5dr 318is............thats a new one...................so i take it,its a 4 door saloon    ......if it is that quite a rarity........they were only on the go for a year or so in the late 90's as for the nikasil problem it was really only the 323i(2.5L) and 328i(2.8L) engines that were affected
-
anyone know if a mk2 Steering wheel is compatible with my 95 Storm??
-
the late ones are £19+VAT+PnP each so I would imagine the early ones being the same or cheaper.............thats from GPC in Luton btw
-
try your local window tinting place(s)...........they will be able to remove it and possibly fit and supply new film

avoid daz vr .....................total and utter timewaster!!!! the sub 20k clocks I had for sale he said he would take............anyway he said he sent off a cheque 13th of June...........no sign whatsoever of it,then he said he'll cancel that one and send off a fresh cheque this time registered post...........guess what no sign yet!!.........after numerous pm's to him asking whats happening he hasn't even the decency to respond to them to let me know...........he seems to be after just about everything and anything that comes up for sale too so be careful and never send anything til you have full payment as to be honest I wouldn't trust him one bit..TOTAL AND UTTER TIMEWASTER!!!!!

B@STARD DELIVERY DRIVER SCRAPED MY CAR! Advice needed!
vr6storm replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
not good to hear about that Glenn............but tbh if its only as "minor" damage as that it would be very doubtful the driver would have known about hitting you unless he actually saw it happening, and going by the damage shown its only been the slightest of skiffs, its possibly not even been done by the lorry,as there would have been more damage than that, and of course would possibly been higher up than as low as the bumper, tho thats not to say its not been a mud-flap or lower part of the lorry, but if the lower part of a lorry had hit your bumper there would also have been more likely to have been higher up damage too -
waste of time tbh..........especially as the bulk of the braking is done by the fronts, all you'll do is upset the balance
-
that'll be the compact.............the coupe actually has slightly longer front wings than the others
-
Fabia VRs without a doubt............provided of course your mum isn't a badge snob
-
on the coupe and compact the 1.9 was just an newer version of the 1.8 16v power was the same but torque was improved(the 1.9 16v certainly feels more lively)...............and to confuse matters more, the 316i(saloon/coupe/compact/tourer) from the late 90's was actually a 1.9 8v ..............m-tech kit is worthwhile having as it gives it the M3 look..........rare-ish but not that rare.if that makes sense
-
you going for coupe, saloon, estate(touring) or hatchback(compact)? I had an E-36 318ti Compact prior to getting my Storm, decent performance and economy as its a 1.8 16v(upto 96)then 1.9 16v from 96 onwards, the 16v engine is pretty rare on the saloon btw and was only available for approx 1year(98/99)...on the coupe and saloon the 16v engine'd model is the 318is quite nice looking if you have bigger alloys had nothing major go wrong during the 2.5 years ownership, other than a ISV making starting/idling a pig, they do need rear suspension/subframe bushes every 3years or so tho

its a UK spec thing IIRC

My 91 Rado G60, 1.9 rebuild finished (no 56k)
vr6storm replied to Monzadave's topic in Members Gallery
£4.5k for a G60 that needed an ignition switch and had a few dents even before you discovering the engine needed a rebuild!!!!......sorry but you were well and truly done there...........very poor show that Griff never offered some of your money back cracking rebuild thread though -
the gearbox isn't anywhere near the "faux transmission tunnel"/gear lever surround area btw.............so its more than likely what Jim has suggested
-
took a pic of your C at Kames today

Which Tyre rating for my standard (early) VR6 wheels
vr6storm replied to MoonlightBlueVR6's topic in Exterior
pretty sure VR rated tyres have been on the go since the late 80's Matt............as I remember getting VR rated tyres for my 924S back in 1993 -
Which Tyre rating for my standard (early) VR6 wheels
vr6storm replied to MoonlightBlueVR6's topic in Exterior
205/50/VR15's are all the Corrado VR6 needs, they are rated to 150mph and as the Corrado VR6 top speed is 145mph they are fine you can put ZR's on if you wish, but it will be overkill IMHO,you will only be able to get to the top speed of a Corrado,on an Autobahn/dis-used runway or deserted Motorway,so in day to day driving with a few spirited drives etc the VR rated tyres will be fine -
.........however if you were to drive into the skip at night and the skip didn't have visible marker boards, then the Skip company are in the wrong so you would be able to claim off the Skip company/customer.........provided it is on the queens highway that is

repost alert
-
you'll only be able to test the ABS if you have it fitted btw.........IIRC its a late G60 you have??? basically the OBD plug you have will be OBD1 and so only those two wires/plugs you have found, later Corrado's(well later VR6's) have OBD2 diagnostic plugs(still using OBD1 management but with OBD2 plugs)they have the more pins and have fault memory, the G60 only stores ABS faults IIRC
-
IIRC they are just over £120 per motor(there's obviously 2 per seat),your local VW dealer should be able to order it........
-
is that a bona-fide quote from a bodyshop or a casher??.............if its the bodyshop then thats probably right, they do have to make money afterall,if its a casher unless its expensive paint thats a bit high!!

Empire Gfx. Who's used them and what was delivery time?
vr6storm replied to grimmy's topic in Suppliers Forum
my sets took 3-4 weeks to arrive so don't panic as yet -
errr............the US of A :D ............put a wanted ad up and see if any of the American members fancy doing a swap........obviously shipping will be savage tho seriously tho I reckon you'll ruin your C's looks by doing anything other than using the US spec bumper to get rid of the side repeaters
-
you could buy a US spec front bumper and use the marker lights as indicators, otherwise tbh anything else looks too chavvy
