    My mate had a B&M on his MK2 Golf VR6 and its the worst gear change ive ever experienced. How these things sell is beyond me. Utter crap.

    Yeah i can see what your saying there and personally i know a good finish when i see one. I think half the problem in bodyshops are the products. Ive been used to using 3M compounds over the years and after trying Menzerna last week has shown me how rubbish the 3M stuff is. The finishes just dont compare. I demo'd it to a few of my work colleagues and they couldnt believe the difference.

    I love reading this thread. Very interesting stuff. Im competent with a machine polisher as i am a car body sprayer by trade. Ive detailed a few cars myself now and really enjoy doing it.

    I could settle for 8x16 all round. That would be a good compromise. Im definately not touching my arches though.

    5000 were built. Wouldnt know how many are left. Ive got one which im breaking soon.

    Might have to rethink here. Dont want to mess with the bodywork and i still want it to handle properly. Not sure what 9x16's would feel like to corner with.

    I have been thinking about this. I love the 16" Schmidt modern line splits but they are very expensive. Got any suggestions? I would hold out for em.. one sweet VR.. 8) pic for yah of what yrs could look like... :wink: That looks awesome. Any idea what size and width they would be?

    That looks awesome. I thought all 15" RS were 4 stud? In theory it wont pass an MOT with no side repeaters?

    Added my first mod today. Couldnt stand not having any VR noise so its now sporting a BMC CDA :twisted:

    Not usually a fan of TT's but this is very nice.

    Sounds far too cheap to me. Proper VR6 rebuilds usually come in at around the 3k mark.

    Yeah it is a fail. You can fail even if the washers dont work properly.

    Have a look on ebay for Virosol. Its made from citrus and is completely safe on any surface. Its around £8 for 5 litres and you can dilute from that. Its brilliant on wheels, engine bays and wheel arches. I wouldnt use anything else now.

    Dont worry i wont be. Gareths done exactly what I would have done to the car. The only real thing im looking to change now is the alloys. Would like some more ZW1's.

    Are the 312mm brakes off then?? You must be well chuffed... Yeh the brakes are off. I think chuffed is an understatement lol. I only PM'd him on the offchance after he mentioned wanting a TT. Looks like i got there in time as hes had quite a few calls after the PVW article.
