones if they are for your 'stang it might be an idea to look for Ford Escort/Fiesta RS turbo seats as these are fairly cheap to get so then you can trim them in the blue leather you want

perfectly correct.............the 1.8 16v is cat-free........the 2.0 16v however does have a cat
-
its cos over here in the UK the A/C system fitted to our Corrados was an aftermarket one as opposed to the factory fit A/C on US spec C's so consequently vry few UK market C's have A/C

Might as well tell you this now before someone else does but ALL Corrado's are Karmann's basically. Everyone of them was styled & built at Karmann Coachworks in Osnabruck so they all sport that little Karmann badge inside on the gear surround.. well apart from Storms, although built at Karmann they don't have the badge :D -
Buster I ordered parts from him paid by cheque(£140-ish) and the parts had arrived well before my cheque could even be cashed,so I don't think he's done a bunk with yer money
-
I'll look forward to that Bill :D
-
Had one of those too Roddy on an Sept 82 "Y" plate. I got rid of it with 50k on the clock cause it rattled like an old tin can and bought a Mk2 Golf GTI 8 valve with similar miles which didn't have a single sqeak or rattle and there began my love affair with Veedubs! ooooh tell me more Bill..........what colour was it?,I had a black 84B XR3i back in 1990,moved on to a 84A XR4i in 91 then onto my first Porsche a 83Y 924 lux in 93
-
thing is my very first car 20 years ago this year was a mk2 Escort 1.3L 2-door(so ripe for a 2.0 pinto and RS2000 flat-front replica)............and I couldn't wait to get rid.......sold it for £150 in 1988(was fairly sold just minor cosmetic rust)....it would be worth easy £1k+ without any mods now..........but mk3 Escorts were always my favourites always wanted a S1 RST or RS 1600i but would really love a carb'd XR3 as they are getting rarer and rarer than they're more collectable RS cousins
-
now yer talking rarity.........tho IIRC the RS1800 is a fair bit rarer just over 100 compared to just under 900 for the Twink's
-
ahhh but John RS1600's are a lot rarer than the more mainstream RS2000(there was a restored mk1 RS2000 up my neck of the woods for sale last year at £12.5k).............and not to mention that £2-£3k only buys decent Escort Sports more than a decent RS..........Ive seen rotten 2-dr mk2 shells(not even RS's) go for well over £1k,cheapest decent mk2 RS2000 Ive seen has been closer to £5k..........and don't even think about how much a mk2 RS1800 will cost
-
allow me to get it for you

vr6storm replied to DUBST4R's topic in General Car Chat
Civic Type-R's are under 200bhp I thought :? ,with bugger all torque too -
when i did mine i just did them in situ.........just used a wire brush to get rid of any crud before applying the paint.........i was lucky in that my mate let me use the 4-poster ramp to do it
-
i remember when I first bought my Storm, enquiring about plugs and being quoted £19.50 ea
-
yip smoothrite can cope easily with the heat.........and is easier/cheaper to apply than the dedicated caliper paint

tell me about Andy............about 5 years ago I had a BT sales guy hit the pass.side of my Storm and damage it......fine I thought......pretty easy to see who's to blame,I even turned down the offer of a "witness" who I knew stayed in the same street as the accident scene, anyway months of to-and froing then BT sales guy has a "witness" that says I was undertaking so therefore my fault.............even tho its physically impossible for damage to be on my pass.side and his driver side if I'm undertaking!!!.......but cos he had a "witness" the insurer would only settle 50/50 -
sounds like a siezed latch..........my passenger door was the same for about 6months last year.........had to damage the door card slightly to get the card off and in to the innards

with skid marks on those pics I can't see how he can claim that you pulled out in front of him and he was only travelling at 40mph.............did you get any witnesses? -
Corrado VS VRS poo !! who do think wins in this video ??
vr6storm replied to CorradoRun's topic in General Car Chat
c'mon tho Kev............Skoda not having any heritage is a bit narrow-minded,they were always competing in the RAC albeit in the lower classes and gaining class victories long before VW were involved............not to mention the fact that SKODA was a well respected engineering company/concern before a certain Mr Hitler decided to invade Czechoslovakia in the late 30's,the laughable Skoda's were as a result of Czechoslovakia being part of the eastern bloc and building no-frills/fripperies cars which still managed as I pointed out to compete and have class wins in various Rally's -
My mint 2.0 16v - now has BBS and Recaros on show

you mean you've been here for a year and still don't know that the armrest was only fitted to 1.8 16v's,G60's and VR6's...........they were optional on the 2.0 16v and 2.0 8v's    -
you sure your covered for their replacement????.......as I'm with Admiral too and although I've also declared my Schrick,Konis and miltek they will only replace with VW equipment if I had to claim
