  1. As the title says, when i turn off the ignition the whole car shudders, i'm thinking it could be a knackered engine mount? Just started last night after a long drive. It's a G60 by the way. I also have a ten hour drive to do in a couple of days down to JMR, if an engine mount is knackered would it be a really bad idea to do this drive? Cheers, James
  2. Samantha (my G60) is being treated to a stage 4 supercharger rebuild, 68mm pulley, chip and oil cooler just after new year! Lucky girl eh!
  3. Just wondering how long your engines take to warm up in the morning? I have a G60 and it seems to take ages to get up to 80 degrees (oil temp), usually about 5 or 6 miles driving or after about 10 mins of driving! Is this just a general corrado thing? Other cars i've driven warm up after only a few minutes!
  4. I'm 21 and pay £1100 with elephant TPFT for my G60, it is quite pricey but i think it's def worth it!

    Brake 'feel'

I know what you mean, the brake pedal does have a bit of travel compared with newer cars! Think the vr6 does have a longer pedal travel, i was driving my mates vr6 at the weekend and it has a longer travel than my G60!
  6. Stuff that! I'd prefer to have frozen washers!
  7. My ZW1's (with 205 wide tyres) rub when i'm doing tight turns, but my suspension is lowered on coilovers a few cm's also! Good choice in wheel, i think they look really on the corrado!
  8. It happens when i turn the wheel in both directions. I suppose it does feel as if the spring is turning with the strut and popping back, although i have coilovers so would this make a difference? sorry for the vague description, i'm not too bothered about it but it's just one of those annoying things!
  9. Hi all, just wondering what my tyre pressures should be? I have toyo proxys, the tyre specs are 205/40 R17 84W. I've tried looking on the website but no luck, apparently i need to go to a toyo dealer just to get some tyre pressures!
  10. Whenever i turn the steering wheel about half a revolution i can feel a very definate "clunk" through it, what could be causing this? Ball joints or wishbones needing replaced? Just had my top mounts replaced, thought it might be these but obviously not! Any ideas? Cheers.
  11. I've got no signs of rust on my G60, i think those comments are totally unfounded! However it is interesting reading other people's views on the corrado!
  12. I love this car, remember seeing the feature in golf mag last year and consequently buying a corrado because of it!
  13. As you mentioned it could be a sticking calliper or possibly worn suspension top mounts, i had this problem and got the mounts replaced and it made a difference!
  14. Don't think the corrado would have had a problem with scraping it's exhaust on standard suspension :D
  15. usually between 110 and 116 when i'm doing 70 - 80 mph. i've had a mocal oil cooler waiting to be fitted for months but never got round to it! oops lol
  16. I think your car looks well tasty! Just wondering what colour you used to spray your rear corrado badge? I was thinking of doing something similar! Cheers, keep up the good work!
  17. I got a new windscreen supplied and fitted for £220, the guy who fitted it said he'd done loads of corrados and if it's done properly there's really no problem! And it's true, 3 months later and i have no leaks or visible clues as to the replacement windscreen. Definately shop around, £500+ is a total rip off!

    FK Coilovers

vwcvr6 - i have the fk highsport with 17" RH ZW1's, tyre profile 205/40 and the ride is pretty comfortable. No where near as harsh as you might expect. James
  19. When you stop, you're not covering any distance but you are still using fuel to keep the engine running at idle therefore the mpg drops and would eventually fall to zero. Hope this helps! James

    FK Coilovers

I've just fitted FK Highsports to my G60 and i would agree that the ride is very good indeed, slightly stiffer than standard but no where near as harsh as i expected! Great performance and value for money! I paid £430 for mine inc delivery from venom. James
  21. The same thing just happened to me, i have an uprated headlight loom too! Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers, James
  22. Once the engine gets up to running temperature, there's loads of steam bubbling out of the expansion tank. I've just had the head gasket replaced so other than that what could be causing this? The temperature warning light also flashes, but the water temperature is around 80 degrees which seems ok and the engine doesn't seem to be overheating! The top hose to the radiator gets hot but is still easy to squeeze, ie. not brick hard like i think it should be. The water pump was replaced during the head gasket, don't know if this helps at all. Also, could the temperature sensor need replacing if it's indicating 80 degrees but the water is clearly at boiling point? And finally, after the rebuild there's a bit of black smoke coming out the exhaust, is this normal and will it settle down with time? Cheers, James
