Sold April 2005 for £550+auction and transfer fees, I know because I was bidding, stopped at £500 :bad-words: so close on £750 all inclusive give or take £10 or so Ive noticed its up for sale on the cherished number plate sites http://www.regtransfers.co.uk/main/sear ... esults.asp for £1395 :cuckoo: considering these days how cheap the actual cars are, paying 1/3rd or so of the purchase cost of the car on a plate is pretty well stupid

somebody say DSG :dorky:

Shame cause it'd tick all those boxes effortlessly! :( I adore my W124 200TE already! W124's are generally regarded as the best of all the E-class's ,Ive just had my W211 E280 CDI for just under 1 year(55 plate/29k miles when i bought it end of May 08) and have done 51k miles in it(so sitting on 80k),and aside from tyres, wear and tear service items have only needed to replace an auxillary Battery and 2 glowplugs

there was the Accord Type R but that was the pre-2003 model

spookily its the Italian version of ConRAD  -
IIRC it'll go by year of car,so as yours is post 91 it'll will have post 91 emissions limits to pass
-
silver and on the stand it looks silver to me too

how long did VW have it at MK for?,as they normally keep their press cars a while so that all the mags/motoring journos get their mitts on it,the only Press RHD G60 i remember is the blue one used with the Polo G40 and photographed with a Vought Corsair WW2 fighter-plane
-
H-plate was the first of the RHD G60 in this country,if it was bought in Paris then I can't see why it would be the first VW press G60(as surely VW wouldn't have had to have bought it in Paris??),unless it was shown at the paris motorshow perhaps
-
if its the first G60 imported/sold in this country by VW it will be LHD

classic car insurance normally dictates that the "classic" car is not your main vehicle so is normally restricted to a mileage limit of well under 10k p/a,i had my 993(with my Storm as my main car on a normal policy) on classic insurance when I first bought it but found the 5k mileage limit too easy to exceed within the 12month period, you'll find also that with classic insurance you cannot amass NCD like you can on a normal policy,it will only amass onto another classic policy, might be better for you to get an agreed valuation policy rather than a classic one tbh I now have both my Storm and 993 on an Admiral multicar policy, thoI would be better getting them both onto a classic policy as the miles I put on them now are very negligble

Yep, even though it's just gonna get crushed. I guess the "thought" behind that is that one of their aims is to get the cars off the road and if it doens't have an MOT then it's not on the road in the first place. I mean of course nobody would be driving a ten year old car around on the road with no MOT would they? :cuckoo: ahh well then I might just get me ar$e in gear and restore the 23yo 924 I have sitting in the driveway -

oh and of course they NEED to HAVE a valid MOT!!! -
so how do you define positions then 1)off 2)side lights 3)headlights or 1)side lights 2)headlights ?????
-
early C's which are 88-92
-
honestly Tom stop being so pedantic :nono:   it'll be 93 reg'd and more than likely a 92 build date
-
still would be an upgrade to the 2.0 8v and 2.0 16v's they fitted at the factory all the same

I take it the scrap car has to have a MOT? as I have a car that Ive owned since 2004 but would need a ton of work to pass an MOT,but quite fancy getting into a new car -
the 924 is and has a lot of VW bits, but mainly mk1 Golf era stuff and earlier, the 924 Turbo I'd say has less in common with VW's than the n/a 2.0 924 76-85
-
red badges are pre-95M/Y(so pre Aug/Sept 94),chrome badges were 95M/Y,I prefer the red front grill badge with a chrome rear one
-
924's up to the 85 924S's intro are 4-stud(old Audi PCD) and are actually drums, the only pre-85 924's with 5x130PCD rear discs are the Turbo and Carrera GT versions, never heard before that they can fit straight on the Corrado tho
