  1. der Untergang aka Downfall http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163/ best foreign film Ive watched tho I suppose it depends on if you have an interest in the second world war from the German perspective
  2. its maybe negative comments to you but I'm afraid to say its called being realistic and not just thinking with Corrado tinted glasses the recession can't be too bad then if somebody is looking at paying £9k for a G60 FWIW I started as a sole trader/self employed in summer 2007 and I'm still going strong now so just wind your neck back in about that,so ive seen it go from good to bad in the space of a year I might just sell my Storm as well if Corrado's have dramatically risen in value, especially since 79k miler has now had a complete respray and is looking like new
  3. tbh asking £9k for any Corrado regardless of how minted it is,is crazy talk, more so considering by the members thread on it,it has had some bodywork,I know of a near identical minted one that I could buy for £5k up here with under 50k miles
  4. just bear in mind too that the 840 is just a slightly smaller money pit than the 850,I know 2 840 owners who have had major bills, one of the owners bought a low mile 3yo one and got stung with a £2k bill within weeks, needless to say that was covered under its warranty beautiful cars just like the Porsche 928,however much as i love the 928,I don't have the kahunas to go for that due to the running costs and money pit potential and I treat the 8 series as pretty much the same
  5. C'mon Walesy you of all people should KNOW what its worth, you have done a bit of part time car trading in the past afterall, maybe I'm hitting wide of the mark here but its sounding like something that you have just picked up and are wanting to get a feel what enthusiasts will pay before marking the price up apologies if this is not the case but to me it sounds too much like a FEELER for sale more than a genuine enquiry
  6. In hindsight as much as I would prefer the Magnex to my Miltek from a cosmetic viewpoint,quality-wise I've had no issues with my Miltek in 7 years/30+k miles
  7. apparantly its meant to be half a Lambo V10 engine,Porsche did the same with the 928's V8 to create the 944's 2.5 http://www.thecarblog.com/euro_cars/aud ... e_back.php
  8. we try to help him,but he has terminal wheelwhoreitis on the plus side,if you fancy a set of alloys every now and then just check his latest posts and see what tickles your fancy, these wheels he has I think have been on since the end of june IIRC More like a week  sorry meant to say been in his posession since the end of June

  10. my Milltek,as i said i prefer the look of the magnex but when I bought mine back in 2002 I was told the Milltek was the better one to go for
  11. I've never found it too loud, just a nice wee burble when idling nothing too intrusive just makes it sound a bit more meatier than the standard one
  12. I have a Milltek on mine fitted back in 2002 still going strong, however I know a few folk witht he Magnex which IMHO looks slightly better tho I have heard they can have issues but I suppose it depends on the fitter
  13. right just got my Storm back from the bodyshop, and obviously a slight breakdown in communication with the painter in that I forgot to mention i had a spare new VR6 badge for the back anyway instead of the rear having C o r r a d o .Storm VR6 its now been returned as C o r r a d o ......Storm now I strangely quite like it as is,but just feel peeps will think mine is a fake when its not,I'm not entering any sort of Concour's with it but might possibly show it at some point, whats folks opinions on the badging? keep it looking a bit modded or put it as it should be,given that not all Storms had the badges correctly applied from day 1
  14. from what sort of Audi tho they use the same pcd on certain models only early A3, and TT mk1 have 5x100 later stuff as well as early 90's stuff use 5x112 ie TT mk2 and S2 Coupe
  15. unfortunatly to other people the Corrado VR6 or any other Corrado for that matter are nothing more than 14+yo VW's
  16. not keen on ALL black wheels much prefer black centres with a silver rim to break it up
  17. brilliant work only spoiled by 2 little things IMHO 1)Wolfsburg badge on a Corrado  2)Porsche caps on a VW wearing non-Porsche wheels
  18. very nice get the bits n pieces sorted first, then prepare your bank account/credit card for some minor mod action  Miltek or Magnex Exhaust Lowered suspension then viola you'll have a well sorted example
  19. fair doos but bear in mind the scrap price changes on a weekly if not daily basis FWIW I got the grand total of £3.60 for a scrap alloy from Panderosa just a week or 2 back
  20. by the time they factor in picking it up too I very much doubt you'll even get that for it,the person i know works for John Laurie's and can give you an idea of the present scrap value,in fact he tells me that you'll only get approx £60-ish at present values anyway his name is Martin and his mobile is 07745882376
  21. they've always been rare-ish since i bought my Storm back in 2001
  22. by the sounds of it its likely to be a breaker rather than a restoration project also with being up here in Aberdeenshire people will be very reluctant to come this distance just for a breaker I know of someone who MIGHT be interested in it but I know he will will only go £100 at most,as he'll be factoring in the picking it up and making money off it obviously,as we bought a running but Mot fail G60 3 years ago for breaking for the £300 mark so a nugget yellow valver with a knackered engine I'm afraid is worth a lot less
  23. IIRC if its a non-fault claim you are entitled to have your car repaired to its pre-accident condition regardless of the cost(within reason obviously and of course subject to parts availability)
  24. yip if I was in the market for a cheap runabout the Ka would be top of my list all the time,my first brand new car was a Ford Ka 2 in the first few months of them being introduced back in early 97,my wife and I bought it purely as a way of keeping our motoring costs down(no MOT's to worry about and 35mpg round town economy),we were used to having older cars with early 20 mpg figures and group 14+ insurance costs,so the Ka was a breath of fresh air with its Group 2 insurance and it was such an enjoyable chassis to have fun with that even only having 69bhp was great fun,in total we have had 3 of them 2 Ka2's and a SportKa SE,my wife has only replaced her SportKa with a Freelander 2 TD4 auto due to her having a horse now and i dare say if we didn't go for the Freelander she would be driving the latest Ka or Fiat 500
